The search area was widened Thursday and covers rugged terrain with trees and brush so thick that at least one search dog had to be carried by its handler on Wednesday afternoon, police said. Authorities also were using a helicopter to scan from the sky.

The abductor could not have dragged her through this on foot. So many questions!

The family owns 20 acres of mostly wooded property near their home as well. There is lots of water around that area where they live. The TN River and KY Lake are not too far away either.

My thoughts are that someone was planning to either break into the house that morning, or was pilfering around outside to steal things, and Holly just happened to walk outside to leave for school...the guy saw her and she got a good look at him so he took her to keep her from identifying him. I think it was a random abduction, but not random robbery event.

May be, but my thought here is that someone just there to rob the house would flee on foot alone. That's much faster than abducting a woman and taking her with you. I think whatever happened - she was the intended target. JMHO

Authorities said the 911 center received two phone calls when Holly Bobo, 20, was abducted Wednesday morning from her Decatur County home. One call was from her 25-year-old brother, who was in the home, and the other was from a woman police did not identify.

The sheriff of the county said investigators found blood in the car port of the home.

Okay, it has been established, I think, that mom was there too. So why not identify her as the second 911 caller? I've yet to see mention of dad. Was mom dating someone?

ETA: Nevermind...I went reading and found this quote: Bobo's mother is an elementary school teacher, and her father works for a tree service company.

Quite possible, but this is a very small town...a rural community where everyone knows everyone. I think Holly saw the guy, realized what was occurring and his instinct was to grab her and run to keep her from identifying him. He probably had a plan already of where to run in the event that things didn't go as planned, so the driver met him there. He just had a victim with him.

He probably had a plan already of where to run in the event that things didn't go as planned, so the driver met him there. He just had a victim with him.

And unfortunately many times, they get rid of the victim so they can not be ID'd. I don't think one person could have done this alone.

Is there anyone on here that is local? What type of road do they live on? Is it paved, dirt, gravel? From the aerial maps it is hard to even see the road, let alone what type it is, which leads me to believe that it may be dirt or gravel. The closest house appears to be to the south, but it is hard to say, since the resolution is not very high. There is a pond that separates the property. I still haven't figured out where the barn supposedly is.

I think he had been probably watching her, learned her routine and knew the best time to grab her and the best "escape" route to take. The whole things sounds too planned out to be a "robbery/home invasion" attempt that went wrong. Its a small town, so I would look at acquaintences, co-workers, classmates, even friends....check to see if anyone fitting that description didn't show up for work or class, etc...

Mayer would not say if family members tried to intervene or if they were suspected in the abduction.

Investigators initially believe the young woman may have been abducted from her house in a home invasion, but John Mayer, spokesman for the TBI told ABCNews.com that "the suspect was never inside."

Police won't comment on what else family members told them or what evidence may have been left behind.

I noticed her father is in tree work from the above quoted article.

This is crazy. Either someone is mentaly ill or they are paying someone back in a major way. This screams young guy crime to me ,because he left the witness standing there and he was wearing all camo. I think an older guy might think he looked suspect in the middle of the day in camo in the spring. Plus it also seems rash to move in on her in the car port. I think an older person would wait out for a better window.

Soul, I think the camo thing in a small rural down is normal. I'm from one, and it is turkey season in some places. Even just going scouting for turkeys or something, men wear camo.
