Ok, now if you heard her scream, ran to check on her, and saw a stranger taking her into the woods, you're telling me you wouldn't go after them?
I would trail them to the woods.
But, it's not about me. It's that Clint, the neighbor and LE were all there almost at the same time.
Obviously, Clint with a gun outside with LE nearby , sorry but that ain't happening. LE would've made Clint drop the gun on the spot.
LE had a chaotic scene to handle and that's why IMO they placed Clint in the police crusier.
Also, maybe LE held off from trailing them in the woods for fear of an ambush. Maybe LE was waiting for back up.
Regardless of Clint or anyone else did'nt do, IMO the perp wanted her for himself, sort of a prized trophy. And I think Holly was naive enough to go along with the perp.
Hopefully, shes alive. But, holding her for 2 years now without a clue or an attempted phone call home, everyday it looks like she's likely not alive.
The hypothetical you put forth was in relation to KB's state of mind and why she reacted the way she did, not CB. The problem was, your hypothetical left off the fact KB also knew it couldn't be the bf with Holly. Since, after adding that fact to the hypothetical, you say you would follow them into the woods, I assume it is because you fear something bad may be happening. Therefore it is reasonable to believe KB thought something was bad was happening too.
Also, there is nothing to say LE didn't take the gun from CB when they arrived. I agree with you that I don't think LE would allow him to continue being on the seen with the gun and therefore feel it is safe to assume they took the gun from CB upon arrival.
