Things I found interesting: Grandparent's master bedroom had double doors with a latch like the one on the back door. But the latch was on the outside of the door, which would lock someone IN the bedroom, not keep someone OUT. The bedroom had two bathrooms with a closet in between.

Also, Easter had been the previous Sunday. So far, there have been 2 Easter baskets shows, but there are 3 kids.

Jury is sorry but has a question about the inadmissible missing shoes and pajama boy in previous witness.
Were the legitimate claim not followed up or did the defense make them up?

Judge explains hearsay evidence and his ruling. Lawyers questions are not evidence. Disregard what you heard.

Playing audio of the defendant riding along with witness and detective Lovell, who has Tourettes. Jury has transcript to follow along. Really hard for these old ears to decipher what they are saying. Sorry.

After listening forever to audio I can't make out, the audio stops and the prosecutor tells the judge he thinks they are going to have to start over. The judge says, "No, we're not" and laughter erupts. Clearly I'm not the only person tired of listening to nothing. There's some kind of short in the wire and judge says they are 4 pages in the transcript from the end. Prosecutor questions witness who says defendant told her he woke up about 5:30 a.m., walked into living room, saw coffee table had been moved closer toward the double doors to the master bedroom, the lock wasn't on the door. Said Aunt Joyce wasn't in her bedroom and neither was Joe. Said they went to bed at 10 pm. Witness told def Alex said Joe had peed on the floor and dad confirmed. Said they check the lock every night before bed. Dad says sometimes Joe likes to go to very back of the yard. Bad thunderstorms and cold that night. Says Joe knows how to open and close trunk of car, but he didn't go anywhere. Dad's biggest fear was Joe trying to escape because he has tried that before, beginning when he was one year old. Said they had pizza for supper and cake. Joe had never escaped that long before, went into a ditch when escaping before. Discussion about dad driving to the truck stop, but that Joe wouldn't go there. Witness #1 goal was to find the child alive. Was suspicious of dad's story. Dad says when he woke up he just went back to bed, didn't spank or yell at him.

THP trooper had Daniel McCormick with him upon witness & Lovell's return to the house w/def. Def got out of the vehicle and walked away. Court is going to adjourn soon, return at 8:00 a.m. til noon.
Juror question re: coffee table near double doors. Was lock used previous night on those double doors or the back door? Issued to be addressed tomorrow morning.

HUGE thank you for transcribing today!!!!

Does anyone know if LE is still actively looking for little Joe? I just want him to be found. I really wish these monsters would just take a plea deal (if it’s not too late?) and tell where he is!

The impression I got was if they got a credible tip they would still follow it. But they appear to have done all humanly possible to find him. I'm trying hard to just follow the trial and no outside publicity on this, but man I get bad vibes from these parents. Too many signs that little Joe is probably much happier now than he ever was in that home.

BBM I completely agree with you.

Still Missing - TN - Joseph "Joe Clyde" Daniels, 5, Dickson, 3 Apr 2018 *autistic* *arrests* #2

6/4/21 Friday, Day 2 of Trial: They had a hearing this morning about what the prosecution is saying is an excited utterance. The 3 year old came into the room while Emergency Management personnel was taking down missing person info & said/asked 'Joe dead' three times. Aunt Joyce picked him up & said 'Yes, Joe dead baby'. Judge is pondering the four cases cited covering excited utterances to see if testimony about his can come in. This was at about 1:00pm. The guy told police about it around 7:00pm later. This was the day of the 911 call. Judge Wolfe rules the witnesses CAN testify about what they heard from the brother & aunt. Judge: I received two jury questions from yesterday: Why can we not hear the audio - what are the parts the jury cannot hear? This was regarding body cam footage shown yesterday. When Krystal Daniels spoke on that footage, it was muted because statements by her are not admissible in this trial. State witnesses: Dep. Timothy Simmons. Jurors watched body cam footage. The jury sent two notes for this witness: 1). If multiple clothes were in the hamper would that impact the K-9 & the scent article? 2). Can an aerial map of the area around the Daniels' residence by provided? First question Judge asks witness if sample came from a hamper with other clothes would it have made it more difficult for the dog to follow the scent? Answer: to paraphrase, it shouldn't matter. Dog will follow predominant scent. Aerial map will come up later in trial. Prosecutor showed photos of home. And shows aerial map. Next: EMS Brent Morse, who heard the 3 year old say "Joe dead". 2 questions from jurors: 1). Did 3 yr old say "Joe dead" as a statement or question? A: Question. 2). Was the tractor trailer searched? A. Eventually it was. These answers were not given to the jury. 1). A: asked & answered on cross. Next witness: William C. Bailey. With fire dept. 13 years, emergency services for 31 years, search & rescue team described for jury, includes Law Enforcement, Firement, EMS, park service, volunteers. Heard Noah say "Joe dead". Jury question: How high was the mantel where key was? Witness: Doesn't know for sure. Jeffrey Bledsoe, executive director for TN Sheriff's Assn. Previously Dickson Co Sheriff. Coordinated search for Joe Clyde. Showed aerial footage of scene. Jury is sorry but has a question about the inadmissible missing shoes & pajama boy. Were the legitimate claim not followed up or did the defense make them up? Judge explains hearsay evidence & his ruling. Lawyers questions are not evidence. Disregard what you heard. Patrick Looney, special agent for TBI's aviation unit, a pilot. Showed thermal aerial footage of search. Sarah McCartney. Detective with Dickson Co. Sheriff for 5 yrs. 10 yrs experience. Played audio of the defendant riding along with Dets. Sarah McCartney & Jeff Lovell. THP trooper had Daniel McCormick with him upon witness & Lovell's return to the house with defendant. Defendant got out of the vehicle & walked away. Juror question re: coffee table near double doors. Was lock used previous night on those double doors or the back door? Issued to be addressed tomorrow morning. Court adjourn, return at 8:00am til noon on 6/5/21.
*Krystal Nicole Daniels (27/now 30) “mom” arrested & charged (4/8/18) & indicted (6/8/18) with criminal responsibility aggravated child neglect & filing a false report. Charged (5/26/20) with criminal responsibility aggravated child neglect, accessory after the fact & making false reports to officers. $1M bond.
