Some volunteers slept in vehicles and even the fairgrounds assembly hall overnight.

They are heading out again in a little over an hour.

Come on... after I get a couple hours of seep I want to come back and see a happy ending.

Holly is going to be amazed and overwhelmed at the sheer volume of this search.

Pat Brown, well known criminal profiler was on Fox and Friends live this morning. She was critical of the case and had some interesting comments. She said things were not adding up and seemed suspicious. Her points were basically 1) someone needs to get their story straight she was lead away versus dragged away 2) they found blood implying an assault in the garage yet she easily walked away? 3) it has to be someone known to the victim 4) she said clearly LE had cleared the boyfriend, ex boyfriend and brother of being involved so who else was close to her? 5) she said LE had found her phone.

While nothing really new or earthshattering it was good to see the story on national news with a real guest to help get the word out.

There are more than a few comments above that are just not true. I spent the entire day listening to the scanner and communicating with someone who was AT the scene of the search.

False rumor #1 A car was found with its engine still warm. This did not happen per LE. They did NOT find a vehicle.

False rumor #2 Holly's phone was found in the vehicle. This did not happen. They did NOT find her phone and there was no vehicle.

False rumor #2 There were various items that were found and it was believed that Holly was "leaving clues." This did not happen. The ONLY thing that was found today was her lunch bag/box, which was found 8 miles away from her home and by a creek.

I admit that I myself even was pulled into believing some of these things until I began to listen solely to what LE actually was saying and what the person on the scene was saying.

While I can only speak for myself, and appreciate you emphasizing what LE said to public, I didn't leave this case all day yesterday either (including scanner) and do not agree. Anyone "AT" the scene has to go with what LE is saying. Unless your source was everywhere and heard everything in this entire area, they would be going on what LE is saying. This is a great summary of what LE wants out there, but sadly, not the truth IMO.

Sorry for the double post - forgot to mention that my thoughts are it was a journalist who used "dragged" as not quite what we would think. It's an attention grabber, and BOY, it worked.

Prayers that Holly is found safe today.

Another poster said that Mark Fuhrman said that dogs could not pick up Holly's scent near the woods by her home where she supposedly walked with the abductor...has anyone else heard that?

Really wonder WHERE the items were located.....beside the main road or in the woods somewhere??
If, like the lunchbox, they were found beside a main road I'm afraid that isn't much of a clue....and could just be the perp dumping her belongings or even trying to throw LE off base. MOO.

Lunchbox was found by the side of the road

Right, if the lunchbox was beside the road, could mean they're long gone in a vehicle. If it was back in the woods somewhere might mean he kept trekking her through the woods. If it's beside the road could have dropped while he was shoving her in vehicle.

or he could have disposed of it himself

If Furman is questioning the brother's story does that mean I can too??? Very, very odd to me that the dogs did not pick up her scent. A grown man waiting an hour to call 911 under the circumstances has me a bit perplexed as well. Also....if her captor is someone that was stalking her then SURELY he was aware of the brother. Seems risky to kidnap her when her brother was at home yet.....the perp was able to do it no probleemo:waitasec:.

I have to agree i was questioning the brothers story from the first. We heard too many changing stories from him.

Why the dogs didnt get her scent out to the woods is a bit bizarre esp if they said they had found blood.

Something just isnt right here!

Seems big bro just let so called male drag his sister off into the woods!
I dont buy it!

Oh excuse me he changed his story ( they walked into the woods)

I'm baffled about if they have an idea who this is, why they haven't put out a description and vehicle, even if not the name. It is kind of an Amber Alert situation, if they know who it is and he owns a car.

I'm worried that if they DON'T know who it is, or if the person that they may have suspected is accounted for, that they are long gone.

this is the only info they have:

White male dressed in camo
5''10 to 6''

I think they said somewhere between 150 to 200 pounds

face not seen and no description of vehicle

Since no one has described the blood (or even definitively confirmed it) its hard to say if any blood would be part of a blood trail, etc. Lots of small injuries can bleed a lot, like cuts on the head, ears, etc. But they are not critical injuries and probably wouldnt leave a big splattery trail that people or dogs could follow any distance.

Dogs are usually real good but not infallible either. It could also be that since the victim lived there, probably walked around her yard area enough, etc. that the dogs could not find one particular scent trail. Weather could play a part too.

One detail I had thought of ,that no one has that I know of, mentioned, is the possibility of natural trails around the family home, made by Holly/her family/ friends/etc. People dont just walk through the wild woods they have to make a trail first. And since her brother seemingly thought Holly walking into the woods was semi normal, there are probably trails opening up around the road in front of her house. Would any of these openings be large enough to park a car. It would be hidden from view, even if only 20-50 feet back in the woods. So Holly could be lead there, put into a car and then driven off. Now this does not account for the neighbor hearing screams but I dont know how close any of the neighbors are and perhaps she was driven to another location on/near/around the property either on a trail or on the main roads.

Hi carla,

If the dogs were given her scent and she walked off into the woods the dogs would have taken LE in the direction she went.

That's why i'm afraid of them being in a vechicle :(

if they are in a vechicle, they are long gone.

From IZ:

"MSNBC reports that investigators said they found Holly’s cell phone and camouflaged clothing in a vehicle nearly eight miles from Holly’s home. Her white lunch box, they say, was recovered from a creek in the area, police said.

Earlier in the evening ABC News reported her cell phone and the camouflaged clothing were not found. Examiner.com has emailed the Decatur Sheriff’s Department and put a call in to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations to confirm what information is correct."

Hi carla,

I know that. That was my point. They know where she went into the woods or have a good idea. Was that area also a place a car could be parked. Hence no trail to be followed.

But like I said also, dogs are not infallible. For whatever reason they may not pick up a trail even if it is there (or maybe there is not a trail because she was driven off in a car parked across the street just inside the tree line).

Remember she lived there so depending upon the dogs/handler, the dogs may have picked up a scent from the many times she has probably been in her yard.

When thy say 8 miles away do they mean 8 miles as the crow flies or 8 miles on windey wooded roads that would be only 2 miles away if you drove or walked in a straight line?

They also make 8 miles sound like a lot. It isnt unless you are walking in very heavy woods. You can drive 8 miles in 15

Someone trained in hiking can march at a pace about 15 miles a day in a wooded area as per the US Army in World War 2.
