I'm trying to catch up on the reading, so forgive me if I'm redundant. First, for those who may not be local to Middle TN where the latest stories came from, I wanted to point out that two stations were coving this story last night. While the information put out was basically the same on both, there were subtle differences as well. Clint appeared and talked on the Channel 4 (WSMV) report. I think in that one, we got to see the car better, and there was a dog house in the opposite corner of the garage, suggesting the dog might sleep in there. In the News 2 piece (WKRN), we got to see that there is a small window in the back of the garage! This is crucial in Clint's testimony, IMO, as this may be his bedroom window, but if not, he still had a direct view into the center of the garage thru it! I believe he had to have been looking thru this window to see Holly and perp kneeling! Later, when they walk off, he sees them thru the kitchen door! It is also shown on the channel 2 video! Both of these are up on their websites! If you want to see them, I'd look quickly, because they don't keep them up for too many days.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he said he saw them through the kitchen door, right? I don't think it's ever been said that he saw them from his bedroom so I would discount that theory.

You could clearly see it in the video near that tree house or whatever it is. Not sure what the main road is called though. Actually it looks like a well and not tree house. I'm a city girl. lol

I believe Clint was saying that Holly and the perp exited the back yard near that swing set/ tree house looking thing and took the four wheeler trail out to the main road. What the news reports did not clarify was whether the "main road" was Swan Johnson Rd.--the road on which they live (which is on the east side of the property down a paved driveway that has a wishing well near its end by the road-- or whether they are referring to the dirt roads that run behind the Bobo property back to the west. The news footage is confusing if you have not studied the layout of the property, as they edit the images and run them together. One second they are showing the back, and then the next, they are showing the front!

Here is a portion of the conversation where Clint describes this. I think people have mistakenly mixed up what he saw first with what he saw later, after he moved into the kitchen:

From the CNN story:

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Ok. Clint, it was about 7:30 in the morning. Where were you? What vantage point and what did you see?

C. BOBO: I was asleep in my bedroom and I was awoken by the sounds of our house dog barking.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And what did you see?

C. BOBO: I saw the silhouette of two people in our garage. At the time I had no idea who either one of the people were. And then come to realize later that that was my sister and her abductor.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Wait, in the garage?

You were -- how do you -- when you`re asleep -- I`m just trying to get a picture. You`re asleep and then how do you see what`s going on in the garage? Ok, the dog barks, you wake up. Are you on the same level -- it`s all one floor.

C. BOBO: Right. Yes, we have a one story house?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And you walk into the garage?

C. BOBO: No, I saw them from inside the house and they were outside the house in the garage.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: They were in the garage or outside the garage?

C. BOBO: They were inside the garage.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Ok so as you watched, it was a man inside the garage with your sister and then what happens?

C. BOBO: And then I got in touch with my mom and found out that Holly was supposed to be in school that morning and realized that that must have been her at the house and then I looked back out and saw Holly and a male walking towards the woods and that`s the last time I saw her.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Ok, now, ok, is the garage attached to the house or is it a separate, detached garage?

C. BOBO: It`s attached to the house.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: It is attached to the house.

C. BOBO: Right.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So you`re saying you were able to call your mom before they left the garage and after you called your mom you see them walking towards the woods?

C. BOBO: Right. And I told my mom that once I realized it was Holly, I said well, Holly and Drew which is her boyfriend were out in the garage talking.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So where did you find the blood?

C. BOBO: It was in the garage, under where I saw the silhouette of them kneeled down in the garage.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: When you saw them kneeling down did you think to ask them or approach them? How far away were you?

C. BOBO: No, I assumed -- I was inside the house and I assumed that that was Holly and her boyfriend Drew and he was dressed in full camouflage so I thought that Drew had been to the woods and killed a turkey and brought it back to the house and the two were sitting there over the turkey talking. After I saw the blood, I thought that was blood of a turkey that Drew had killed.

this case just gets weirder every time there is new information. so, according to the new video -

1) she walked out of her kitchen door to her car, which was parked in the attached carport, less than ten feet away from the kitchen door. the carport has a partial wall in the middle (creating two separate bays for parking).

2) they indicate the window cb was viewing from was the kitchen door window, about ten feet from her car's driver side door.

3) the garage is away from the house about thirty feet from the kitchen door (through the carport), with the garage doors facing the house and carport

4) cb looked through the kitchen door window, through the carport, to the right of the garage and saw them walking into the woods

5) the dog named "champ" followed them into the woods

6) family believes perp was hiding between her driver side door and the carport wall, watching the reflection in her driver side front bumper for her to open the kitchen door.

7) the path in the woods is reported as two minutes from a main road. family believes perp had car on main road.

8) her bedroom has one window, with blinds and curtains. her bed faces the window, with the bottom of the bed about five feet from the window (upthread there had been questions about someone watching her in her room).

