Hi Jeni. A couple things came from family members early on and that was one of them. It is always possible she had another license . Additionally that is how we know it was actually Gail that dropped off the kids at the house, that she was driving the jeep when she left and that she had the phone in her possession. Hope that helps.
Welcome!

That makes sense GP may have a TN license and/or an AL license since the Jeep was registered in Alabama. Was that considered GP's residence? TN law claims once you move to TN you must have your license changed within 30 days.

"All new or returning residents must surrender their out-of-state license at time of application for Tennessee license. Tennessee law does not allow a resident of this state to hold more than one valid driver license or ID. Only foreign country licenses/IDs may be retained." From
http://www.tennessee.gov/safety/driverlicense/dlnew.htm

As far as registration goes, you must prove residence, which can be with the Lake house and may be insured with the house insurance there also.

Does anyone legally know how that works with a TN license and a vehicle registered in another state, AL?

I can confirm that the PO sends a snail mail address change notification to the old address when it is changed online. We do this at my office several times a month and I personally moved just last year. It just tells you to disregard if you made the change. I also had to make a change for every single person in my household to make sure all mail was forwarded.

But the $1.00 charge on the CC does not confirm the old address it only confirms your identity in the event of a fraud. They know where to find you LOL.

I think another member here said that when you go into the PO they do not follow up with a snail mail notice.

As for the address change itself, my best guess is that she just changed it to a friends addy. Much like she left things at friend's homes, it seems to me she would do the same with mail.

Interesting, thanks for clearing that up!

So are we to assume ALL her mail was sent to another address for her to retrieve (and not have someone else going through it). That would be another reason that proves she may have planned to change residences, but not just disappear.

Since an address change was supposedly filed with USPS, it is safe to assume that all mail to Gail would be forwarded elsewhere. I believe that she was taking control of her destiny and was planning on a change in a very methodical way. Just not convinced that disappearing off the face of the earth was the plan.

If I was planning to leave my home, I would not have left a change of address with the USPS. I would have gone online to the companies I wanted mail from and changed the address there or changed everything to come online only. In fact we rarely get any mail unless it is junk mail or magazines. The only thing we get via usps is our water bill because they are not up to date on electronic stuff. All our 401K,other investments and bills send notices online not via the usps. But that is just me, I am sure most folks still get paper invoices, bills investment statements etc.

I surely hope she is some where hiding and is safe, but I really can't see her just leaving the kids behind especially if there was trouble in the marriage. I would not have left mine for any reason or not of my own doing.

Re: discussions of Gail having possibly had more than one druver's license.. Tho happy is 100% correct in stating that when no matter what circumstance(whether have been TN resident or have just moved here from another state) makes no difference.. Either way when receiving a new drivers license for whatever reason(change of address, renewal, or having lost and needing a replacement) one is to surrender all drivers license g
That u have valid or expired(when u turn them over they no longer keep them but rather just punch 2 large holes into the license and hand them back to you.. These holes are supposed to render the license no longer of any use, nor valid)..this infact is all true and accurate.

However, myself along with many others for whatever reasons(some purposefully, some not intentionally) have within our possessions more than one current and valid Tennessee Drivers license.. And I am only speaking about having more than one TN DL as I do not know how it would work with having other state issued DL...

Reason that I have 2 is because I for several weeks searched to no avail for my DL.. Finally concluded that as much as I despised having to go the DMV that I had no other choice but to go in order to receive a replacement/duplicate license..
Therefor I had no other license to surrender for them to hole punch.. Several weeks later my DL that was missing appeared.. So I now have 2 valid TN DL that are both good thru the year 2015...

Over the Years I have learned that this indeed is quite common for ppl to have more than one valid DL.. Some intentionally getting a duplicate for whatever reasons and others like myself having later found their original DL that was missing.. Giving me now 2 ids...

I'll admit my having this has safes my tail a time or two for various situations in which if I had not had a second DL I would have been up chit creek without a paddle..lol..

So, tho technically it is not allowed for a resident to have more than one valid DL you can now see that even tho that's true that it is not actually accurate and that many of us do indeed have 2 valid TN DLs..

Just thought I'd put that out there because the discussion of Gail possibly having another DL brought this to mind and thought others who may not be aware this indeed is a very real possibility..jmo

That was my point, she very well could have another one on her. Albeit, AL or TN, or KY (they were there also)!

Or it could just be the fact of the holiday weekend coming up. Probably after Monday things will start happening again. Channel 3 said there were more water searches planned, and I'm thinking that means either Chickamauga Lake or the Sequatchie River on the other side of the Mt.

But hey, maybe they found more suspicious stuff when they searched the Alabama home last week. It also takes time to follow up on sightings of the red jeep. Probably they are just doing good old-fashioned detective work behind the scenes.

