Wow, a trail. Smart girl! Thinking of you Holly, keep fighting!

they are telling the searcgrs to look for things they believe she is leaving a trail!

Very smart girl if she is doing that! This gives us hope!

LLLindsayy, I had the same thought about the cell phone - but maybe it was already? I'm sure if it were on/working, they would have followed a ping by now.

Who knows - maybe that's how they got as far as they did. I mean, to find her lunchbox six miles away... That is where they still are, isn't it?

Is it possible they know that HE is dead, hence not fearing for the volunteers? Otherwise, I don't understand it either, how would they know if he has a gun, etc?

This is the South - most of us are packin' too... nothing to be scared of.

If they are that close (warm car, trail?) then they need dogs. Bloodhounds.

Unless to throw them off, or God forbid, he knows he's toast so he wants everyone to witness his big ending...

(Sorry for typing it but it has crossed my mind. I don't see how she could leave a trail without him knowing... :waitasec:)

I thought the same thing, Beli, along with the thought that he could be trying to lead them into something big to hurt them for trying to help her. The person that took Holly isn't someone I'd consider "normal".

I think one of the most significant things we have heard so far is that the engine of the abandoned car was still warm.

That gives them a very specific location and a very specific time frame to work with.

It's amazing to me that they think she's leaving a trail. I REALLY hope this is the case and that the perp isn't trying to throw everyone off. However, even if he is, they are on his tail. The warm engine tells us he was in the area very very recently and is potentially on foot (maybe in camo). Hopefully they're looking up into the trees. And also into trees that are hollowed out. Seriously. He's close by unless there is an accomplice that provided him with a ride once he ditched the car.

If Holly IS leaving a trail, I have mixed feelings about leaving the cell phone. I wish she would have kept it on her so that LE could trace her pings. If that was impossible for her to do, then I'm glad she left it where it could be found.

This case has my heart pounding because it is such real-time. Praying for Holly.

I would imagine the cell phone battery would be dead by now with EVERYONE trying to call her when she first went missing. And it likely hadn't been charged since early Wednesday morning. imo

They must have got the initial area to search from her cell phone pings?????

I had to rush and get DS dressed for soccer practice, DH's coach's bag ready, and now have planted DD in front of Diego so I can keep watching this thread... :o

Prayers, prayers, prayers...

:praying:

WOW real time is right!!! I think they are hot on the trail and pray they find her alive. This community response is heart warming - showing the heart and spirit of Americans. Search in safety and wisdom.

True. If the battery was dead (or removed?) it would be useless to her. I hadn't thought of that.

Praying for Holly. Have there been any updates regarding the searcher that they hadn't been able to contact?

  • #156
If some of the locals/searchers do indeed carry guns, this seems even scarier to me, I have never heard of this kind of a search...

Wow. Press conference in 10 mins. Anxiety to the max. I can't imagine how everyone in Darden is feeling.

  • #158
PC in ten minutes, which would be about 5:10 local time - still daylight there....
