To me, it looks just like the purse. Was it empty? Or did it have items in it? Who knows.

Holly....what happened to you? We are struggling to figure it out....

That's what I want to know.

Karen could be in denial, but...

It looks to me like WSMV is the outlet where the info about the contents of her purse originated. The WBIR story references WSMV. And now I can't find any mention of her purse contents on the WSMV site. They might have scrubbed it because it was wrong.

I think WSMV may have just gotten bad info (no surprise there). They might have mixed up the stuff insiders thought would be in the purse with what was actually found - only a purse. My hunch is that only the purse was found; no ring, camera, money or license.

The only thing that makes sense to me is that they believe they have the perp in custody and are waiting for some evidence. Nothing else that I have seen in this case makes sense. We all know of that one guy that had his car totaled by a junkyard around Apr 22, 2011 approx. There is probably a few more...but that one sticks out due to his past behavior in the weeks before Holly vanished.

From Day one, we got nothing from anyone. Regarding the bag, it looks empty in the photo. I have run down a rabbit hole too many times in this case. From the dogs barking at the start of the case and two years later finding out the family dog followed Holly and the perp a down the path to, now, this latest find, nothing has paid off.

At this point in time, I will consider the perp is in jail. Why the family didn't hire a professional search team anyway will always bother me. The immediate time after the abduction should have been explored and it wasn't. This family chose not to take advantage of the media and other resources. They chose to pray instead...so be it..

They may not have had the funds to.

Texas Equusearch offer their services for free or almost free...but they have to be welcomed by Law Enforcement and requested by them and the family. At least that's my understanding....

They may not have had the funds to.

They raised $25,000 in the first few days, followed by many more donations and charity events.

...if it's a ploy, they have mastered that tactical part of this investigation very well.

Yes, but as we'd all like to point out, it hasn't gotten them anywhere :banghead:

Chilifries, on yesterday's thread i posted a 2nd MSN link quoting TBI on the purse containing items indicating it belonged to a young woman....
Just a head's up to posters,I found this MSN which quotes TBI spokesman Kristen Helm as saying the purse contained item's indicating it belonged to a young women.

"The bag matches the description of one Bobo was carrying when she disappeared, and there were items in the purse indicating it belonged to the young woman",said TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm.

My only explanation would be is that she is in a state of shock and is still in denial.

what are the odds, the purse is found a couple of days after the 2 year anniversary, one of her neighbor's dogs found it, it looks remarkably similar to the one Holly was last seen with etc.

I'm 99.9% sure they found her purse.

I feel for her family because they have hope that she is still alive holded up somewhere with her abductor (and she very well could be) but the chances of that statistically speaking are very slim at this point.

I've never walked in their shoes and I realize that's the only way to understand what they are going through. But having read way too many true crime stories and knowing how badly it can go for someone kept captive....... well, you veterans get my point. Sometimes, I think, it's best to not know how mean the world really is. I pray for Holly and her family. God bless them and hold them tight.

Well, TBI didn't really say it wasn't her purse. Notice they say that Karen said it wasn't her purse.
Odd indeed.

TBI's Kristen Helm clearly said they "believed" Holly's purse had been found by a neighbor's dog. That came straight from the source.

The source then turned around and said it was not the purse, based on Karen Bobo's ID of the bag.

These things were not misreported by the media.

Yes...they said that they BELIEVED it was her purse. THE MEDIA is who ran with that and announced that it had been found and then went on to report articles in the purse. TBI NEVER said it positively was the purse.

Just a few days before the purse was located, the family had mentioned the specific items Holly kept in her purse. Perhaps the media did confuse these two aspects of this one item....the recent discussion about the purse vs. the dog finding a purse.

I don't see how this can be anyone else's purse. Such sadness to see that nothing else was located. How I wish there was more to go on!

If they are telling us Karen says, "It's not Holly's", and it is.....all I can say is "WTH is going on?"

If you look at the pics. They both have the same stitching and rings. Why hasn't the family came forward and said something about it and why it isn't hers? Here I go again...asking dumb questions.

I have been stunned from Day one. This case makes absolutely no sense. Holly has died and somebody has killed her. The family doesn't believe that. I think the only person who doesn't believe that is Karen and Karen runs this case.

So now we all must assume another young lady in the non populated area had a purse like Holly's and buried it in the woods.

I need a beer..

:drink:

April 19, 2013- Paris, Henry County TN officers to help in Bobo hunt
Henry County officers have been asked to take part in a large-scale search for Holly Bobo in Decatur County this weekend, after the missing woman’s purse was found Wednesday.
“The authorities down there have contacted us and asked us to send down some officers to search in the area where the purse was found, so we are sending some reserve deputies out, and some full-time deputies as well,” (Sheriff) Belew said.
“I know there’s going to be multiple agencies involved in this,” he said, noting Calloway County could be sending officers.