Its been almost a month. I think if she disappeared on her own she'd have made a peep by now. ;_;

I saw a "life is good" tire cover the other day (Without the flower) made me a very sad mouse.

So it occurs to me that we have no idea what the 4-29 argument was about do we?

Re: we do not know what the argument that escalated to 911 being called was about..

Can we list what little it is that we do know about what occurred on 4/29..

1) we know that it was Gail that called 911

2) we know that at some point while officers were on the scene that they gave Gail numbers to "safe houses"

3) we know that Gail, the two kids, and dogs at some point went to the lake house in Alabama.

4) we know that at some point that night that Gail spoke with neighbor, Arlene but was not able to say much due to the kids being in the car.. She made the statement about her and Arlene going to a "happy" place that following day the 30th..

Can others add to any of the other things we know that happened or were stated on the 29th. These were the firsy couple that came to mind for me..

So what else do we know??

We know Gail disappeared the next day.

We don't know what it was about at all...Just maybe what we can glean from this article
http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_201004.asp

But all the article says is that the police were called and the incident was resolved by having MP agree to stay at Rock Ridge while Gail took the children to the lake house to spend the night.

I always thought the happy place comment was more wistful. sometimes I'll say things like that when I am stressed out. I could see her wistfully saying I want to go somewhere happy...whether physical or just a happy place in her life etc. but then her actual plans with arlene maybe more serious such as discussing something r/t marriage or separation or going over paperwork etc.

You know, I do not believe she left THIS long without being in contact with the kids ...maybe GP decided to MOVE to the lake house with the kids for the summer and then go from there, explaining address change and changing pin #'s on her account? Even though MP said it was marital asset, doesn't make it true. GP may have been considering a permament move and the kids would go to school there. GP was not working so there was no longer a reason for her to stay on Signal Mountain, leaving MP with the mortgage and GP with the paid off (?) lake house. This would keep the kids out of the divorce process. Maybe MP wanted to have the boat on Signal Mountain for his own plans. GP may not have been the one who drove the boat (or decided he would get that in the divorce). I suppose many things may have already been in the works. Maybe they were working through them and once she disappeared they all pointed to GP as crazy, planned or otherwise. Then something didn't happen as planned....GP disappeared, so what happen??? JMHO

maybe that's why she called 911 bc she didn't want him to take the boat from the lake house if she saw herself moving there. and maybe that's why he wanted to take it (if in fact that story was not made up, but he wanted to take it from lakehouse rather than to).

Also, there were some theories before that she also didn't want MP in her Jeep. MSM stated MP said GP accused him of breaking in before (band-aid, change of channel reference). I agree with a prior poster (sorry I can't remember who it was) that stated maybe she already had some of her stuff stashed somewhere in the Jeep to take to the lake house and didn't want MP to be alone with it for any amount of time.

We KNOW they were in the midst of a divorce, just nothing filed as of that day. But, they could have been planning what would happen once the kids finished school on the 24th. That sounds reasonable since they were barely dealing with each other the week before her disappearance.

Many (rumored) comments have been noted about how the media has embarrassed MP. The last thing MP (I surmise) would have wanted was media coverage on the affair, he was admin at BCBS and this does not shed him in a good light. Even if open inside the BCBS circle, a lot I know goes no further, from experience. Possibly MP made GP feel even less accomplished without working in her field, part of breaking her down. Could GP have threatened to expose that and other things she knew that could possibly tarnish MP's reputation that afternoon of the 29th? JMHO

I think it's important to stress to everyone out there that even the slightest thing remembered about GP is important. A friend told me, that her friend told her, she saw Gail going down the road and was crying hysterically, and she mentioned it because she said 'she had been there' but this was in reference to her children. Even so, I encouraged my friend, to have her friend, let LE know ASAP. Every little thing could help, even the direction she was going in, what if that was Saturday? Hopefully she did.

With that said, the childrens' school is very family and volunteer oriented. I can't imagine GP being any different in that respect, they have numerous programs and functions to attend. I hope many people have come forward to assist in even the smallest bit of information to be pieced together.

Maybe this is why it is so quiet? :dunno:

I wish we knew if LE has looked for Gail anywhere off the mountain other than the Lakehouse.

Going back to the hidden key/boat towing 911 call-we do not know the disposition of either adult and whether one of them was incapable of driving vehicles due to any emotional or physical impairment....maybe MP was sleepy. For example.

I am glad that the searches are being left to the pros because it is safer and controlled and thorough. And safer.

It is frustrating to everyone who loves and is worried about this special woman, no doubt. I have been impressed by Signal Mountain and HCSO. I think they are doing a great job, and I am praying that they find Gail. Soon.
