Judge just confirmed that they don't need to answer the lower counts unless they find him guilty of the higher counts they are under. :thumb:

He also said they weren't supposed to consider or share with other jurors any information they gleaned from pre-trial publicity or other knowledge outside what was given in the courtroom. Darn.

One great point made by Price today was when he said the reason for Gutters refusal to leave the area when he had friends offering to take him out of state was that he wanted to try to get back into the house to get rid of Channon's body before LE found it.

Thank heavens for that one CSI guy who took it upon himself to run the print on that envelope, or Gutter might have gotten away with it. :prayer:

The manner in which LD chose to not even end Channon's suffering is perhaps the most despicable of all. Fgs even an animal is euthanized to end their pain and suffering... but LD didn't even do that. Left her clinging to life, after *nearly* breaking her neck, to slowly suffocate in a garbage can omg wth does that he's the absolute lowest of the lows. :frown:

I dont know about you folks, but I think Price's rebuttal closing argument was excellent. He trashed the two defense witnesses, and debunked the idea that Slim didnt anally rape Channon. He got out the "why" as to why slim didnt leave town, and he hangs those damn shoes around slim's neck again. He just brushed off the idea that it was not Slim's revolver that killed Chris. He did it all quickly, efficiently and with just the right amount of emotion. I just wish we could have seen how the jury was reacting to it all.

I never heard, but was her neck broken? There was lots of talk in the police interviews from coleman, and cobbins, etc about how slim tried to snap Channon's neck, but I think he failed didnt he? I can't even imagine how horrific that must have been, especially since it failed.

Exactly. After hours (days) of torture, he didn't care at that point whether it "worked," if she died a quick merciful death or a long agonizing one. It just makes me ill. Regardless, the jury will hold this coward criminally responsible for her death.

Thanks to all of you posting updates here. I watched Cobbins trial daily, but am unable to watch this one.
I appreciate the play-by-play updating....

If I remember correctly Channon's neck was not broken. Cobbins said Davidson tried to break it but failed. I do remember part of the testimony in this trial that Channon's head was at an odd angle. Anyone else remember that? I wonder if it was from the pressure of the trash can lid or did Davidson damage her neck? I don't know why I'm even posting that. The things we do know for fact are horrible enough.

I couldn't figure it out either. Eldridge wanted to put it off 'til morning, saying he couldn't be ready by 1, but the family and judge wanted to get it done today... offered to do it at 3:30... Eldridged whined and sighed that he guessed that was ok.

Not sure what's happening at 3:30. Sometimes they do "in case my client is found guilty" stuff. Like clarifying who's going to do impact statements etc.

  • #232
Also what the impact statements can and can't say.

My understanding is that the ME said there was no damage to her neck - just cramped down into the space, cheek against her knee.

Both Cobbins and Vanessa testified/said that Davidson tried to snap her neck before he placed her in the bags.

I fully believe this jury will come back w/in 24-48 hours w guilty on all the worst charges. Justice finally for Chris. And the 'justice' the Christians have waited for.

Yes you're right, I should have said "attempted" to break her neck. As it was, this only prolonged her agony.:furious:

I've got some things I need to get done. I don't know if I'll be back on in time for the 3:30 meeting. Catch you all later. Thanks for hanging out with me all these long days. God, please bless and comfort the parents of Channon and Chris.

On top of - and probably because of - all this stress, I think TK has a cold or flu. :( She mentioned having a cough day before yesterday.

I really don't think Gary will ever believe his beautiful daughter's death can be vindicated, but if there is no DP w LD the ringleader, I worry about him and how he will cope w that... :prayer:

I truely hope she was unconscious in those last few hours. The ME has said she couldnt know if she was or not, but we can hope.

Thank you so much for everything you've done to keep this trial alive here, and to keep all of us apprised of the progress and events, Suzi.
