TN - Joann, 31, & Adrienne Bain, 14, Whiteville, 27 April 2012 - #1

  • #1,181
If Jo Annn Bain's vehicle was found abandoned 3 miles from their home - why hasn't there been any bolo for a vehicle associated w/Mayes? Obviously they made it down to Mississippi where the bodies of Jo Ann and Adrienne were found.

He was a mechanic and could have had a vehicle that he repaired and used. His family that is incarcerated could have helped with transportation and that is why they are being held in TN not MS. Unless someone actually has seen him in a vehicle they will not post on speculation.

Also - did LE find anything evidential in Jo Ann Bain's abandoned vehicle?

The search for members of a missing Tennessee family has extended into the Atlanta metro area. Digital billboards on Interstates in Atlanta are running wanted posters for Adam Mayes, a suspect in the family's abduction.

The "Wanted" billboards are all across the southeast including Atlanta where three Interstate highways connect. If Mayes heads to another state he could easily travel through the Atlanta area.

The Atlanta billboards are provided as a free service for the FBI by the Outdoor Advertising Association of Georgia.

On the one hand, I'm really glad they're broadcasting AM's image across a wide area. On the other, if LE has an idea of how Mayes looks now that he's altered his appearance, a sketch of his current look would be more useful.

AM has at least FIVE siblings. I don't know where they all are though. I do wish LE would give general areas in the states they said he might go to.

We're they raised to be outlaws? You gotta wonder!? :rocker:

I am still catching up so I don't know if this has been cleared up. When LE first interviewed AM they did not know the girls were with him. He made up some slick lie. Then when they knew he was lying they went back to interview him and that is when they found the graves and him gone.
No, as I understand it...they found him gone (last Tuesday? I think), a few days before they found the graves, which were found last Saturday.

It was reported in MSM that Mayes spent the night at Bain's. No mention at all of any vehicle he had while there.

Please forgive my naivety in advance, but do any of you biker-informed brains have any opinions on whether or not many in the 1% follow daily national news?

Phrased another way, how likely would it be for AM to contact affiliated chums for help or a place to stay who might have zero idea that the girls aren't his and are considered missing & endangered?

well, remember that there was a time period that went by before this hit national media. I think that there is a posibility that before it did he could have got help. After things got hot, not so likely. so, if he did get help prior to it hiting the fan and they played a part, they are probably saying what are we going to do now.

This report says JoAnn was studying to become a teacher and was just a few classes away from completing her studies. How damn sad that she didn't get to fulfil her aspiration. Damn.

It also says that Gary is distraught. I can't even begin to fathom the awful mixture of fear and grief he is dealing with right now. Two of his girls gone, and no idea where the other two are. That's a definition of pain - right there. I hope he is under medical care.

Add to that the feelings of guilt he probably feels for subjecting his girls to this monster. I can't begin to imagine the range of emotions he is feeling now. Just a horrific thing to have to deal with.

From the point of where Jo Ann's vehicle was found to Mayes residence in Mississippi is not walking distance. Surely LE knows how they made it down there?

I feel like a real chit now. I'd hoped Gary is getting care and medical support right now, and I hadn't thought to include his older daughter in that wishful sentiment.

This whole thing has been life-changing for her, too. She could suffer from a very complex form of 'survivor's guilt' going forward. Yikes.

I want those girls found, and I don't much care if they have to plow (a bullet) right through AM to get to them.

Yes no mention of that but jb's vehicle was abandoned and he had to have another one to go elsewhere with the girls. so did he have a vehicle waiting or did someone help him?

So didn't the media/LE say that the house where the bodies were found was owned by his mother and father? so were is his dad? we know where mom and the wife are....

Thinking also about Joseph Duncan and how he murdered Groene family and abducted Shasta & Dylan. How long did he hold those children captive?

Good catch. Can't imagine LE knowing a possible vehicle and not notifying public. Would say why aren't Mom and Dad making a comment, but if they are alive I think I understand..or so I think.

It was rented by his mom and dad.

In all the pics of the home in Whiteville, I've yet to see one with a Uhaul parked. ????

We don't know big part of this case - family dynamics. We are just getting bits and pieces......who knows? Maybe a 'storm' had been brewing for a long time amongst principal players in this case?

Mom's in custody along with AM's wife.

I'm thinking that is where the earlier statement that 'the rest of the family has relocated to a motel' comes in.

Curious though. If Dad Mayes isn't in jail, too, then does that mean:
  • He knew nothing?
  • He cooperated with LE if he did know anything?
  • Both/either TM or Mom Mayes are in for unrelated charges, i.e. not obstruction?
  • Papa Mayes didn't help AM flee, but either/both of the women might have?

things that make you go hmm...
