I've never heard of hug-a-tree so thanks for the link....I plan to check it out. Though, unfortunately, I don't think my autistic 4 year old would understand it at all. Maybe some day though. We hope to get an RV some day so I like getting all the tips I see on these unfortunate threads.

Sadly, I don't think Joe will be found alive. So much time has passed. It's still possible, of course. But I don't know what the weather has been like there.

I do think a 1 mile radius the first day was way too small.

Exactly, that's what I said. :) Can you be a little less vague? Are there any in particular? Can you use initials? Not sure what you're getting at.

I would say DB, CM, CD & JJ are all interesting. Just my :twocents: though.

The idea behind "hug a tree" is to get people to stay put once they realize they're lost. The more one wanders the more lost they get, and the harder to find them to help them. Stop and wait, which is very hard to do.

Especially for an autistic and/or young child.

Not liking the weather coming into the area. His poor family.

He found a hidden key??? Guess it wasn't hidden too well. And I don't know about this witness that claims to have seen him but didn't stop. Idk what to think about any of this.

I'm hoping that LE has checked this witness's vehicle and home.

This is so frustrating...if a child went outside and is missing..wouldn't it be somewhat easy to find him? I can't understand him not being found by now...he is cold and hungry

His feets must be so cold. [emoji22]

Some autistic children are under responsive to stimuli so they don't feel cold or hunger the same way we think about it. So those aren't necessarily triggers that would have him come out.

The hour between discovering he was missing to reporting him as missing is stuck with me.
Yeah, I could maybe see 30 minutes to check the property and check with the neighbors. But an hour is a lot.

Statistically, I would think it's unlikely that little Joe has been kidnapped after wandering off, but it's not totally impossible.

Has anyone posted a map of the registered sex offenders in the area?

I would love for one of our map people to show a trail of where his home is, where the witness saw him walking and where the LE just said they found those footprints. I am terrible with directions.

It bothers me also. Was Joe in school all this week? Has he been sick? Does he miss school often?

What if this person really did not see Joe? What if ........whatever.

I know the sheriff says it is credible, but if it is not, then all of us who follow these cases are suspicious of the outcome when the child is not found early on.

Please Lord, help find this little tyke. :please::please::please:
