I don't understand this tactic about somehow victims knew one of these guys and offered to trade sex for drugs since this wasn't exactly what you would think was a fair trade. How would they hope to even convince one juror that this young couple went along with whatever weed or pills that made it okay to do what these beasts did to them. Neither of them had traces of drugs in their system, right? So when is this perp's attorney going to figure out he can't show there was a deal struck? If there even was, where are the drugs they were bartering for?

Unfortunately people trade sex for drugs all the time. Even for minisule amounts. IIRC drugs were found in the vics system...Adderal and MJ in Chris and Alcohol in Channon. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. What's absurd is they would have to go to the likes of Slim and Crew or the area or Chipman to get their drugs. And Adderal is a drug of choice for high acheiving young people, college students etc. Channon could have bought it on campus or gotten it from her brother who had a script.

Another point TK made is that both Channon and Chris had money in their bank accounts. So there was no need to trade sex or the 4runner etc.

Eldridge also tried to subtly tie in the three pretty white girls doing oxy (Cassie, Brandy and Daphne).

Julie & Suzi, I've been looking for it since the Cobbins trial. I've never been able to find it either. :waitasec:

Either he got a lawyer quickly or for some reason they are not releasing his statement. I would just like to see who he points the finger at. It seem he really didn't have anything to do with the rapes.

Didn't he take a plea bargin? Maybe he lawyered up and never talked to the police? But that makes no since. To plea bargin you have to admit to somehthing, right?

Eric Boyd's statement was sealed. I found this document so far in my searching for any relevant information regarding this and will continue to find the actual motion to seal but until then this is all I got. Sorry.

Thank you all again for keeping this updated. I can't watch it at work and ya'll are doing a great job. I'm thinking I really should step away from it though because its just eating at me what these monsters have done to these 2 beautiful kids. I was having nightmares about it last night, woke up in a sweat and bawling....I guess my brain just can't seem to wrap around people being so cruel.

Many prayers going out to both the families and friends of the victims. Just breaks my heart.

Jennifer Milsapps, TBI...something to do with DNA I believe.

  • #292
I believe the judge is questioning one of the jurors..he claimed he went to high school with the witness Ms. Milsapps...he said they never dated..etc...judge doesn't make it seem like a big deal

  • #293
Oh geez. Jennifer Milsap is on the stand, the DNA expert, and one of the jurors knows her from high school!

  • #294
He says he never dated her and can be objective. Defense raised no objections.

It is a travesty that the victims are trashed as justice is sought. I watch Channon's father rock back and forth in the court room as he stares over at the defendent. I wonder how many times he's wished he could jump over the benches and snuff the breath right out of this-very-cleaned-up monster. I pray for Channon and Chris' parents, family and friends. It's a horrible system when a person is innocent until proven guilty but the innocent victim is dirtied in the process.

In our quest for a fair trial for the defendant, we are heaping untold abuse on these families and on society in general. Even the judge looks haggard and worn. The difference in his appearance between the Cobbins trial and this one is shocking. There's a marked decline. Of course, I don't know for sure why, but I have to think the pressure of going through the mess of trying to achieve 'fair trials' for all the the defendants in this crime must have take a large toll. IMO, our justice system has expanded the legal definition of 'fair' way too far out into the ozone. It now means something that gives all the care to the defendant and absolutley none, or precious little, to anyone else.

Suzi's the pro at the narrative, but I'll try!

I didn't get the name of this witness, but after the sweater, she's been identifying the parts of the rape kit, but they're all still in manila evidence bags.
