Channon's father is standing up.

This sounds an awful lot like the same statement she gave in the Cobbins trial, so it should make it in. We'll see what objections Dumb and Dumber make though.

Yes exactly I believe. Just listened to it last nite.

Jamie Satterfiled of knoxnews on her twitter just made an interesting point: the juror question could indicate that the jury has already addressed the murder charges since those came first in the stack of instructions. That would not be a good sign for Slim. The fact that the jury came with a question like that so fast would also indicate that the jury is moving quickly through the charges. I would have to believe that means "guilty".
I missed the question... Were we told what it was?

they have a right to drag the victims throught the mud.

but the Mom cannot state the victims should have been put on trial.

Sad

They asked the difference between aggrevated (sp?) rape and facilitation of rape.

Jury asking diff between aggravated rape and lesser charge of facilitation of rape #cntrial

wow, the judges exchange with Channons mom is interesting concerning the mentioning of the defense tactics. These are issues that most certainly will be brought up on appeal. There is going to be a lot fall-out from this case concerning trial tactics, what is legal, what is ethical. Certainly the defense attorney's tactics of blaming victims is not going to go unmentioned.

Defense whined again, so judge said Deena can't refer to the fact that these kids were put on trial.

It felt good to hear him say, "Whether you and I agree or disagree with [the defense's] tactics...it's their right..."

He also looks beaten down by all this, and to be hating what he's saying:

Wow - he's allowing pics of Chris & Channon to be shown! Didn't he disallow them in the Cobbins trial?

I thought the same thing too.

I'm taking that information as a sign that hopefully there is a guilty verdict for the murder charges...........................and now they are considering the other charges.

Very odd that the judge is now discussing which photos of chris and channon he thinks are "good ones". Overstepping his bounds on that I think.

Is Gary not giving a statement, or am I totally blanking out? (I just watched ones from Cobbins trial last nite again so maybe confused ) I HATE that the defendant is made privy to--actually allowed to sit in on--all of the statements and decisions ahead of time. Like he should have ANY say in even how they verbally respond to his horrific brutalizing of their loved ones, it's infuriating. :furious:

Wow! He's encouraging the pic of Channon holding a child because it reinforces what the family said about how she wanted to work with children!

(I'm trying to get captures of all these - will upload in when I have them all.)

  • #334
For LD to hear this is just ludicrous. FGS he is the last one who should have ANY say in this--which is the ONLY input the victims' families even have. Geesh.

Kiki, I dont know. I guess Mr. Christian is NOT giving a statement. I serisouly wonder about his ability to get through one anyway at this point.

I don't think that I have ever seen a judge pick what photos would be good for the impact statements????:waitasec: I thought he was suppose to handle any objections to the photos chosen..............I hope he isn't screwing up anything right now.

I mean there he sits, in his little ivy league sweater, monitoring even the process of which pictures of his torture victims the victims' families are allowed to share, omg... what's wrong w this picture!!

I know the perp is just hating that.

For the judge to say that in front of the jury would be out of bounds.

He sounds like a consultant for the prosecutor. jmo

And yet, no objection. Could that be what they're discussing and hoping for?:
