Someone give me a link on that? I don't have a link saying Gail specifically told LE she was dropping the kids off. We've heard multiple stories, that she called MP directly, called LE and told them to tell MP the kids were there, etc. Is there anything definite on that? Thanks.

On the other part, let's say she told LE her plans -- did they follow up on them? Why hasn't someone released that info to help with searches? It would help a LOT to know that Gail was headed for X and never made it there.

Could LE think AD may be compromising their efforts? In other words, they could be trying to find evidence of a crime, but to them, she keeps on compromising the case.

I would hate to think that LE has had opportunities to gain evidence of what happened to Gail - whether a crime or not - and Arlene had ruined it, but that could well be.

IIRC, in the last Susan Murphy Milano interview with Arlene, Susan said that Gail had called LE and asked them to call Matt to ask him to come to the house for the kids.

I don't know how Susan could possibly know that though. I doubt that LE is giving Susan case information, and there was an article that said LE had not even told Diane what they discussed with Gail.

I can most definitely relate...I shudder to think LE could have possibly obtained some useful information from the children and MP has, thus far, prevented that from happening....JMHO.

Everyone seems to forget that Gail talked with LE on the 30th, as she was dropping the children off at home. Wonder what SHE said to LE. Did she tell LE her plans?? Would go far in explaining their reactions.

If they knew she was taking off, I doubt they would bother coordinating the water search or the property searches, even down the line.

I don't think we officially know Gail called LE after dropping the kids off. I knew it sounded familiar and finally found the source of the claim that Gail called LE around 12:15 because MP wasn't at the house like she expected. Unfortunately, it's an "unofficial" version of events because it was only on a webpage for about a day before it was removed. So that complicates discussing it...

I have a Question that is kinda off topic but not all together off topic..Hope thats ok...Im curious about this place called Signal Mountain and why does it sound so familliar. Has something else happened on this mountain in the past maybe a crime or another Missing person or even climbers that didn't make it down . I don't have a specific Incident in my mind only that I thought for some reason it had sounded really familliar but from something else happening there..anyone know of anything ??

Hmm. This is kind of interesting to me. We have a 'family plan' (it's actually used as a 'business' plan, so to speak- so as to provide phones for mutilple users) and any primary account holders can make changes to the account. We have multiple primary account holders. So in other words, I can cancel a number, suspend a number, place limitations on a number, upgrade a phone, transfer a number to a new phone etc- because I am one of the primary account holders on our plan. So could anyone else, who I -or any other primary account holder- has authorized as a primary account holder. :waitasec:

As well I found it interesting that an employee was able simply by sending an email with my with my name listed to add a cell no questions asked till i reviewed the phone bill and had it specified that it required me in person to sign for any new phones/plans etc.

I can tell you that as smart as the people are that work only on computers, no matter how much of an expert they are or think they are, the FBI can trump them and they will NOT give out their secrets.

I'm just saying this because we recently had a case here on Websleuths and during the trial, the accused was a SUPER expert in his field. When the FBI testified for the pros, the camera was turned off and his testimony was limited to what the def was given as to how he was able to access the deleted files. Something he accessed was part of what got the accused convicted of murder. His def is appealing based on computer data, but, IMHO, they're not going to win.

Bottom line, the now convicted murderer thought he was SMARTER than everyone else but the FBI got 'em. We just don't know, what we don't know!

This also made me think of another option regarding the ping on the 2nd. If you call/check voice mail on your cell from another phone, your cell phone (wherever it is) will ping for the provider, which in turn can give you the tower or satellite it's likely using for reception.

I wonder if it's possible that someone else called Gail's vm from another phone.

I can also see how LE perhaps asked to speak to him and he told them to speak with his atty...or he notified LE he had an attorney representing him.

Truthfully, I am rather perplexed by this entire situation.

I believe this is a multifaceted case- or should I say, case(s). And not all necessarily connected to one another in the way it might initially appear.

I haven't seen anything that tells us definitively the date Matt retained his attorney.

Arlene stated that in the week prior to Gail disappearing, Matt told her he was going to file for legal separation the following Tuesday, which was May 3. He may have kept that appointment and retained his attorney then. I dunno.

Then the docs he filed were dated May 6, which was that Friday. I would think he would have had to retain by at least the day before to get all the docs written up.

I'd say probably some time between Tue May 3 and Thu May 5. Just a guess though.

So many want to discredit AD, but out of all of Gail's friends she is the one friend who has stood up and demanded something be done to find her friend. I have never seen anything that says that AD didn't tell the truth. As far as the DVR goes, I thought she made it clear that she would give LE a copy of it but she was going to make certain that MP and his lawyers didn't wipe the dvr clean so she wouldn't turn it over to them. As far as I can see, AD hasn't done anything wrong but stand up for her friend. I would be more suspicous as to why MP's PI and attorneys took the computers instead of turning them over to LE, after all they are defense attorneys and their job is to protect their client. If MP didn't have anything to hide then why didn't he just turn it all over to LE in the beginning and let LE talk to the children? AD has from the beginning done everything in her power to find her friend and she is probably guilty of going out on her own to investigate this case because she probably feels LE isn't looking for her friend. Put yourself in AD's shoes, knowing what she knows and her friend goes missing and it doesn't appear as anybody is too concerned about finding her friend. I would want AD as my friend any day. How many of your friends would do what AD has done if you went missing and nobody was in any big hurry to find you? Thank you AD for being there for Gail. At least someone cares about Gail's wellbeing.

Just spoke with my friend and information given to me was the area wasn't flooded.. Houses were damaged, trees and power lines down everywhere on Cummings Hwy and Brownsferry Road but they didn't have a problem with flooding...

ETA.. Power wasn't restored until almost a week later at my friends home That area was hit hard so I suspect many did not have power...

Just color me clueless, but what is a hands free device?

Edit..... Also how would someone have knowledge of this unless they were with her when she left SM...And IF someone was with her I doubt they're gonna tell...JMHO..
