Hasn't the brother been cleared?
And given the time line of the neighbors hearing the scream, the calls (which there are records of) and then when the police showed up, exactly how would the brother do it? Ok, NM, rhetorical question, the math just doesn't add up there, NEVERMIND the fact that he has been cleared by LE and should be off limits.

Nobody has been ruled out. Nobody has been named a suspect.

I posted the link numerous times. There was no official statement by LE stating anybody was cleared.

Yes, discussing the family or the boyfriend is off limits because they were not named suspects.

Eileen730, Another theory is: everyone overlooks the man/cousin that threw Drew and D.'s Dad off Grandmothers property.

I haven't heard IF this person had the property Leased for Hunting or if he was looking after it for his mother/relative?

I know from experience poaching/hunting on someone's Leased properties can get very nasty. Some Hunters look at this as trespassing and stealing from the Leasee and property owner....also no one can deny there's a huge Liability involved.

I have often wondered if there wasn't a very heated argument between Holly and this 'person' early that morning and it possibly continued to her backdoor. ...jmo

It would explain a lot. Maybe they weren't even on the right property and this guy went to confront the Bobos. Have they searched that property at all?

There actually was a bit of a brouhaha - these tempests in teapots happen when LE releases few facts - early on, when Pastor Don Franks (Holly's pastor, albeit not the family spokespastor - that would be Kevin Bromley) released a cover note over a Bobo family fax to the press. Isabelle Zehnder at examiner.com, in a not-bad little compilation article (although daubed with more than a fleck of 19th c. melodrama) describes the note thusly (under the breathless subhead "A family and pastor unjustly condemned online"):

http://www.examiner.com/article/holly-bobo-abduction-3-week-wrap-up-we-re-not-giving-up-on-holly

So perhaps it might be more rightly said that one far-outside-the-box theory involves rogues in the Parsons/Darden pastoral community, and not "rogue spokespastors" per se. Though the second is funnier.

I totally forgot about that handwritten note.

Just out of curiousity, I spent some time today looking at any missing men in Tennesssee around the time Holly went missing. Won't post my findings because of TOS but I'm planning to do the same with other States as well to see if anything grabs my attention.

It's a lot of research but perhaps I'll find that needle in the haystack and make a connection. It may turn out to be a waste of time but I figure anything is better than with the same theories many of us have gone over and over in the last 17 months with no results.

A family and pastor unjustly condemned online

Holly’s pastor, Don Franks, wrote a note attached to a fax from Holly’s family that read: “No child is safe until we find Holly Bobo and the thousands of missing children in America. Bring them home to their families and bring their kidnappers to justice.”

Pastor Franks’ handwritten note, as well as a handwritten statement from the Bobo family, were scanned and shared online.

As a result, Pastor Franks was wrongly, with no evidence of any wrongdoing on his part, attacked online with accusations made that he may have been involved in her disappearance.

There have been numerous attacks on Holly’s brother and family - all which serve to hurt a family that is already grieving. This will be addressed further in an upcoming article.

In Pastor Franks' defense local resident Teresa Floyd said, “Mrs. Don Franks is the niece of my mother, aunt and great aunt. They all married brothers of the same family.

“Brother Don, along with my cousin, preached my mother's funeral, 20 years ago, nearly to the day.

“He buried his own grandson just weeks before Holly disappeared, yet has been tirelessly searching for her with everyone else involved.

“He (and his family, daughter, Mary Beth, mother of Brennan) have spent endless hours in physically demanding efforts, and selfless dedication to the Bobos and finding Holly.

“I have not seen the note, but I know no one attacks a physician because of his poor penmanship, and I can assure you there is NO ONE that knows anyone involved, that gives one moment’s pause to the vile assertions of armchair detectives that would attack Don Franks.

“I have known him personally for 34 years, he is a neighbor and a neighbor to family. His son looks in on the widows and helps them with projects they need help with.

“Don and Rebbecca Franks have raised two of the finest children I have had the honor of knowing and the privilege of calling family. He does not deserve to be attacked. But I know, he will take it all in stride, if in any way, it helps bring Holly home safe.”

