The Gallatin Police Department is asking for help locating a missing man who could be in distress.


Police are searching for Durrone Vernon Moore, who was last heard from by his girlfriend on Monday night around 9:23 in the evening. Police say his girlfriend received a phone call which indicated Moore could be in distress.

Police say while it has not been confirmed, there is cause for concern. Moore could be driving a 2009 Ford Taurus 4 door with license plate #CBF036.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 615-452-1313.

According to deputies, on Tuesday morning, the law enforcement agency received a call of a vehicle submerged in flood water.

After towing the vehicle out, it was discovered that the vehicle belongs to Durrone Vernon Moore of Gallatin, Tenn.

No one was in the vehicle at the time of its recovery.

Authorities say Moore’s girlfriend received a distressed call from Moore on March 4 at 9:23 p.m.

She stated that Moore was screaming and was trapped in a river somewhere and could not get out.

Sprint attempted to ping his phone, but could not locate it.

On Tuesday morning, March 5, 2019, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a vehicle submerged in flood water. After towing the vehicle out it was discovered that the vehicle belongs to Durrone Vernon Moore. No one was in the vehicle at the time of its recovery. Mr. Moore has since been reported missing from Gallatin, TN after a distress call was made and reported to GPD. Multiple searches have been made in the water and the surrounding area for Mr. Moore. We are continuing our search for Durrone Moore.
