James P. Downey, 84, left his residence in Tennessee Ridge around noon on Wednesday, apparently on his way to Arkansas. He is driving a silver 2013 Dodge Avenger with Tenenssee license plate number 6770DD7.
Downey is insulin dependent and has dementia. He didnt have any medication or insulin with him when he left.
A handgun carry permit holder, Downy may have a weapon in his possession, the sheriffs office reported. (((Sigh))) He was seen wearing khaki pants and a dark-colored button-up shirt.
According to Sgt. Steve Gray of the Houston County Sheriff's Office, Downey left a note at his house indicating he was going to visit a distant family member in Arkansas.
Downey may have traveled through Waverly and Memphis, and is expected to head to Conway, Arkansas, on his way to Warren, Arkansas.
