I agree about the brother. But the person in the picture is the BF, I think. I saw a fuzzy pic of the brother on FB and I don't believe that's him in those pictures. MOO

Thanks! I'm looking for a photo of the brother and the BF. I haven't found one of either yet.

It will be interesting to know if there was indeed a knife found, whose prints are on that knife.

How Scary! At this point I don't know what to think..... :(

If she was being dragged across the carport It makes me wonder if her hands and feet were not bound. I'm sure she would have tried to get away if she could have, which makes me think somehow she was not able.

Unless she were tasered, or somehow otherwise made immobile.

Okay, I found the BF's FB, initials DS, and he is definitely the one in the photos. Several photos of hunting and graduation. He added Holly's brother as a friend before Feb 2010, but didn't add Holly until sometime between April and June 2010. I'm not sure if I can link his page, so I won't. He doesn't post a whole lot on it and neither has Holly, only a couple of comments.

Please everyone...let's not convict the family before we even know the real facts of the case. I live near this area and can tell you that with it being such a small town, they might not have "professional" press people who are used to giving the media what they want. Because this area is not used to this type of crime, LE is obviously not as slick as big cities. TBI has policies as well, so I am sure you can see why the stories are confusing. All it takes is for one person to exaggerate on one point or give out an incorrect fact, and it gets embellished from there.

This is an unthinkable crime just about any way you think about it. But, many of us are concerned about just one thing right now - finding Holly!

I don't see anyone convicting the family. What I see is everyone trying to sort through the confusing info on the case. We are allowed to discuss what's reported by MSM. Figuring out what happened is a big part of finding a missing person. Then there is this...the fact that LE refused to say that the family was NOT involved. Too many possibilities to assume anything at this point. And alot to make you :waitasec:

If the brother was threatened, why did he wait to call 911? That does not make any sense at all. He felt too threatened to help, yet he did not fear for his sister?? How old is this brother?

Just a guess here. What if the conversation went something like this:

Abductor: I'm wearing a scanner (you know, the kind that Fire/EMS people wear clipped to their pants? -- well, the Volunteer Fire Dept. guys wear them around here, anyway). If I hear a call out for your sister on it, I'll know you called 911, and I'll kill your sister.

That might scare me into not doing anything at first. Maybe the brother then thought about it, and decided (and hour later) to take his chances and call 911.

As I said, just a thought....ok, back to reading.

Ok so I have found the property maps of the property.

http://www.assessment.state.tn.us/SelectCounty.asp

Select Decatur county. Put in Bobo in owner name, hit search, select Dana bobo, 618 Swan Johnson Rd. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "View GIS map for this parcel. " You can zoom in and out on the map and move it around.
If you look real close you can see all kinds of trails and such meandering around through the trees. There is one in specific if you go towards the back of the property further out it actually connects back to Swan Johnson Rd heading North East I believe.........

Okay, so even though the house sits on the smaller 2 acre lot, they also own the much larger lot to the south and west.

I cannot find it right away, but thought someone posted an aerial view and there was what looked like a body of water not too far from the wooded area. Could someone have had a boat waiting for the "get away vehicle?". Also heard on one of the morning shows today that some of the woods are so dense the search dogs had to be carried into the woods in some spots. So makes me wonder if the dogs picked up anything at all before they were "carried into the woods".

I don't know how to link to the great map posted here by Hollye, but it is this map I was speaking of in my last post about a body of water. I'm not familiar with that area but was wondering if that is a place where someone could have a boat, then get across the water to an awaiting vehicle.

I think the perp had a vehicle waiting somewhere. IMO, this is a random stranger abduction.... possibly an older guy. I can't see some High School/ College Kid pulling this off.

That's why I think he's older

If this is in fact what happened to her, being drug off into the woods, it would have to be someone local and familiar with the area/woods even someon who hunts that area. Someone non familiar would not have attempted to drag her there and through the woods and still not be found given the description of the area they have been searching.

I once was helping move cattle through a very dense and heavy forrested area to a new feeding ground on horseback, I took after a lone cow to round back up and managed to get lost from the others, it was hours and just before dark before I could actually find the party I was riding with due to heavy underbrush and felled trees that was making it impossible for me to get back to the main dirt road I knew was there I just couldn't get to it. The others who had ridden it several times had no problems because they knew the area. My horse was actually the one who found our way out. I had a heck of a time with my direction or landmarks because all you could see were the trees.

If this is what occured (Holly being drug off) I believe they have been watching her for quite sometime waiting for the perfect time. I wish we knew if LE has checked all the locals homes in the area by the slight chance it could be a neighbor.
I feel if they were still in the woods somebody would have come across something by now.... this is all moo.

There search today is going to be hampered by bad weather unfortunatley:

Just my gut feeling on this case but I don't see the brother or the boyfriend being involved. The sheriff plainly states that the initial call came in at 7:30 a.m. and they were on the scene immediately so if they were on the scene, why would the brother need to call 911 an hour later? As far as the boyfriend, I see two happy kids in all of the photos that were posted on the Crimesider slide show of the two of them together. He is as equally handsome as she is pretty so I don't think there is a jealousy issue involved. It looks to me as if an opportunity presented itself for whoever took her and he seized that opportunity.

We have to look at why someone would have taken this poor girl.
Only reason I can think is not a good one.

And very very very few times have I ever heard of noticeable amounts of blood being drawn at the scene of the abduction. The sick abductor rapist wants the person as fresh as possible before and during, so I'm doubting the abductor would have done something like that. Plus, did the blood drag along with this idea of going into the woods? If there was blood there should have been a trail.

Yep, that's why i'm thinking random stranger abduction.

IMO, it is not someone who she is familiar with or someone who knows her or her family. From what I've read, she is a very well liked, sweet young woman.

So I just can't see someone who knows this family/knows Holly doing this.

Here is an aerial from the property maps that has a clearer view of the property. The "barn" can be seen just to the back of the house. There do appear to be trails through the woods, but they are hard to see. The pond is to the south of the house and, I believe, in the opposite direction than the abductor would have headed, as the carport is on the north side of the house.

Even in this photo it is unclear as to whether or not the road they live on is paved. I get the impression from photos that it is now, as their driveway is paved and clearly visible in the aerials, but Swan Johnson Road is not. At times it is even difficult to figure out where the road is. If they had headed to the road and taken off by vehicle, there may be tire tracks. I wonder how traveled this road is. I imagine that LE would have come from the south, so they may have headed to the north.

The map is in my siggy and I have updated it with the additional property lines.

If a dog had to be carried, how did the perp drag her through the woods?

If he did take her back into the woods he probably used deer trails. Deer make their own well-defined roads through the woods and those are very easy to follow. There are some that exit the woods right next to my house.

Somebody who hunts the adjacent property also could be somebody to think about, and might have noticed Holly sometime in the past.

Another thing to think about is Chelsea King. She was attacked and killed in a relatively open park in San Diego and it still took LE more than 5 days to find her body. John Gardner had submerged her body in the shallow end of a lake in the park. Dogs and searches don't always work like you think they would. There is the possibility that Holly's body is well-hidden somewhere and the perp is long gone.
