Too bad Evelyn's grandfather and great grandfather don't allow property searches in wooded areas, just to let be sure seeing that MB had access to so much property!

I mean offering to let them out of concern for Evelyn.... was just a thought that they have so much property and it seems nobody really had any idea where she could be unless someone has given info we don't know about

I agree with your thought process. If I was the one calling to report my missing grandchild, knowing she had been on my property close to the last time she had been known alive, and that property was a vast amount of land, I would be begging LE to bring out search dogs to rule out that she was anywhere out there.

And, wasn't TB the one who said he and his new wife would ask MB, on more than one occasion, to bring the baby by for a visit but MB didn't bring her by. MB brought Evelyn for a visit around Thanksgiving and TB and wife never saw Evelyn again after that in spite of inviting MB to their home... it seems during the very time MB was living in TB's mobile park home. This makes me think there was some tension already going on... otherwise I would think that TB could have just dropped by the mobile home to visit and would have been welcomed to do so. But, apparently, that didn't happen and probably not by his choice, imo. I'm wondering if TB already had objections to certain elements of MB's lifestyle way back in October and November that was causing problems between two.

According to DJ (MB's grandfather), MB and HW visited AB almost daily at DJ's home and he only saw the baby twice since she was born.

I have a feeling that MB lied to AB just as she lied to everyone else. She told the old "silver trailer in Mendota story and AB hoped it was true... soon figured out it wasn't... but not before she was given the car to go up there and "get Evelyn back."

I don't think MB would confess to anything with her new "hubby, little does he know," HW standing right there beside her during their daily visits to AB and WM. ...and, HW or not... I don't think she ever tells the truth. Up in Mendota WM might have gotten wet doing a little bit of sleuthing on his own. The grand finale was getting arrested for the stolen car! I bet if MB had been within their reach at that moment, she'd still be in the hospital.

There's a reason that TB appears to favor AB over MB and it's family history, imo. Imo, MB has been a big family problem for a very long time. Nobody wanted her to have that baby and she went ahead and the had baby anyway, of course.... she never did listen to anyone else and now look what's happened. Just exactly what we all knew would happen and told her would happen... another MB **** storm, as always.

Yes, there were campgrounds searched in Mendota. LE said that was thoroughly investigated (paraphrasing).

Its kind of the perfect time for someone to go missing in a divided family. This would be the one time of year it would be reasonable to spend a couple of months with the other parent, particularly if they were military and only had very structured leave. It makes you sick to think about.

I honestly think MB planned it so she could be with HW. I don't think she wanted EB after HW came into her life.

Once she was questioned on where EB was that's when she started with the lies and finger pointing. I would like to think the other family members were suspicious, but the thought of MB killing EB most likely didn't cross their minds. I mean who would think a family member could do something like that? It would take a lot for me to think one of my family members could do something like that. This is stuff of nightmares and you never think something like this will happen in your family. It's quite possible her family members are completely shocked and have no idea how MB buffaloed them the way she did.

I agree with your thought process. I can think of a few scenarios where someone might not want certain areas of their property searched. But I won't go there, lest I drive another WSer screaming from the thread with their hair on fire.

Can they find some kind of child endangerment charge against MB, just to make sure they keep her even longer in custody? Something that wouldn't interfere woth harsher charges later after Evelyn is found?
I hope no matter the circumstances they find Evelyn. I just wish there were more options, better laws against people like this monster at this stage of an investigation. IMO its obvious who is responsible.

Even though MB seemed like an ok mom from the photos, she may have thought she'd just have another baby with HW and then he couldn't leave her. I keep coming back to the giving him his own child conclusion as well. I just hate the thought of Evelyn suffering in such a way. I know its likely it was something bad but I am hoping in my mind she had too much of a medication and died while she was sleeping. I cannot bring my self to thinking of so much suffering for that little girl. I just can't right now.

Alethea, I'm curious if you think that AB and WM were involved if MB drowned EB. Not asking because I am doubting or disagree, just mostly curious because that's a very specific incident. TIA!

I think early on I recall HW speaking that he was only with MB for a few weeks his demeanor appeared like it was nothing serious and sort of a fling for lack of better words. HW appeared much older than MB. Maybe she was thinking older guy lots of money new life goodbye old life IMO

My mother lives in Union SC and you made me think of Susan Smith.. ugh. Another thought is she could have placed Evelyn in a carseat or something that could restrain her and put her in a lake, pond, river over a bridge somewhere. Just thinking out loud.
