I dated a guy that was beat with extension cords. One of the best guys I've met. My childhood was filled with my parents screaming at each other. I'm one of the nicest people I know (LOL).

This lady is ridiculous. I would be embarrassed to get up there and repeat this drivel. Who cares?

I know the generational cycle but for the life of me, I'll never understand why some victims of abuse and sexual abuse can not find w/in themselves any more compassion than their abuser. The fact some go the other route--and learn empathy--shows me it is a choice.

She's a mitigator (?). So basically she gets on the stand and gives a sob story that's supposed to excuse anything that a defendant does. Or makes you feel so bad for him that you spare his life. They should have a violin playing in the background.

It is very sad that any little boy or girl should have to grow up with that. But like you said, we all know lots of people that did, and grew up to be fine people. There is a point when people begin to make decisions on their own and are responsible for their own actions.

Saying LD was lost in the system, or forgotten while at the group home, for approx. 11 mos., that "something else should have happened." (You mean like LD "forgot about" Channon in the trash can  Pretty sure "something else" should've happened to her too.)

Pros crosses witness.

On that note, I gotta run. Catch you all later.

  • #792
Pros requests time to review the report. Breaking for lunch, to reconvene 12:45 EST.

Remember in Cobbins' trial when they asked the siblings what they had done with their lives since becoming adults. Wasn't one a nurse? They had gone on to college, etc. Wonder why we haven't seen them?

Thats right. I forgot about that. some siblings chose to be contributing members of society, and two of them chose to be animals.

Eldridge objecting to pros reviewing of report. Judge: "Something in there you want to conceal?" Eldridge: "She's not an expert." Judge: "Think pros has a right to look at that report. Is there something specific you wish to exclude? If there's something you want to take out, let me know what it is." :banghead:

Very interesting about this witness report. She has produced a written report of her findings (this is usual with expert witnesses) and the prosecution has asked to see a copy of it. Defense is objecting to producing it. Eldridge says that the witness is not going offer any expert opinions. The judge asked him if there was something in it they want to hide. Obviously there is damaging stuff in there. but they will have to produce it.

LOL, the defense said "there very well may be information in this report that we want to hide" or something along those lines. Making it sound like he really didn't know. Then when he's allowed to go through it he says it won't take long. That's because he knew exactly what he wanted to hide. That really pees me off that they're allowed to do that.

If defense was permitted to rely upon the report of this witness, pros ought to be allowed to see the report in it's entirety--not a censored, sanitized, redacted version.

The cameraman usually rests it on the flag's finial.

How is the jury supposed to make a knowledgeable/informed decision without having all the facts. It's a joke. One that isn't very funny.
