I like the wording of males need to be RESPONSIBLE and protect themselves a little better

i always tell the younger guys " it takes two to tango" and its both of your responsibilities to provide protection

young guys though not very good at listening to good advice or taking lessons, very in the moment thinkers

I think all cultures have their own honorable customs. The problem here is twofold, IMO.

The first is when these customs conflict with the law of the land in America. For example, here in NYC my 8th grade students come from all around the world. They are 13 and 14 years old, and many of them have very recently immigrated to the U.S. There have been too many occasions when a student is afraid for us to call their parents when they misbehave, fail a class and so on. They will say that they will be beaten with various implements, forced to kneel for hours on uncooked rice, and other physical punishments.Whether or not that's true, we are mandated reporters. We have to tell the guidance counselor or the assistant principal, then they have a meeting with the parents. Sometimes the kids make it up to get out of trouble, but often it's true. Then you have very startled and angry parents who believe in the disciplinary customs of their countries and cannot understand why they can't continue that here. This is true as well for parents born in America but who choose to adhere to corporal punishment, because that is their belief system for disciplining children.

The second is that we could all fervently wish that Evelyn were being raised in an "it takes a village" manner. I think that's a great custom, whether it's Romani, Chinese, West Indian, Korean, Russian and all the cultures that practice it. However, Evelyn is missing. As others have said, it's her Romani grandfather, proud of his heritage, who contacted LE because she clearly isn't accounted for, anywhere and with anyone.

I remember one of my (few) Romani students who barely came to school. His parents were in danger of losing him to child services. I spent a lot of time trying to understand a culture with which I was unfamiliar so that he could feel bonded and understood. We talked about the wagon wheel symbol, etc., and he was thrilled beyond belief. He just loved that I would take the time, and he explained a lot of customs to me and the class. He spoke Russian, and we have a lot of students from Russia and the former Soviet countries so he did have kids to become friendly with, but eventually the parents transferred him out.

My point is just that while cultures all have their unique and beautiful customs, they have to be subsumed by the laws that are in place. A missing child, with a mother giving evasive and contradictory information, needs to be located. That takes precedence.

I don't think it appeared in print but you can hear her comment about the snacks on the floor near the very end of this video:

@PommyMommy - thanks for reposting the video. Having watched it again, I found the following to be unusual and/or disturbing given the circumstances of this missing child case:

First and most important was the only genuine sign of grief or distraught that I saw by MB midway through the interview. After nonchalant responses to the interviewer's questions, I thought MB's emotions telling when she said that she missed EB's scent or smelling EB and missed not being able to hold her. IMO, her reaction here was the knowledge that she would never be able to smell or hold her baby EB again.

While it's also unknown why MB appeared in court on that date, she told the reporter that she told nobody that she was due in court. When further pressed, she indicated that her grandmother would definitely have been there if she was aware MB had a court date.

I just saw it reported today by MSM for the first time that MB is only 18 years old. At this time, I'm more inclined to believe that MB's court appearance was about an unrelated prior juvenile court matter than an issue specific to EB. Had it been about EB, I think networks would have reported that CPS declined to comment and/or discuss the hearing when contacted.

Relative to someone believed trustworthy (i.e., AB) to be caring for EB while MB worked, how could one trust an individual that prohibits the mother from having any contact with their child for more than 60 days when providing childcare! Obviously MB was not working 24/7 for the past two months at the Chicken Shack.

I've long believed that EB may have had an accident where EB could not be revived or MB discovered EB deceased while under her care -- and she contacted her mother for help. AB appears to be no stranger to the criminal court and may have disposed of the baby's body-- counting on nobody alerting authorities -- thinking she was saving her daughter from criminal negligence charges.

MB told the reporter that MB's favorite thing was taking a bath -- perhaps EB left unattended and drowned in the tub. MB indicated EB could open packets of apple sauce or snack containers and may have choked. I think the plastic reseal tab might be attractive for a teething baby and also an easy a choking hazard.

Lastly, based on MB's statements thus far, I think it possible that MB did in-fact lie to AB/WM that she had purchased the BMW when they drove it to NC. I think MB would have probably done anything to appease WM (AB's boyfriend) to keep his silence -- including buying them a vehicle, is she thought he had knowledge about EB's death -- accidental or otherwise.

So now that local LE, TBI, and the FBI are involved, who does the interrogating? The TBI? FBI? Anyone know? Wasn’t it CBI that broke Chris Watts even though FBI was also involved?

Nope. The closest one is in NC. I just have a feeling she thinks it's making her seem more credible talking about it so much... MOO!

Here is the transcript of the 11 minute interview outside the courthouse on Friday.

Maggie Boswell Interview 1

Never once does she say 'Evelyn'

And I can't figure out this bit:
MB: No, until they, took her, no. Then after that I was like well if anything happens, I worry they will run with her. And to be honest with you I didn’t know how good the team was up here and if I did I would have called the second that I realized, they are very good. Like I said, they are doing everything they can I’m very confident in that, and that makes the situation a lot easier.

She was worried they would run, if something happens, AFTER they had already taken her?
Huh?

(Not touching the next interview until tomorrow)

I'm not sure who is doing the interrogating but I sure hope they are making some progress.

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The mother of a 15-month-old Tennessee girl who is the subject of an Amber Alert said her mother took her toddler to Mendota, Virginia, which is a small community in Washington County.

Megan Boswell told WCYB that her mother took Evelyn Mae Boswell to a campground.
She also told the news station that she is pregnant again.

Authorities later searched the area and didn’t find the girl, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office told the station late Monday.

The child’s grandmother, Angela Boswell, and her boyfriend, William McCloud, were arrested last week in North Carolina on fugitive warrants unrelated to the toddler’s disappearance, Wilkes County Sheriff’s Lt. Logan Kerr said.

Angela Boswell and William McCloud arrested after car sought in AMBER Alert found in N.C. (Wilkes Co. Sheriff's Office)

They agreed on Monday to be extradited back to Tennessee.

Boswell told the judge she wanted to return home and resolve the situation with her granddaughter, news outlets reported.
