A friend who lives in Blountville told me directly that the local LE have been on a speed trap/ speeding ticket binge the past few days. Glad they’re pulling out all the stops to find this missing child. o_O

Maybe that's the "felons are often caught on misdemeanors" principle?

Or they think someone is speeding away with the evidence?

I think they’re just way in over their heads.

Evelyn Boswell: Grandmother of missing Tennessee tot says her arrest was ‘nothing more than a civil matter’
[...]

News 5 reports that Boswell declared that her arrest was “nothing more than a civil matter” while at the Sullivan County hearing. Boswell, along with her boyfriend William McCloud, who also had a court hearing Wednesday morning, was arrested in North Carolina, inside a grey BMW that had been reported stolen.

[...]

Lauderback allowed Boswell time to find a lawyer and rescheduled the hearing for March 24 at 9 a.m.

According to News Channel 11, McCloud blew kisses and mouthed “I love you” to Angela Boswell during his court hearing. He, too, is scheduled to return to court on March 24.

McCloud was returned to jail after the hearing since he has not made bail. ...

This is sadly looking to be pretty accurate. I’ve noticed the same kind of thing around the area over the past few days. Naturally, this is anecdotal but it seems to be what’s going on. Could be part of some effort on traffic safety or a drug interdiction push or it just could be increasing visibility.

I’m sure there are plenty of fine men and women giving their all on this case, but it’s starting to look like it’s more of a PR campaign that the higher ups are managing. So many feel good stories of the community stepping up and honoring LE, but little in the way of information or progress.

Not meant to degrade LE at all, but this case is starting to wear on and the general appearance is that not much is being done. There may very well be more going on behind the scenes that they can’t discuss or tip themselves off, but I don’t think the silence coupled with an incompetent local media are doing this investigation any favors. MOO and all that...

Absolutely. The articles about pizza and cupcakes are just an embarrassment.

Yuk ... who takes their cleavage to court? Watching their court antics makes me nauseous ... but I did like the Judge, seems he has no patience for the nonsense ... but where is Evelyn? And why don’t any of them seem to care? I just don’t get it ... some ... or all of them know ... MOO

I usually agree with you, Athenna , but I do think those kinds of stories are important to the community as a whole, because they provide something uplifting in an absolutely horrible situation. We are hurting for this child. And whatever anyone thinks of LE handling Evelyn's case...they are hurting too, and we are going to support them however we can. I don't see that as a negative.

I’m just frustrated. Normally I’d say it would be a good thing, rallying community support, but it seems like fluff when the perception is that not enough is behind done to find her.

I’m not sure what else LE could be doing. EB has been missing for months and no one bothered to mention it until a few weeks ago. And now no one will talk, other than to spew BS.

They have followed the leads they have been given but they started out with a cold trail. They have arrested some of the players. Not for her disappearance but maybe to make those involved uncomfortable.

We don’t know what they are doing behind the scenes — they certainly aren’t going to make everything public.

Look back at other cases of missing babies and small children. A hefty percentage of them are unsolved. This group knows they don’t have to give LE info. MB was ignorant to tell so many lies instead of just shutting her mouth. If she had done that she would not have been arrested.

LE can’t really organize searches since there’s no clue where to look. It’s probably also tough to get search warrants in this case.

Hoping things will change but not holding my breath for now.

I see what you're saying, and I know the statistics about missing children, I guess I'm just surprised in this case because the key players all seem like idiots incapable of a foolproof coverup.

Why do you think it would be tough to get search warrants in this case? (Not being snippy, genuinely want to hear your perspective.)

Show of hands, if you’ve been following the case since February 19th, would you have guessed that Evelyn or her remains would have been found by March 4th? (I’m having trouble wording this question correctly, but basically if someone asked you during the first week, would you have anticipated that 18 days later Evelyn would still be missing.)

ETA: I agree that it sucks that there is no more information at this time, but I think it's for the best.

Also, I’m very curious to see if any members currently believe that LE has a very good idea of what is going on and is close to a conclusion, but keeping it quiet?

I think that LE probably is building a case and know way more than they're letting on. If you look at what has happened from them giving information to the public previously, I don't blame them one bit for not releasing a single tid bit. They don't owe anyone anything. I don't have thoughts on when I expected Evelyn or her remains to be found, I was just hopeful that it would be sooner than later. How long has Gannon Stauch been missing? IMO, JMO.

I’m not surprised they haven’t found Evelyn. How long did it take to find Caylee? Baby Lisa has never been found. When the person/persons don’t even report a missing baby until 2 months later.......she might never be found.

These stories help keep EB’s name in the media. You never know if someone might have seen something, maybe someone who was in town over the holidays and left, but doesn’t keep up with TN news on a regular basis.

Not letting her name fade away could help trigger memories overall — sometimes people don’t realize that they might have witnessed something significant.

I agree...IMO I wouldn't doubt Evelyn was playing at the "compound" and there was an accident. Some probably know, while the other half don't.IMO Most likely they believe as long as nobody tells the truth, nothing can be done to them. The fact the MBs mothers boyfriend shows up at his great grandmothers wet, claiming their hotel had a water leak, asking for money, and the great grandmother claims he only shows up when wants money. Leads me to believe something happened to this little girl, and they're all just covering for one another because of it. She may have been left alone, or some unfortunate accident while under 1 of their care. Either way, unless somebody can break them, I fear this lovely little girl is not going to be found. Hope I'm wrong. Hurts my heart to imagine all these children not taken care of like they deserve and should be. Hope to God maybe the sold Evelyn to a real nice couple who couldn't have kids, promised to give her a better life. But I just don't think that's the case. This is all MOO JMO
