Sevier County sheriff asks for help finding missing woman

Jennifer L. Holmes, 39, was last seen in the new Center area of Sevier County on February 28, 2016. Sheriff Seals said Holmes was reported missing on April 16 by family members.

An investigation led deputies to the area near Newport Highway. A K-9 search team found the body near a cell tower site. The investigation revealed that Holmes might have been last seen in that area.

A body found Thursday morning in Sevier County has been positively identified as a Sevier County woman reported missing last month.


The medical examiner hasn't determined the cause of death yet. The case is still under investigation.
