what a nightmare for LE! they not only have to try to find holly but they have to keep 1000 civilians safe as they search and how are they keeping track of them? Oh my... I am praying hard right now and off to light about six more candles than I already have lit...

If it is 7pm there...how much longer can they feasibly search? 1-2 hours? Or will they keep this going in the dark?

  • #325
uh oh...national weather service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning with hail for decatur county....

:maddening:At least another hour of good enough light to search!
And then helicopters with heat-seeking devices.
The searchers will get their food very soon!!!
As per the size of the towns, Darden is just a small community.
There are many towns in Decatur County and they pretty much run together.
From Nashville to Jackson they are looking for Holly and will do so thru the night:banghead:

Oh sha......do they have some type of local network over there that would be more efficient notifying those local what the searchers needs are??? Stations need to be set up with at least water/drinks. If there's not going to be food readily available then whoever is organizing the searches need to let the searchers know to pack themselves lunch/snacks. Personally.....if I had a search to go on in my area....I would automatically make provisions for myself. I think all searchers....any case.....should do the same. It's a LOT of extra work trying to feed/water a multitude of searchers and many times the facilities aren't available to do that. ANYONE participating in searches NEED to provide their own food/water......that will simplify things A LOT imo.

There are some things going on that are moving quickly. I am unsure of exactly what, but that's what I've been told in the past few minutes by someone there.

Sorry to be slightly OT, but is anyone else having major goosebumps? Hasn't stopped. I'm so glad so many people are out - it's a miracle. I hope to goodness they find her soon. Glad thermal will be able to be used soon.

thanks for that info... it sure seems like they have some sort of credible info to spark this current search

I think that this search call went out on borrowed time. If I was there & heard it, I would not expect to be fed, but would bring water along. imo

Searchers need food and ice. No bottled water is needed at this time.

Just thought I'd post for any locals that want to help out!

I bet there will be small groups people out there searching (on their own) overnight.

I'm in absolute awe of the massive turnout that answered the call for help.

I believe they are calling for searchers for tomorrow morning because this man already has left the immediate area with Holly.
The vehicle had to have been stolen and left behind with the cell phone, if the report is true, although it has not been confirmed yet.
Listening and waiting.
Of interest also is the Tennessee Rangers frequencies near Natchez Trace State Park.
Also of interest to me out of experience is Mousetail Landing and LadyFingers Bluff.
Good hiding places far enough away from her home.
God I pray LE is fast enough!

I dunno if the authorities will even allow that without escorts.
