Reading on the Facebook peace for Megan page I see Megan's sister posted their mother passed away

What happened to Megan's Mom - Kelly Hale Sharpton? I read through all her posts on here, and now the fb page says she passed away. Couldn't find any obituary for her. Does anyone know?

I started to love this woman for her courage and bravery. It saddens me for the whole family. My prayers go out to all of them.

Learned of Megan Sharpton's Mother; Kelly Hale; ksharp10's, passing from a friend yesterday morning but did not want to post until the shock wore off and I had time to reflect on this tragic news.
She was an amazing person and an advocate for keeping Megan's memory alive, while preventing other girls from being a victim of the silent epidemic, by spreading awareness. Although she said her knees were knocking and she would tremble all over when speaking in publc. She would voluntarily speak to any group, or actually anyone she met who would listen to Megan's tragic story. She would not allow Megan to become a statistic, or to be referred too as 'that girl' that was abducted.. "She was Megan"!...

Kelly Hale, had a hole in her heart that only Megan could fill...

This is just so sad.. I agree with everything you said above, Foxfire..and that she most certainly had her life cut short due directly to the fact that her Megan was viciously murdered..

I can only say that in my heart I wholeheartedly believe however that this mom and daughter are reunited and once again in each others arms.. There is no doubt in my mind that Megan was there to welcome her mom into Heaven..

I have tears streaming my face in feeling both sorrow and yet some type of peace in my heart in knowing this mom and daughter are once again together..and will never be apart again.

I lost my friend. She wanted to try to get through the holidays. She had plans.

But Lovely Kelly had a entire part of her heart missing and there was never going to be her Megan with her.
She went to Megan instead.
I know they are together and laughing and loving and watching over their family together.

I miss her terribly, I know I will see her again and we can be sarcastic and roll our eyes at silly things again.

Drove over to Tullahoma for the visitation. Long day trip, but worth it. Met ChristyTN, who was there. I left the funeral home and drove aprox 10 miles to the Tim's Ford bridge to see Megan's memorial. The star sculpture was in full flight due to the high winds today. I took some pics and then pulled up to the other end of the turn off, to get a view of Tim's Ford lake. When I looked back at the memorial, it was even more beautiful than up close.

I returned to the Funeral Home after dark and it was slammed with hundreds of folks. They were lined all the way down the hall to the Office, to sign the guest book..

Kelly & Megan, had a lot of caring family, relatives, friends, and cyber friends that read her daily posts on the Peace for Megan Sharpton, FB page...

Their names are Kelly & Megan....

Today was the first time I read this thread, I read every post, I felt a sense of loss and regret for Meagan, I felt mad and vindictive towards DJ and his wife, in a few short posts and youtube clips I began to admire Kelly's courage and strength, and I am shocked by this development. The pain and loss has to be horrible, I hope I never know it. Rest in Peace Kelly.
If there is anything suspicious pertaining to the circumstances, someone, anyone speak up to LE. DJ did not work alone.

Kelly Sharpton died at a Chattanooga hospital on Friday at the age of 47. Her cause of death is unknown.

Tullahoma News: Tragedy strikes local family again

The mother of a 24-year-old nursing student whose burned body was found along a roadway in rural Franklin County last July has died.

Kelly Sharpton passed away Friday at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga at the age of 47, the Tullahoma News reported.

Her cause of death was not immediately released.

Kelly previously told Nashville's News 2 after Donnie Jones Jr. pled guilty to raping and murdering her daughter Megan, she was going to concentrate on keeping her memory and story alive.

"She was given to me for a reason," she said. "Her life had value and it's my job to speak for her and make sure it continues to be."

Bob Clemens, of Moore County, designed the memorial, which stands more than 7 feet tall with 24 metal stars that gleam in the sunlight &#8212; one for each year of Megan&#8217;s life.

&#8220;Megan was that kind of kid,&#8221; Kelly Sharpton said at the time. &#8220;In motion, always alive, always vibrant.&#8221;

Kelly Sharpton did not want her daughter to be remembered as that &#8220;burned girl found on the side of the road.&#8221; So she wrote the message &#8220;Megan is her name&#8221; on a rock at the site.
