Sorry, double post.

Why are we taking MB’a word that she’s pregnant? She’s so deceptive so far. Could this be another ploy to get out of the polygraph since “they can’t do it due to policy?”

I think a more important point is that there is no need to bring culture into the discussion at all unless we know there is some kind of connection. Imo

I have not commented at all on any of the customs or norms associated with this culture, but it was MB who made it a point to bring this up when given the platform to discuss any topic she wanted related to her missing daughter. I am also not a fan of disparaging any group or culture, however, discussing customs associated with a cultural group that the mother felt strongly enough to emphasize in her interview with MSM is totally understandable, IMO.

It’s certainly possible she is lying, but I think word around town was that she was saying this before any investigation began.

I'm curious as to how exactly MB's is going to fly up to Mendota and get Evelyn when all she reportedly knows is that "a person in a silver camper" has her ? I mean, she either knows where this child is or she doesn't .

Maybe she's an empath ? Or proficient with a dowsing rod ?
I'm thinking the silver camper doesn't exist. Much like the apartment that Zanny the Nanny lived in didn't exist. Jmo

After all the BS she said in last night's interview, I'm honestly starting to think that this " broken arm " story actually WAS something she told HW. And if she DID tell him that, WHY did she tell him that ?

So many lies coming out of this girl's mouth ! DCS took her...Ethan had her... Grandma had her... someone in a silver camper in Mendota, Va has her...last saw her on the 26 ... last saw her just before Christmas...

UGH !

So when we finally hear AB's story will it be as off the rails as MB's, clear things up (she provides new and useful information), or be the same as where we are now (because she is not involved)?

I haven't seen any verification that she had a job at all. Whatever it was, it is not an excuse as to why she would not demand to see her baby or allow two months to go by without calling LE or reporting the baby missing.

Her love and concern for her child should outweigh the fear of her own mother. If she had called police and her mother had not produced the child then she would have been arrested then and she would have no reason to fear her.

But then again the investigation would have started much earlier which might not have been to her benefit.

Imo
RBBM ^^^THIS!!!

I don't remember her saying she felt strongly about it. I thought she said it was the grandfather who was proud of it, and she was addressing the rumors associated with that lifestyle.
I just don't see any point in discussing the culture unless there is some kind of connection to the case. Even if it is common to pass off a child to someone else who can better care for the child, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is the custodial parent who is responsible for the child. Imo

If the mom is pregnant, social services will take custody of the baby when it is born and oversee pregnancy dr visits. JMO

I think it can add an interesting dynamic. We have a poster here of Romani heritage who said it wouldn’t be a big deal to not have photos from Christmas. That’s one thing many people have been asking about. A lot of us thought it was weird for her to want to do the interview in a cemetery, we were informed being close to a loved one could give her a sense of strength. They also described how sometimes children will live with other families in the community.

I tried to say the word “gypsy” was a slur in the last thread and someone jumped down my throat saying it wasn’t in some countries. You really can’t win sometimes, we just need to be respectful.

I’m SO Angry! Between this case & Gannon Stauch idk what LE are doing! Arrest these monsters!
Agreed and they should lengthen sentences when convicted. How many child murder cases (by the parent/significant other) have we seen here where they end up serving less than 10 years.

Mind blown and heart broken. :(

Well, Maggie, it’s the afternoon and they didn’t find her last night, so did you go and find her yourself like you said?

I was up until 2 listening to the police scanner while they searched trailers because I can’t get this case off my mind.

I'm still waiting to see where in Gypsy (to use MB's own word), Traveller, or whatever type of culture their family adheres to, it is written that people should go to a cemetery to talk about missing children. (Have they searched said cemetery for any unaccounted-for turned-over dirt, btw?) . I mean, a child is missing and might be dead. Doesn't it seem a little cocky and tempting fate to stroll to a gravesite to talk about her, let alone the optics?

When given the platform to discuss or clarify ANYTHING they want to with the media, a normal person with a missing child would ONLY discuss something they felt strongly about during those precious few minutes of opportunity. This is why I phrased my response as such. She was asked if there was anything she wanted to talk about or clarify and that is what she chose to discuss.

I assume if a female is arrested, a pregnancy test is SOP?
