"The family of a Knox County man missing for more than two weeks is offering a $25,000 reward for information that helps her find her brother.

"He's a very nice man," said Maureen Dewey of California, talking about older brother Daniel Dewey, age 72.

Maureen Dewey said her brother's friends and family are contributing to the reward and she'll cover any shortage.

Dewey last was seen on March 23, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office. A Silver Alert has been issued for him.

Maureen Dewey said it's not like her brother to just disappear. She said it's her understanding that his car was found at his Halls area home."

I wonder if he took daily walks? Did he have anyone living with him or any home healthcare visits? I take it nothing noticeably disturbed in his home. Check bank accounts etc.

Dewey’s neighbor, Linda Gray, called the sheriff’s office after she started to get concerned. The last time she saw her neighbor was on March 24. She went to go get groceries for the both of them and when she returned, Dewey didn’t answer his front door.

“So I kept calling, kept calling, and never got a reply, and that just wasn’t like Dan,” she explained.

That’s when she called the sheriff’s office. Now she said she just wants her friend back home safe.

Mr. Dewey's been gone for too long. Let's hope he checks in with a VA Medical Center near wherever he might be. Hopefully he'll find safety soon.

Evidence indicates he walked away on foot, and video from a church down from his home recorded him walking in the night early March 24, according to Assistant Chief Deputy David Amburn of the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Family members say he has a disease that affects his balance so he cannot walk very far.

Thanks for the update! I didn't realize Danny's shoes had been located near the church. Did Danny have flip flops and sandals when he left home, or did the reporter misspeak? I can't find a report on the name of the church whose CCTV recorded him. I wonder if it's Black Oak Ridge Baptist Church which is about a 7 minute walk from Danny's Bakersfield Way home.

The family said his car, keys, wallet, cellphone and glasses were all still at his house. Police found Dewey's sandals near the church on the 28.

WBIR's reporting is a bit everywhere, imo. The reporter in the video says Danny's sandals and flip flops were found on the 29th. The written report says sandals were found on the 28th. I guess it's not a super big deal, but which is it?