Drew and his father were already at work. It's in MSM

He never said the name "Drew."

I'm editing to stand corrected, however, I have made further note on this, a few posts down.

Well, it would be awfully hard for him to be at two places at one time...
Ooh, wait, new theory. He has a secret twin brother that has been kept locked up and somehow got out and was in the woods...

Sorry, couldn't help myself. Will go slap my hands and sit on them now.

Actually, John Mehr, the lead detective, did make a statement originally clearing Clint and Drew:
The officer said that neither Bobo's brother nor her boyfriend were suspects. "We are confident of that," he said.

Then, on 20 April, Mark Gwynn, head of TBI:
GWYN: We have not developed any type of tunnel vision. No one has been cleared no matter what their relationship with Holly may be.

I suppose a list of what we do NOT know may help also.

Please add:

~n/t~ ,there was one other unknown (from the Jackson Sun article besides the gas money DB left for Holly) & it was the breakfast KB made and left in the microwave for Holly. The last time it is mentioned is in Holly's phone conversation with Reese ...Holly tells Reese before saying goodbye, she is going to eat her breakfast. My question is,"Was the breakfast still in the microwave?"

From the Jackson Sun,
"I leave the house to go to school at around 7," Karen said. "And by that point (Holly) had already gotten up, put her clothes on and was sitting at the dining room table. I fixed her lunch and stuck her breakfast in the microwave, and I left for school."

<snipped for Space>

"So around seven o'clock, I (Reese)called her (Holly)on her cell phone from my house phone," she said.

Holly told Reece she was going to eat breakfast and put her shoes on and said goodbye.

I do not believe this story is available at the Jackson Sun link any more.I have a screen shot of the article I am quoting from.

Good catch, MizStery! If her breakfast went untouched, something happened before she actually went outside, more than likely.

Yes. Thank you and the latest and final information is that nobody is ruled out. I say final because I haven't seen anything after Mark Gwynn made that statement that excludes anyone in this case.

One has to wonder why there was such a turnaround 5 days later? They found items. Were those sent to the lab and something changed?
No need to answer. Just thinking out loud.

ETA: 4 days after the last statement, there was the Easter find and volunteer searches were "suspended". This is when we believe her cellphone was located.

Good point. One would assume if the scream was heard at 7:40 and her shoes (flip flops) are missing, then she made it outside. She ate her breakfast, put on her shoes, grabbed her purse, lunchbag, school stuff and she was on her way to school.

The wheels in my head keep on turning..........

Is that a song?

Anyway, the mention of John Mehr in the most recent post prompted me to look him up. I couldn't remember who they named as a replacement. His name is Jack Van Hooser.....but that's not the reason for this post.

In looking at the article, I realised that John Mehr's assignments were predominantly drug related crimes and it made me go hmmmmmm. There have been some very good theories put here as a possible drug connection but I never really made a connection. Did Holly witness something? Perhaps Holly's disappearance is bigger than we imagine? Many more people are involved? Perhaps some that are not even on our radar?

Just a thought and perhaps one that needs much more attention than any of the other theories?

The career of John Mehr

1975 • John Mehr was hired and assigned to the drug division of the TBI office in Nashville.
1975-81 • He transferred to TBI offices in Tullahoma, Murfreesboro and Jackson.
1981 • He transferred out of the drug unit into field investigations in Dyersburg for six years.
1987 • Mehr was promoted to drug division supervisor for the West Tennessee region.
1991 • He was promoted to special agent in charge for the Jackson office, which included supervising field investigations and drug investigations.
2012 • After 37 years with the agency, Mehr retired from the TBI on Friday at age 60.

The "new kid on the block"

During a Friday afternoon press conference at the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Marshal Jeff Holt (center) speaks to the media about his agency’s role in the Thursday arrests of three suspects wanted in relation with the Aug. 25 murder of Eric Kinley at a Paris-area nightclub. One suspect, Tevin “Jay” Lumpkin, had been on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Ten Most Wanted list. Also pictured are Sheriff Monte Belew (left) and TBI Special Agent Jack Van Hooser.