9) the kitchen has a window, separate from the kitchen door window (approx five feet to the left) that looks out directly to where her car is parked. her car is approximately five feet from this window. at 0:41 you can see the stove in the reflection of the window. at 0:56 you can see the stove behind cb with the small window directly behind him. the car would have been parked five feet from there.

questions/comments:

1) which door does the rest of the family use to leave the house? if it's the kitchen door then the perp couldn't have been near her car too long or her family would have seen him when they left.

2) i'm confused about cb looking out the kitchen door at them kneeling in the carport - a) unless they were in the very front of her car he couldn't have seen them and there's not much room in front of her car, b) it's not even ten feet away, i'm simply surprised they were that close, i had imagined it to be about thirty or forty feet away. it would have made a lot more sense to look out the kitchen window to the left because you would have been looking at them to your left about five feet away.

3) unless the basic tenets of physics were altered that morning, if the reported scream was her and she was in her carport as indicated, there is no possible way a neighbor 1/4 mi would have heard and someone in the house would not. the location of her car is ten feet from the kitchen door and maybe five feet from the kitchen window.

Concerning 1. There appears to be a door in the front of the house that is the "front door." I believe there is also an entrance through the family room addition on the front of the house. Then there is the one back door by the carport/pool area. I'd think family would exit out the back near where they all seemed to park. Yes, I think the perp was hidden, most likely, until he thought everyone was out of house but Holly. Remember, Clint's car was uncharacteristically
parked in the closed garage out back and was not visible.

Concerning 2. I believe now after seeing the window in the garage for the first time that that is the window Clint may have initially looked out to see Holly and the kidnapper crouched down. There was plenty of room to do that with Karen's car gone. I think later, he walked into the kitchen as he talked on the phone, just in time to see them walking off into the woods through the kitchen door!

Concerning 3. What if Holly walked out the door (between 7:40 and 7:45), and someone she knew called out to her from the clearing in the back yard. What if she walked towards him to see what he wanted, and they got into an argument. If they started having a loud argument ( screaming at each other) this could be the "screams" the neighbor heard across the yard. At some point, I think Holly might have decided she had to get to school and went into the garage at this point. If the perp was angry, he might have followed her in there and hit her at this point, bringing her to her knees. That would probably time out about right with Clint waking to noise at 7:50! Dog barks, Clint looks out garage window, sees Holly on floor of garage. In another minute or two, Clint has walked into kitchen, talking to mom on phone. He tells her Holly is walking out of yard with "Drew!" We know the rest. JMO

no one was IMHO praying. nor were they really described as being on their knees. IIRC Clint said they were kneeling and he thought they were looking over a turkey that had been shot. I kinda pictured them as squatting or maybe on one knee. Hard to say. But praying? no.

I've always thought Holli & the perp were squatting down low to avoid being seen or heard

The end of 2011, we heard the blood was Holly's. 2012, Dana reported her purse, camera, keys are still missing. 2013, we hear the dog followed the perp and Holly. One clue a year, ...at this rate I dont know if I will be around when we get enough clues to try and solve it.

...Soooo who pushed the wagging dog theory? How do we know the dog followed them? And if he did, then sure as heck somebody watched him follow them because I doubt if the dog told them.

...and if somebody watched the dog follow, why not follow the dog?

That path around the pond goes by the neighbor's house before it hits the hwy.

With respect, I don't think people have mixed up anything. We can only go by what has been reported. I appreciate your theory and perhaps you are correct that he first saw them outside his bedroom window but we don't know:

1) Where his bedroom is located
2) If his bedroom has a window
3) If it has a window if it faces the garage/carport so he can get a view of the inside enough to notice two silhouettes kneeling.

Why wouldn't he just come out and say I saw them from my bedroom window and then went to the kitchen to call mom and saw them walking off into the woods? Why not give one story, one timeline instead of bits and pieces and people have to guess?

Who would they be hiding from? Clint?

Your question wasn't addressed to me but perhaps Xavier is correct. Maybe the perp knew Clint or vice versa (?)

I can now understand Clint thinking it was Drew if the dog followed Holly and perp. In his mind, there was nothing amiss and only after the neighbour shows up is when panic set in.

...and if somebody watched the dog follow, why not follow the dog?

The only eye witness is Clint so one would have to think he was the one who saw the dog following them, imo

I quite agree, Whisperer! I just wanted to scream at the TV set when the same sound bytes were thrown out again! Yes, we know it almost had to be a local! Yes, we know they want Holly home! We do, too! Somebody throw us a morsel so that some progress can be made on this case!:banghead:

~n/t~, What do you make of Clint going through the garage, after seeing the layout of the place better yesterday on the videos? Wonder what caused him to circle through there, when the shortest line would have been from back door to entrance to the woods?

I first thought there could be a door in the garage directly into the house, but all I saw was a window I had not known existed! I now understand where he saw the silhouettes from, but I don't get the route to the woods.

#3 is very possible but I can't believe the dog would not have reacted to Holly's scream or being hurt by the perp. He was loose. I think any dog would have gone nuts. Barking, attacking.
