Okay so I will admit new on here (don't roll yours eyes at me ) lol what does LE stand for.

OK, I am frustrated. Let me start off with this so you understand my post-LE is in the middle of an active investigation. They are processing leads and evidence and trying to put the pieces of all of this together.

And yet, people have started dumping info from inside of the investigation to the media presumably because they dont see any signs of action from PD....? How does this make any sense?

Everything is at stake here. Everything. The integrity of the investigation, telegraphing the focus of the investigation, the locations that might be searched...I mean everything is out there. I have never seen anything like it.

This, fwiw, will infinitely hurt Gail's case in the long term....that is my belief. I know people are doing it from a place of caring, but please please please let PD do their job.

They have to be allowed to do their job. This is not TV. This is real life. A case like this is not solved in 60 minutes with commercials. ARGH.

This is a plea here-cooperation and encouragement will keep LE focused and interested. And every material witness who is taking to the airways is flushing their credibility right down the toilet.

I was wondering if...bearing in mind what she was doing at the time...Arlene purposely didn't mention the 5/30 occasion...and so perhaps we shouldn't be either. It could have been a mis-reporting...or not? I think personally that if Arlene didn't say it specifically in her interview, we shouldn't be talking about it. Actually, IMO most of that shouldn't have been in the interview either...but it's out there now.

I talked to Arlene and she clarified that she was in another state passing out flyers on 5-30-11. 30 after Gail went missing when she recieved the text from the LE. Gail went missing on 4-30-11. And was not reported till 5-2-11.
And also understand Arlene was made aware on the 4-26-11 that MP was going to come down and talk with the kids that weekend of the 30th. Arlene had no idea what took place that friday on 4-29-11 up in SM untill she heard from Gail VIA her cell phone when she was on her way down to Wetumpka . And we all know MP stayed behide in SM. And Gail returned to SM on 4-30-11 with the kids for some unknown reason.

Thanks knew it had to involve the police (LE) took me a while.

I believe what you are saying is true but I have to say the SMPD IS not your typical police department. I have witnessed Soccer Moms going up to the police and tell them how to run the department and they know that keeping bad light of the community is the number one thing. IMO I believe the police wanted this to stay a closed family matter and it would all go away. There is alot that goes on up on the mountain that is totally brushed under the rug. Remember their are alot of Chattanooga movers and shakers on the mountain actually on both of the mountains. I have even told a friend who lives on the mountain about a registered sex offender living in her neighborhood and would not believe me and came up with excuses (wrong data in system, etc., etc.) It is the mountain way. I hope and pray for continued comfort for Gail, her family, children and her friends.

If this is an okay topic to my knowledge not alot about MP has been discussed (it looks like he may have grown up here (mother and other siblings live in the area) Just a thought with the large amounts of cash withdraws could he have some sort of addition (gambling) don't know just throwing out stuff. That is alot of cash to go threw if you have recently gone to one paycheck household and with the economy the way it is.

Do we have an EXCELLENT, 100% accurate post icon? If not, I want one.

Do not waste LE's time, people. These are real people- not just Gail, but ALL of the missing. They ALL have someone who loves them and is hurting tremendously, and wants them found. In most cases LE works their butt off 24/7 to try and help find these people.

The media is only working for themselves- which is fine, it's a free country.

BUT.

Keep in mind that your freedom to swing a fist at someone, ends when it makes contact with anothers' face.

I passed a vehicle exactly like Gails yesterday, only it had a different spare tire cover on it. (It also had different plates.)
Which got me to wondering- the description of the vehicle has been very specific using both the tire cover, the hitch, and the plate.

All of which can very easily be changed. Kwim?

Was it red or crimson? Yes those things could be changed. From what I have read the crimson color is very rare. correct me if I am wrong. Gail's is crimson.

So, dear Matthew was burning through cash with the speed of light. And after divorce the money from Gail's accounts would be lost for him. I am extremely sorry to say that (and God knows I'd love to see Gail alive), but it makes great motive for murder.

I also agree with Believe's sentiments, but at the same time, RWB is correct. The SMPD is not your typical police department, and in this instance, I have a feeling that Arlene has learned this, or she wouldn't have come out and stated as much.

It was crimson. I have seen two in the past several weeks (two different ones.) Several red ones as well.

I'm frustrated with certain particulars regarding the case as well, and I think some of the criticisms of community politics are valid, but I am very concerned about the developing negative portrayal of our local LE in various media outlets, including WS. If we want them to eventually be successful in supporting a prosecution of this case against the appropriate party, we are not helping the cause by portraying them as incompetent and unconcerned. After all, they are what we've got, and maybe they'll do a better job if we can support and encourage them now. Just possibly they are doing a better job than they are getting credit for--just behind the scenes.

I think the game plan has changed in a huge way, since the initial stages of the case where the goal was to bring the case to the spotlight quickly. At that time, it was a "search and rescue" mission. Now that most people believe that is no longer realistic, techniques need to change.

In my opinion, this is just not the time and place for pointing out all the flaws with our town government. That can all happen in a different forum, perhaps within the community and through our elected officials. :twocents:
