In New York, you cannot buy or sell a car without a valid title. I'm assuming that's the same in every state? If it true in every state, then if there was no exchange of title, it can't be true that MB gave them a car as a gift. She'd have had to sign the title over to them. Therefore I think it is accurate to say that the car is stolen property, since MB didn't pay for it, either.

As to EP, if Evelyn is returned safely, he can get a DNA test to prove paternity. I understand he's not on the birth certificate, because Evelyn doesn't have his surname and he and MB aren't married. Since he is active duty and can be deployed, and his father has passed and mother is ill, if he has no other relatives to care for her, then what? I don't know much about the military but is there some kind of compassionate leave that allows someone in his position to resign his military commitment?
All moot until/unless Evelyn is found alive.

My opinion is based on past cases I have followed plus the fact that LE in this case believe the baby is still alive.

I get not having another law on the books but if a person with custody of a child can get by with not reporting a child missing for an infinite amount of time with zero consequences then where’s the justice in that for the child that is 100% dependent on that person for their care and protection?

I was thinking of Elizabeth Johnson and baby Gabriel. She says she handed him off to strangers and only served 5 yrs. convicted of custodial interference and unlawful imprisonment charges. Baby Gabriel is still missing and she is living life.

I think at this juncture a black market adoption is as legitimate as any other suggestion. I personally believe Evelyn is dead.

I agree. I feel like she has become another one of the throwaway babies in the south. It happens every day down here, and maybe other places too, but this is the news I hear more than other areas.

The so-called mother knows exactly what happened to that child and it sure isn’t difficult to hide a deceased baby, especially when you have so much time to contemplate the best place for disposal.

Others know exactly what happened, too. And there will be no justice.

JMO and I sure hope to be wrong.

My point was just that we don't know Ethan's involvement with Evelyn. And he is stationed in LA. Grandpa is in Blountville...he had the ability to lay eyes on this child on a regular basis, if he chose to do so. Not so simple for Ethan. For all I know, MB could have been sending him video that was old and saying, " Here she is. Healthy and healthy ! Nothing to see here. "

I mean...honestly, who knows what she told Ethan ? Or anyone else for that matter.

This is where phone data will also come into play. And if she truly left Evelyn with someone then there should also be calls, emails, texts from MB checking up on Evelyn.

In terms of negligence, MB's actions aren't even in the same hemisphere compared to those of a reasonable person. But that's JMHO.

I'm judgey too, Honey , I'm just not judgey when it comes to Ethan because I don't believe he had anything to do with this child's disappearance.

In terms of the new video and pics we're seeing from TBI, I'm almost certain that it came from AB's phone. Which at least gives me some hope that more info of relevance to LE is now coming to light.

Plenty of people use a pack n play instead of a crib or bassinet, they’re portable, cheaper, take up less space if you’re in a small apartment, etc.

You can also have both.

We kept the pack & play with bassinet attachment up in our living room even though we had a crib in the nursery and a fancy bassinet in our bedroom for the whole first year.

Not sure why you are telling me this..... I’m a mother; we had both for our baby. I never said it was weird that they had a pack n play. Just that it made me wonder what her living arrangements were. Feel free to read my post again.

Two months head start is a long time. I just feel if she was handed off to someone else in the Family they would have come fwd by now.
LE has to start at the beginning and sort through this mess. Like others have mentioned hopefully cell messages and calls will give a picture.

Yes, but then you would just say “my sister is watching the baby” or “the baby is with my in-laws this weekend.” or even “my aunt is babysitting for us.” You normally wouldn’t say “x is with a babysitter” if the person watching the child is a close family member. JMO.

You might not. But my my sister was my babysitter, I was hers. I’m my cousin’s babysitter. It’s just way easier to say “a babysitter” than go into specifics. YMMV.
