probably SOP - safety. The man that she was with was armed, dangerous and the suspect in a murder/robbery while in the company of the minor.

I would imagine that the very first order of business is to secure both the missing teen and the perp/murder suspect so that no further injury or loss of life can occur.

first order of business - secure scene
second - determine who's who and what's what

Nashville homicide suspect Daniel Clark has been captured and a missing 15-year-old girl from East Tennessee that was seen traveling with him has been found safe. Both are suspects in the "brutal" murder of store clerk John Daniel Stevens, 58, said Metro Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron.

"Both individuals are under investigation for a homicide. Both are homicide suspects. It is this departments belief that (the girl) had the opportunity to flee. We do not see any indication she was held against her will," Aaron said Wednesday morning.

I agree. But I also think they:

1. Possibly have more information than we do, such as electronic communications.

2. Are still trying to sort out the details of what happened.

I agree with you though. It seems like she should be assumed to be a victim for now. I don't know... This is clearly a complicated situation. MCET was very clearly groomed by her teacher. I'm not saying this young lady is not a victim, but they are different circumstances.

At this point we don't have all the facts. Perhaps there is something LE knows that we don't.

I do wonder what the initial plan was???? he had to know once the murder occurred and they fled on foot it was only a matter of time???

Police said they were notified of Quinn’s whereabouts after a dump truck driver saw her standing on the side of the road. “He drove down to the corner to a convenience market and called the police department."

Police said at the time of the shooting, Quinn was standing near the store’s entrance.

“It is this police department’s belief that Miss Quinn had opportunity at the market to flee. We do not see any indication that she was being held against her will."

After firing shots Clark went behind the counter and pulled out Stevens’ body and went through his pockets.

At this point in the investigation, police said it appears Clark took a set of keys before he and Quinn went into the parking lot and attempted to take a car. When the keys didn’t belong to that car, the two fled on foot after Clark shot out its windows.

I am gobsmacked that they are saying TQ was willing and could have escaped.

She is 15, ffs. If she were 13 would they word it like that? 15 is still a minor and she was obviously influenced by this creeper 🤬🤬🤬.

Makes me mad. :(

IMHO, the brutal and senseless homicide of a completely innocent third party distinguishes this case from other, similar cases. There's a big difference between a grooming that results in an teen abduction or runaway situation and one that results in a homicide.

I wonder how any 15 year old, who is under guidance of an older man, with a gun, would act after hearing shots fired. I would think it could make her freeze, scared to death. IMO

Yes there is a big difference, but if the homicide doesn't happen, then what, she's a victim? She didn't shoot anybody, she was there because he had her there, she is a victim either way. IMO

ADMIN NOTE The case of grooming/abduction with sexual intent of another young lady features a different set of circumstances.

This case is still developing and there is much we do not know. I can only assume LE have video of the robbery and murder involved in this case and/or have reason to suspect the minor was directly involved in the crime that led to the MURDER of the clerk.

A quick way to get THIS discussion shut down for review is to muddy the waters with comparisons to another case discussion with a completely different set of facts. Not the least of which is that nobody was murdered in the other case.

Shots fired twice. Both inside the store and outside after he attempted to steal a car, he blew out the windows.

The true victim, IMHO, is the deceased. May he rest in peace.

Yes he is a victim, and she is too. She is going to have to deal with this the rest of her life.

We don't know what LE knows but obviously it's more than we do. I think we sometimes forget that someone can be a victim of a crime while at the same time voluntarily committing another crime. So now we wait.

I don't know about you all (I'm 52), but if I was with some guy and he just shot a convenience store clerk to death, I don't know if I'd have the courage to "run" or if I'd freeze. I think I might be horrified he might shoot me too, if I ran. I'm not so sure we can expect a 15 yr old to be thinking rationally or maturely in such a situation.
