:welcome2:
I'm sure a mod will check in and clarify the rumor questions here - but here's some informal guidelines in the meantime - just off the top of my head... Disclaimer: I'm not a mod. I'm just a fellow poster that enjoys "thinking out loud" with the good folks here at WS. So... don't quote me as your excuse for "thinking it was okay" - b/c that just doesn't work. :giggle: The real mods are real smart. :gomods:
Until someone is named POI, or until it becomes clear through LE's actions (e.g. Kyron Horman case) that LE has focused the case on a particular subject - we can't speculate here at WS that any specific individual is a possible suspect, POI, etc..
Rumors are not to be brought to the WS threads. Quotes from other boards with rumors on them are not to be brought to the WS threads. These are not MSM links. New information that is factual must be supported by links to the MSM source. (Mainstream Media / News source) Blogs and other boards are not MSM sources. FACEBOOK is NOT MSM, but many times Facebook info may be linked. Just not copied here or quoted here. If you have questions about links to TOPIX, etc., alert your post to ask a mod.
There's an increasing number of rumors here. Some have rightly listed them and labeled them as rumors ... but ... we will be asked to stop doing that as well ... Rather - list facts. And support them with MSM links.
Copying actual quotes from MSM or elsewhere - these must be quoted and linked. There is a limit of material that can be copied to a post - even if it's MSM. Two sentences or so is enough. Then provide a link for others to read the rest at the original source site. You can paraphrase an MSM article (no direct quoting), but still provide the link.
Info heard on Scanners is not to be brought to the WS threads until that info is confirmed and can be linked with an MSM source. Scanner info stays on scanner threads. Sometimes those scanning will link to the related scanner thread to alert that something of interest is on the related scanner thread. Only WS members can link to Scanner threads.
If anyone has questions about if you can post something - it's a good idea to ask before posting. We can't post something and ask a mod to remove it if it's not allowed - doing that is not allowed.

The mods have enough to do around here. And they don't read every post...
However - to ask a question and alert a mod to respond - an easy way is to post your question then, after it's posted - alert a mod to you own post by hitting your post's alert button (exclamation point in the triangle) - and following those instructions.
Mod's can't read every post, so if you don't alert your own post, they might miss your question.
If we mess up too much on a thread, the thread gets closed. Sometimes it's cleaned up and returns. Sometimes not. Sometimes a substitute thread is provided. Sometimes not.
If you've made a post you are now concerned about, you have one hour from posting time to press delete yourself. After that, your post remains and you won't be able to delete it.
Hope some of this helps our new posters!
