My gosh, the girls were both laying on their stomachs in front of Mayes when he shot himself.

Anyone have an ideas why they were both on their stomachs? Just resting?

The girls were laying down originally to hide. Then LE gave orders, of which, they followed. Not sure what the orders were, but I recall one of the girls lifted her head up. It was in the pressers they gave, it was aired on Nancy and Jane.

Really? I agree that what you mentioned would be important, but I would think they would wait a few days. I also don't think they were heavily interrogated last night. I just think the proper procedure would be to not do anything that would add to their stress. There is time for all of that later.

I agree. I mean if DNA were needed to tie the perp to the deed, then yes, time is of the essence. But if these girls have any vaginal trauma, LE already knows whodunit and he is dead.

In a few days, under the care of professionals who take tender care of young victims all the time, they can be examined to rule out STDs, treat any trauma, and God forbid, check for pregnancy in AB. .

But unlike some cases, there is no big rush. Poor babies.

Just pulled myself away from the Victoria Stafford trial thread. It's a wonderful outpouring of emotion over there in light of the guilty verdict of a predator of another young girl.

I've been so busy this week, and still managed to savour the fabulous news when Kaliyah and Alexandria were found safe and sound. May these two girls find peace and love in the arms of their community. My thoughts are with them.

DJ described Adam as "like a brother" to him for the last two years...apparently, he was that good at concealing his true nature and proclivities:

I think we can safely say that AM was a very slick liar. Which, with his other behavior points to sociopath, IMO. If he was that smooth and cunning I think it helps to answer some of the conflicting feelings/opinions as to why people would trust him. Even with CPS he could have said his sister wanted revenge (or something like it) and convinced everyone that that was the case. Maybe he actually was smart enough to clear out his stash of after his sister caught him. I don't know....because I don't know these people personally....but I would think if his sister was going to lie about the shaving legs incident she would have come up with something even more inflammatory? He was kissing her or worse? Moo

The one article stated that LE was stationed on the road the Bain's live on to make sure the family has some privacy. IMO, #1, the want to insure the girls feel safe again, and #2, to limit the access to the girls/family. I'm sure they don't want even the family to question them at this point. imo

I personally think that JB and SB were just too trusting of AM....i feel so sad for the fact that JoAnn Bains and Alexander Bains lives were taken by several Members of this Horrible Family. I am hoping that TM and AM's mother are held accountable for JB and AB's untimely Deaths.

Those poor children (AB & KB) were robbed of their innocence, not to mention their Mother and Sister.

In my own family my precious 11 year old niece was molested my her Bio-Mom's (my older sister!) husband. They lived in a 2 story house. Her 2 brothers and 2 step brothers slept up stairs. My Dear Niece was downstairs in the second Bedroom. My Bio-Sister drank herself to sleep and the Azz Hole Hubby was free to crawl into my DN's bed. She told her Dad and she was brought to me on a Sunday of her 5th grade year with the clothes on her back. She lived with me until she was 17. My B(iotch) Sister never gave me one penny. She also went back to this guy after a few months..Can you imaging the great family get togethers that we had. UGH..He was killed in a one car accident 2 days before Christmas of my DN's 17 year. Her older brother went to live with his Dad at age 13 and he finished High School the June after the A.H.'s Death. My Bio-Sister moved the older son and DN in to help her raise their youngest brother, who was 11. Bio-Sister has NEVER believed that the "sainted dead husband" ever did anything to her daughter. her Denial is Astounding!!!

Bio-Sister has played the part of a "sad widow" for the last 35 Years! We do not speak to each other and I refuse to even friend her on FaceBook. The last time I saw her was my precious Mom's funeral in 2002. My DN and I continue to have a great relationship and I consider her 3 year old child to be one of my grandchildren. She has suffered a lot due to his abuse...She is overweight and smokes...and is BiPolar, but she is on the needed RX.

Purpose of this story is to underscore the dysfunction that is alive and well in MANY families in America.

Non Family Member Abuse is at an epidemic level in America today....It happens across all socio-ecomonic levels...from the very rich to the very poor. This case just highlights the very worse of Family Dysfunction.

I am hoping that AM's body is NOT claimed by the remaining members of his family...Just let him be cremated and given a Paupers Burial. He does not deserve a family service or funeral. TM and MM do not deserve to be given ANY type of break in their charges. They KNEW what AM was doing and they protected HIM! They are without souls!

I am so glad YOU have been there for you DN! You are a Godsent! We (Webslueth) see too many times that family members DO NOT believe and sweep things under the rug. The fact that you were their for her, against alll odds makes another hero!

It wouldn't have been too traumatic and considering these girls were covered in poison ivy and bug bits maybe even easy for the HCPs to do without the girls really knowing. But they would have to do immediately bc of risk of infection etc if they were sexually abused. We also have to consider that even though AM is dead that there are other players facing charges and since we have no idea what happened we do not know if rape kits would have been ordered. I hate to say it but we do not know if he "paid" for help with the girl he didn't favor or if other suspects could be charged with trafficking etc...

Thanks, FrayedKnot. Subjecting them to all of that sounds very old school to me. Cutting edge knowledge is what I'm hoping the professionals that tended to girls possessed.

I think you make some very good points, even though I hate to think about it. When I read he wanted to buy Viagra, my heart sank.

ugh, The girls did see the murders of their mother and sister.

I'm not sure how you concluded from this article that they'd seen the murders, but I reached several opinions of my own from the article...thx for reposting it. Plz enlighten if I missed something....I could have.

This is what I got out of it:
The family won’t claim AM’s body and will hold no funeral services. The brother knew something like this would happen someday. Brother is relieved AM’s dead and feels no sadness about it. Believes it’s for the better.
It is quite apparent that his own brother could not stand Adam and his controlling and abusive manner, ways AM had been since childhood. Seems like even AM’s father is glad AM is dead.
Pitiable, the family dynamics here, especially knowing now how the mother favored AM among all others; the other children she neglected and probably abused.
My own observation, the brother and the murderer have similar facial characteristics according to the photo I saw on this site.

Too many lives destroyed, and those still living must somehow go on, hopefully, after being forced to contend with such evil.
