Lots of first time parents depend very heavily on their own parents for childcare, which may be the situation here.

Have any news media commented on any link between the two? Looks like same time period missing and location.

Nope. Some of us have wondered, though. And now we have a 19 month old child found dead in a home in Johnson City, and zero info about that either. Incredibly frustrating, but we are in a VERY low crime area and our local news coverage isn't really prepared for "big news". Small news either, really, but I'm trying to be kind to them.

But wouldn't kidnapping compound their legal issues? Why not drop the baby back off with her mother?

I’m only 30 seconds into the interview and she says “She loves to take baths, that was her favorite thing.”

I’m concerned that she’s saying it “was” her favorite thing, in the past tense.

It’s interesting that in the interview she says that she can’t say who has Evelyn but says “I’m sure they will at 2 at the press conference.” She seemed to think the sheriff was going to tell her version of events and instead he basically said her story wasn’t lining up with what they were finding.

Nothing about this mother's story rings true.

Being away from your baby for even a few hours is hard and no normal mother would tolerate someone keeping hers for two months!

The giddiness before she mustered a few tears in the interview adds to my concern. It's so reminiscent of Casey Anthony's demeanor after Caylee's "disappearance".

I hate to say it but I think we can anticipate bad news.

Ya'll haven't had shady family members and it shows. lol

Didn't LE say at the press conference that there was CCTV footage or video of some sort that contradicted mom's statements to them?

Correct, I do not have any shady family members. (At least not that I am aware of)
Though I'm not sure how my lack of having that sort of familial make up has anything to do with what LE shared with the public in the press conference. (aka mom's info is unreliable, I tend to agree, regardless of if there is an "honest explanation for it" or not, it's not reliable)
