Offered LE the option to search under the restrictions they outlined, I assume. Attorney LD didn't expand on the details in the news article, but I would find it VERY hard to believe that they first told LE they could search without limitations and then later changed their mind and demanded rules and restrictions to the search. Those rules and restrictions must have been there from their very first offer -- and in light of that, I personally don't blame LE for not taking them up on it.

Agree. I picture MP doing exactly as he did at the pressor. Checking with his lawyers.....even to leave LE at the door while the call is made and passing the cell to them for the answer. No way in halo would a paid attorney allow LE to check his affair having husband of a client-- of the missing wife's house or property. imo

TBH, I'm a little confused on your perceptions of what AD states. It seems some things she has stated you don't put alot of faith in....and other times like this with the DVR it's taken full heartedly. ?? If doubting AD...I would doubt this also, in theory. imo. As, stated previously, I think she turned it over

Oh no. Make no mistake. I have questions about everything Arlene has said at this point. I don't feel I can rely on a single thing she has said, because she has put her own credibility into question for me, primarily by changing so many of her stories. There is nothing she has said that I accept wholeheartedly.

She could well be lying again, and playing games, and jerking everybody's chain, saying she refuses to turn over the DVR, but actually has turned it over. Sheesh. I hope not.

I think retaining a criminal defense attorney from the get go makes a big difference in the investigation. This is one thing that has bothered me so much. Why does everyone involved need a criminal lawyer? In my opinion, it's one of many huge red flags in this case. I know there are some famous cases where innocent people hired a criminal attorney, but that is usually after LE has put a lot of pressure and heavy suspicion on them. I haven't seen that situation here. Certainly speculation and suspicion from the public, but not from LE that we have seen. JMO

It may be true that he had some kind of problem with other legalities...ie: BCBS or financials...or both, but imo, that could be the straw that broke the camel's back for a motive in GP's missing also. This is why I'm bit a curious why it was stated he was getting his friend/lawyer in AL (the one who GP confided in) to take over his case with BCBS for wrongful termination? jmo

Did anyone ever learn what her actions were?

Not that I know of. All I know is that she said at that time she says she was driving by Tammy's house, calling her home phone and her work phone, and she went and visited Tammy's ex-husband. No idea if any of that is related.

Are files really ever deleted? That's an honest question. I know I may delete something off my computer, but can't experts pretty much recover a lot files that we "believe" are deleted?

Absoutely, I've learned even if they have been overwritten, a good forensic computer expert can go layer by layer and retrieve evidence.

Hmm. This is kind of interesting to me. We have a 'family plan' (it's actually used as a 'business' plan, so to speak- so as to provide phones for mutilple users) and any primary account holders can make changes to the account. We have multiple primary account holders. So in other words, I can cancel a number, suspend a number, place limitations on a number, upgrade a phone, transfer a number to a new phone etc- because I am one of the primary account holders on our plan. So could anyone else, who I -or any other primary account holder- has authorized as a primary account holder. :waitasec:

Food for thought. Thanks, Melodie.

Well...to follow this line of thought...if I have your computer pass codes, I can do virtually anything to your account as of this very moment. I wouldn't even have to be on the family plan. I wouldn't have to be in the family at all. A bit scary what all can be done by computer.

Wow! That is not good.

I'm also curious about why that was stated - by Arlene, right?

There's never been a single thing saying he any kind of wrongful termination suit going in the media or anywhere else. Weird.

We saw the copies of the police reports for the 911 calls -- were there copies of the missing persons report(s) too? If they were released, I can't find them.

Just going through some old stuff and realizing how little was released about Gail. No one ever told us what she was wearing. If she made plans or told LE about her plans, no one ever mentioned it. If she made calls after the ones right around 12:15 PM on the 30th, we don't know about it. Frustrating.

LE apparently did a well check after DN's call and no one was home. I'd be curious if LE called MP at work in checking also....and prompted MP for the missing report? DN called around 11 am or so and IIRC, it was in the late afternoon or evening when MP reported her missing. But, I'd like to see that MP report myself.

:twocents:I think you are correct, Em. It was my understanding she offered it to them early on and they were not interested. Then, they came to her later and asked for it. I, like others have already said, believe that she may have turned it over to them, but she was told to keep quiet about it. That is just my opinion. She did say in the Jammer interview and other places that she was not going to turn it over except under her conditions. Her condition was that a copy would be made by her local LE and they would turn the copy over to the authorities here. She has definitely kept a much lower profile recently and it is my opinion that she was instructed to do that. If she did not turn a copy over by now, I do not understand that. The LE involved in this case seem to want to keep everything very quiet and out of the media. They may not want her to talk about the DVR anymore. This is all just my opinion.

BBM...Interesting.. JMHO

Lee Davis has stated that within 15 minutes of being retained, which was very early on, he contacted LE and offered for them to search the property. LE turned him down.

I'll find the article and link it if anyone wants it. Just holler.

Please, IF you will... I don't recall ever hearing or reading that tidbit of information..

Attorney Lee Davis said the husband of a missing Signal Mountain woman has been open to a search of all his property from the day his wife vanished.

Attorney Davis said, "I told Signal Mountain (Police) in the first 15 minutes of talking to them about the case that they were welcome to search any of Matt Palmgren's property."

Thanks, ThoughtFox- brings me back to direction of travel.
While I certainly think there is something odd about the trip to AL, and reports by friends surrounding it- doesn't really matter. I am as certain as I can be (given cell and vehicle pings) that Gail did indeed go to AL, return to SM, and then depart again.

Where 27 intersects/ turns into 24...south of there- does anyone know if any or all of the Cummings rd river accesses were flooded that day?

No, but I will make an attempt to find out...

I can tell you that as smart as the people are that work only on computers, no matter how much of an expert they are or think they are, the FBI can trump them and they will NOT give out their secrets.

I'm just saying this because we recently had a case here on Websleuths and during the trial, the accused was a SUPER expert in his field. When the FBI testified for the pros, the camera was turned off and his testimony was limited to what the def was given as to how he was able to access the deleted files. Something he accessed was part of what got the accused convicted of murder. His def is appealing based on computer data, but, IMHO, they're not going to win.

Bottom line, the now convicted murderer thought he was SMARTER than everyone else but the FBI got 'em. We just don't know, what we don't know! ;)

FWIW,
fran

Could LE think AD may be compromising their efforts? In other words, they could be trying to find evidence of a crime, but to them, she keeps on compromising the case. We don't know what is going on behind the scenes. They may be doing more than we think. Perhaps, they are just not publicizing anything yet, until they have something solid.

Oh. He's not saying he called LE within 15 minutes of being retained. He says he offered searches "the first 15 minutes of talking to them" with "them" being Signal Mountain Police. (Bolded by me.) That is COMPLETELY different than saying he was calling LE within 15 minutes of being retained by Matt.

hmmm. You're right. It must be because it says the day Gail vanished, I put the two concepts together as within 15 minutes of being retained. But he wasn't even retained the day Gail vanished.

I need to pay attention to my signature - reading is fundamental. :)

That article doesn't state LD called LE within 15 minutes after he was retained as MP's lawyer. Also , that article is dated June 18th.. Wonder when LD actually first spoke with LE...JMHO

Yes, it had stuck in my head as 15 minutes of being retained. I don't know why.

Thanks for pointing it out.
