Man gone 4 months before reported missing

Marion County Sheriff’s officials say a man has been reported missing nearly four months after family members lost track of him.

Tant’s vehicle wasn’t taken and his bank account hasn’t been accessed.

Marion County authorities seek help on missing man

Marion County resident Roger Tant hasn’t been seen since March but local authorities didn’t know that until his sister reported him missing in late June.

[snip]

His wife, Patricia Tant, told officials she came home from a trip on March 10 and her husband was gone, Marion authorities said. Patricia Tant didn’t report him missing, however, according to investigators.

Missing Marion Co. man added to FBI database

[snip]

"No records have showed up of him using a credit card or anything," Sheriff Bo Burnett tells Channel 3. "No one has talked to him or seen him the last few months. It's just like he's vanished."

He was last seen at his Hewgley Road home. But his wife, who lives with him, didn't report him missing.

Tant's sister called police last week when she couldn't reach him.

Missing Marion County Man Believed To Have Had Thriving Fighting Chickens Business

A Marion County man who has been missing since March, but whose disappearance was only recently reported to authorities, reputedly had a thriving business of raising fighting chickens.

[snip]

An aerial view of his property at 424 Hewgley Road, South Pittsburg, shows dozens of small coops as well as several larger outbuildings. There is also a swimming pool on the property.

[snip]

Cockfighting is illegal in Tennessee, but it is a misdemeanor, not a felony.

I can't copy/paste from this link but it says that the searchers couldn't go on Tant property and that the wife has retained an attorney.

So his WIFE didn't report him missing - his siblings did after four months of trying to reach him?

Look up 'hinky' in the dictionary: There's a picture of this case.........

Marion County authorities seek leads in missing man case

Pat Tant has never explained why she didn't report her husband's disappearance, according to Burnett.
She did not return calls to her business, Solution Seven LLC, seeking comment for this story.
Marion County investigator Matt Blansett said that authorities have not been able to determine whether foul play is involved.
Blansett said Pat Tant has not provided any information since her initial statement about the phone call.
"I have contacted Pat Tant recently, and she advised that she had hired counsel to represent her during the ongoing investigation," he said. She has not been named a suspect or person of interest, he said.

More at link.

James has been missing for 3 years now.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

I find it odd that the wife did not report him missing and immediately got a lawyer when LE came to talk to her about his disappearance. She has not been named a suspect or person of interest yet she wouldn't even talk to police other than to say that he left March 10th. In my opinion that puts her at the top of the suspect list, she was the last person to see him and now she's not talking.

He left without his belongings and didn't take a personal vehicle.

Tant is 66-years-old, 5'9" tall, and weighs 195 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes, and has a scar on his foot from surgery.

NOTE: The cases of the two missing men are not related.
