Wonder if her Halloween costume was found in her car that morning?
Wonder what the costume was?

Correct, in that the husband can't later state he didn't consent to the search. It is in essence safeguarding what evidence LE may collect at the house.

MOO

Even if the husband gives his okay in the presence of more than one officer?
Maybe he could say he was pressured, didn't understand...
In my opinion, when a search warrant is involved the search can be of a more aggressive, more destructive nature (cutting out a section of rug, etc... for example) than if an owner gives permission...

Finally had a chance to get up to speed on Karen and so saddened to see that very little progress has seemed to have been made. Anybody here local know if any new developments have come about? It just sickens me that this keeps happening time and time again with no resolution. So SCARY!

It was found in the car that morning ~ from the Media Links Thread:

Friend says police have found missing mom's clothing[/b]
Police trying to solve the disappearance of Karen Johnson Swift have recovered her clothing, the woman's friend reports. Swift, a mother of four, has been missing since her car was found abandoned on a rural Tennessee road on Oct. 30.
"They found her Halloween costume in the car. Some other articles of clothing that belonged to her -- a pair of jeans and a gray zip-up -- were found in some brush not far from her car. They confirmed [the clothing items] belong to her. They took DNA from her mother and compared it to DNA on the clothes," Swift's friend Laura Jane told The Huffington Post.

Not anything that has been reported. I keep thinking we will hear something once all the labs get back.
I am also not sure that any clothes that have been found have been reported to positively be hers.HTH

Has TBI solved any crimes? Ever?

LOL, I feel sure they have but I have not researched it. I just feel that this one is gonna be solved by our local LE. I really do.

I hope you're right. There are now 5 missing women in TN and none solved or even close to being solved. It's very discouraging.

Do we have any evidence, other than the father's word, that they even saw each other at 1:30? Did the daughter corroborate that?

Box did say one of the last people Karen Swift was in touch with before she disappeared was her teenage daughter. She sent a text message to her mom saying, “Mom come get me.” Authorities say Karen Swift picked up her daughter from a Halloween party. According to investigators, they arrived home between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Sunday, October 30th. Later that morning, Karen Swift was gone.

Her husband David, whom she was divorcing, told police he last saw his wife at home after she returned from the party to drop off their children.
Mr Swift said they spoke briefly before he went to bed, but he has not talked to reporters about his wife. She filed for divorce on October 11.

I believe the daughter is 9 and that is hardly a teenager, lol. Nothing is being told to the public which leads me to believe they have lots to go on. They are not gonna put everything out I don't believe. I was told the child who called her had a cell phone wherever she was staying that night.

I'm sure the TBI has solved more than a few cases.

I live in Tennessee, so believe me it's disturbing, but I have faith that these cases will be solved. I don't believe they are all connected anyway - I don't think we know everything about any of these cases.

Totally agree. I don't think they are connected at all.
See you guys tonight! Work calls.

The search warrant would contain specific areas to be searched, and what LE is searching for. Again, it is to safeguard any evidence collected against an unlawful, non-consensual search. In addition, for example, with a search warrant if LE were to detect blood on said rug, they can collect the rug or any part of it over the owner's objection.

Swift, a 1985 Walnut Ridge High School graduate, has not been seen since Oct. 30, and Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box has refused to comment about the case.

Repeated phone calls and messages to the sheriff have not been returned. Box is in charge of the investigation and the only person at his office authorized to comment, according to officials there. Other media outlets have also reported trouble with contacting Box.

I don't have a problem with Sheriff Box remaining quiet on this case. We know they have collected evidence including clothing found in the woods. There could be really good reasons that he wouldn't want to share that with the public. They don't want to tip their hand if they are looking at certain people.

My concern is this will go unsolved as in Holly Bobo's case and so many others. LE suddenly stop updating the public and before we know it.....months, years go by without a resolution.

It's been 3 weeks already since she disappeared. I was hoping some evidence would point one way or other but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I thought her daughters were 9 and 6. Not teenagers. I was watching HLN news yesterday and they covered this case for a short segment. That was the ages they mentioned IIRC. I had the assumption that the daughters were quite younger than the sons, though.
