So didn't the media/LE say that the house where the bodies were found was owned by his mother and father? so were is his dad? we know where mom and the wife are....

IIRC it was reported mom and dad are holed up in a motel

My guess is, he was upset they were moving to another state.
Even if he thinks the girl is his bio kid, he has no legal rights to her.

I still have the 🤬🤬🤬 FB and the 2 younger girls FB.
The 2 desceased FB are gone.

I'm hoping his dad is assisting LE. His facebook profile should 'who do you admire or look up to" something like that and he replied his dad.

Sorry my keyboard is giving me fits so please excuse the capitalization and punctuation.

Wonder why they chose now to let us all know who were the deceased?
I'm just guessing, and hate to even think of it. :( But I think the condition of the remains were such that it was complicated (especially since trash was burned over the graves)...mother's DNA was there and daughter's DNA, but which daughter? Had to get and attempt to match dental records, etc...

I haven't seen it posted here, so JMO, but I read on wtva.com FB (I think?) that hair clippings were found somewhere (the evidence of altering appearance of the other girls and AM), so perhaps they had to DNA test those as well.

:( Very horrific...

I'm thinking that is where the earlier statement that 'the rest of the family has relocated to a motel' comes in.

Curious though. If Dad Mayes isn't in jail, too, then does that mean:
  • He knew nothing?
  • He cooperated with LE if he did know anything?
  • Both/either TM or Mom Mayes are in for unrelated charges, i.e. not obstruction?
  • Papa Mayes didn't help AM flee, but either/both of the women might have?

things that make you go hmm...

just had to quote you for a DOUBLE thanks for everything i didn't think of!

I wonder what vehicle Mayes was driving when he went to TN in the first place. More than likely he was driving the same vehicle or he may have traded the vehicle and never registered it. The way I see it he had to have some sort of transportation to get from MS to TN.

So it is AM's mom that is in custody? My late night comprehension skills are obviously lacking because for some reason I thought it was TM's mom.

Thanks for the clarification. This really does make me go hmmm. Mom abetted him but dad didn't?

In all the pics of the home in Whiteville, I've yet to see one with Uhaul parked. ????

Good eye.

Maybe it was either taken in by LE, or perhaps it hadn't been picked up yet? They might have had the uHaul reserved for pick-up sometime Friday, but with everyone missing, maybe Gary didn't go to get it? Since the Durango was abandoned, maybe he didn't have another vehicle with a tow hitch to pull it?

just brainstorming...

3 older sisters, two older brothers. I don't have anyone born after 1970 besides AM so there might be more. All born in NC. Where was AM born?

Back at ya! I hadn't thought about Pa Mayes at all until you brought it up. It was a thought provoking question.

Maybe the father was out visiting with the son who just got out of jail April 24th...three days before the Bains went missing. ??

So, if Gary Bain expected to drive U-haul w/Mayes the next day - why haven't we heard anything from LE? Gary wakes and find everyone gone? There is an info disconnect between Gary Bain waking and reporting family missing. WTF did he do all day if he had planned on driving to AZ with Mayes with the u-haul?

Teresa could have taken him up there, but who got him back?

We have to remember Shasta and Elizabeth in cases like these. AM obviously went into this wanting to keep Alexandria and Kyliyah -- for whatever reason? I can only pray that he really, in some demented way, believes he is their father and won't harm them. I know that is hoping for a lot because in my heart, I know why he wanted these girls... but I can hope. Shasta and Elizabeth made it through. Alexandria and Kyliyah can too! I'll personally donate to a trust for any medical care they will need when they are brought home. It won't be a lot... but it will be something and I just want them home!

BBM

What a kind thought!

I hope, though, that you will consider not restricting your gift.

When Shasta Groene came home, there was quite a trust fund that was specifically earmarked for therapy and education. Which seems like a wise provision, yes?

But her father, Steve Groene, contracted cancer. He didn't have medical insurance and his medical bills ate up their income. For awhile, he and Shasta were actually homeless. Even though there was close to $100K in Shasta's trust fund, the stipulations attached to it meant it could not be used for housing, food or other expenses of every day life.

And then for another period of time, the only place Steve could afford to rent backed onto the interstate, the same interstate that Joseph Duncan spotted them from. It was hugely triggering for Shasta to live there, as you can imagine.

Any child being homeless is horrible and a blot of shame on our nation as a whole. But for a little girl who went through all Shasta did just rips at my heart.

Fortunately, a reporter was doing a followup story and found out that Steve and Shasta had been homeless. The community rallied and donations were made to build them a lovely house in a nice location.

I wish so much that the USA would take an example from Austria (amongst other nations). When Elisabeth Fritzl and her children were discovered, they were provided with medical care and then housing and an income (and round the clock security) by the state. This allowed them to choose to maintain their privacy, so they weren't forced to sell their story to the media in order to survive.

Until or unless the USA makes such provisions for the victims of serious crime, I hope that kind hearted people who make donations keep in mind that sometimes life happens while other plans are being made.

Yes, it is Adam's mom: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7884625&postcount=1025

Adam and Teresa Mayes lived in the Alpine, MS, home with Adam's parents Mary and Johnny Mayes. Action News 5 learned that Mary Mayes is also in jail, according to Vinelink. Hardeman County will not say what she is charged with.

Carp. Maybe I'd read it wrong. Give me a couple of secs to dig up the articles again and verify which Mom it is.

It was Mary F Mayes, 65. AM's mother and TM's mother in law.

WWL, a local tv station has reported that multiple sources confirm it is Nicole, although the official declaration hasn't been made. Her body was discovered when the police department was searching that area. Not known why or how they knew to search the area.
Nicole? :waitasec:
