Believe09, fwiw I'm with you entirely.

IMO, a lot of legal hands have now been tied because of all of the interference of this active investigation. I'd actually LIKE to see a few other homes tossed, but at this point everything is so contaminated- and Gail and her family are paying for it.

Reminder- this is not TV. I don't want to see a Lifetime movie made about Gail in a year or two. I want her found, and if someone(s) has committed a crime against her, I'd like to see justice done.
If this turns into something like a suicide or accident, my heart will break for both Gail and her children.

What this is, is by all accounts except one; a loving, caring mom who disappeared without a trace, leaving behind two children whom she loves very much, and family and friends that she was in contact with at the time and who also love her very much.

A women who disappeared after becoming increasing distraught after uncovering information about her husband (and therefore her life, and the future lives of her children) that was tremendously stressed- and I imagine infuriated, depressed, and scared- and was in the process of both realizing that, and trying to figure out how best to climb out of the darkness she had suddenly found herself in.

MOO, but forget the schitzophrenia or mental illness approach until we see ANY type of documentation that Gail was treated for anything of that sort. And even then, take into account that it appears she was struggling with the prospect of her entire life crumbling before her very eyes.

Ok- off rant here- but can we somehow get back to helping, and not hurting, the search for finding Gail and/or her jeep??

I would like to see any evidence that Gail was being treated for delusions or a "mental episode." If MP was that concerned about her, why did he leave to go on a trip the week before she disappeared? That dog won't hunt, in my opinion.

There are several articles that state that in court documents, Matt stated that Gail was on prescribed medications. If you'd like the links, just holler - I'm happy to pull them.

Personally, I don't consider the claims made in motions/complaints filed with the court to be "evidence." I consider them as claims yet to be determined as "evidence." And, to me, being "on prescribed medications"--even if true--is hardly significant to those claims.

While I don't think we should overlook the chance Gail could have had some mental issues, I'm concerned with the drift in today's posts that seem IMO to give that theory possibly more weight than is supported by the evidence. I think this is important because it relates so closely to the direction of the investigation, in terms of where to look for answers.

Who exactly is making the claims that Gail was clinically paranoid, delusional, or otherwise mentally unstable?

The only ones I recall are Matt and the attorneys hired to represent him. They have to come up with something to say, after all. Who else is making those claims?

In case any of my posts contributed to yours, I would like to clarify that I am interested in hearing all perspectives. And I am especially interested in your research. Just wondering if we have missed any specific evidence pointing to the mental instability theory for Gail's disappearance. Any statements of observations by anyone except those who have a motive for presenting her in this light.

Whoa-any theory is welcome. I am not convinced Matt killed her, so I for one am good with other approaches. People are resistent to the mental illness theory, but we also discussed and continue to discuss suicide so let's make sure we are treating everyone respectfully. Please.

Respectfully, no, no, no! that was MOO- that until we have some proof of mental health issues, either in the past or recent past, it's off my table for the time being.

I am open to ANY thoughts on where these trains of thoughts might untimately result in pointing to where Gail and/or her Jeep may be now.

I have no desire to tell people what or how they are allowed to discuss cases! You bring up many very interesting ideas. Frankly, I am still concerned that this was an accident or a suicide or something else entirely. Matt certainly doesn't smell too good to me at this point- but I'm open to all possibilities.

I'm just trying to figure out the many possible locations of where Gail or her Jeep might be right now.

Regarding Gail's mental health, she could have suffered some form of mental breakdown (from a variety of causes) and disappeared, yet she would need to be pretty together to hide her tracks so well.

Or her fears and actions were reasonable and justified because she was aware someone might cause her significant harm.

IMO we can only speculate. There is just not enough to go on.

My hope, but I don't think it very likely, is that Gail knew she was not safe, and decided to disappear completely in the hopes that an investigation would bring out all the truth.

Also a little tidbit, during a friend's divorce, when faced with the uncertainty of how it would go in court, she would get fearful enough to show some paranoia (worried that he had bugged the house, knew she had one too many drinks one night, worried he had been tailing her and saw her talking on the phone while driving, etc). When your whole world turns upside down it's hard to always keep a clear head. But there is a big difference between letting your fears get away from you for a few minutes, and abandoning your kids out of paranoia and delusions.

I'm having a hard time thinking it was suicide because 1. the car has not been found, and 2. LE has taken on a criminal investigation for some reason now. (info forthcoming) IMO

There are many theories/thoughts on Gail's disappearance. I, for one, have from the beginning been baffled why her Rubicon was not spotted by more people around this area even though she was NOT reported missing. Of course, the tire cover is pretty common but not that common. It just seems she vanished into thin air. Something was definitely going on since she gave documents/jewelry to friends, of course, she may have been fearful that MPs GF would end up w/the jewelry.

I had so hoped possibly she was whisked away by safe house personnel with her vehicle being driven into a waiting U-haul and it stored or garaged somewhere possibly far away. I have personal knowledge that Gail and her MIL were very close so I am thinking that Gail knew that her MIL would care for her children. I do know if I was being followed, I would be scared to pieces and with Gail losing her job, her husband blatantly cheating on her, taking her $$ for who knows what, I would be surprised if she wasn't having some issues emotionally but deep down I don't feel to the extent I've read.

I so want this lady to be found and found alive but I am not totally hopeful. My personal opinion is that MP follows the same path as many other of the wife killers by being detached, not even calling her by her name nor reporting her missing. If she truly was having delusional issues, a loving and caring husband would do everything within his power to find her and PROTECT HER GOOD NAME.

If there was anything on the computers in the home and the HCLE have just now searched the home, there has been ample plus time to destroy evidence.

I think Kristin's Law has a mostly decent explanation- but it's still variable state to state and dept to dept, as well as situation to situation. Sometimes LE will have info unknown to the general public that makes a missing adult considered endangered- either by themselves, or others.

Perhaps they need a few telephone calls or emails to get all of these different agencies on the same page.

It seems absurd at this point that the lead LE agency has not classified her as endangered.
