Defense: Did you ultimately ask LD to leave your home?

Rudd: Yes. For the second time, we found he'd brought marijuana into the home. He knew this wasn't allowed, and also had the drugs in Seth's car.

Maybe it's callous but when Eldridge asked if he wasn't sentenced to death, would she still visit him, and keep in contact. Even if he is sentenced to death, it'll takes years and years before he is. She'll probably die before he does.

"If he is permitted to live, do you intend to continue communications with him?" Yes

"He's like our son, we love him very much..."

Wishes the jury will "be merciful enough to allow him to live."

Oh, boy..

Defense: How did he respond?

Rudd: He didn't become visibly angry. But we could tell he was heartbroken.

Defense: Have you maintained contact w LD? When he went to prison for agg robber?

Rudd: Yes. We've written regularly. And he's called us quite a few times.

Defense: If he's permitted to live, do you intend to continue your contact w him?

Rudd: He's like my son to me and we love him very much. I know he had a hard beginning, and we were trying to do something better for him.

Defense: Do you have a wish you want to tell the jury about?

Rudd: I wish they would be merciful enough to allow him to live.

Pass the witness.

Price pointing out she made one attempt to see him in his first incarceration. Tried a couple of times this time around.

  • #988
Pros: You've only visited him once during 6 year incarceration?

Rudd: Yes. Got days mixed up etc. Last time we went, we were told only immediate family were allowed.

Saw him once in the 6 years he was in the pen.

Saw him yesterday, for the first time in 2.5 yrs since this last arrest - tried twice before, but weren't on list, or it was wrong time, or couldn't see him because they weren't immediate family.

This lady is making vague excuses for not being able to see Davidson.....it's all the prison's fault.

Two and one half years Davidson's been in jail. Speeeeeeedy trial, eh?

Pros: Describe your home for the jury. Is it modest sized home? Middle income, middle class?

Rudd: Yes, middle class. Fairly large home, 5 br w 3 levels. Yes, LD did have his own br
.

I am not thinking that these witnesses are helping.
I agree. I thinking these people are hanging him. Course, I thought the same about the Cobbins trial and was wrong.

Rudd says LD attended Christian school, attended church... he knew right from wrong. Followed rules most of the time, tho tended to make questionable friends.

I think if Davidson escapes the death penalty it will be because of this woman.

I think the witnesses in cobbins trial was able to get across fairly well that he had it rough, and IMO, he had it worse than davidson.

Heck, Davidson had alot of people to take him in, Cobbins lived on the streets.

Admitted when she finally found LD the time he disappeared, she was eventually relieved after she first "thought about killing him."

Two and a half year to come to trial. Twenty years, or more, to execute a DP if there is one. Endless appeals. Endless financial burden and emotional damage for society.
