Thinking of you Karen

Does anyone know if the 2 young daughters are still in the family home (since I would think their father is working)?

Where did the Neighbor (not sure if we're allowed to post his last name and I don't know the first name so can't post the initials) who poisoned the dogs live in relation to Karen and her family? I saw the RSO location marked on a map but not the Neighbor's location.

TIA :seeya:

H*********'s Harness Road address is approximately 50 yards from the Swift residence on Willie Johnson Road

Not sure where the daughters are...... Nothing really has been said about the family.

The wheels do seem to turn slowly in TN....

Wouldn't it be great to be able to be a little lady bug (or fly or whatever) perched on a wall, privvy to see and hear all that is really going on!!

Blessings to Karen's children during this difficult time!!

Thinking about you Karen! Please watch out for you little girls, your handsome boys, your sister Lisa, your mom, all of your loved ones left here without you.

Hoping that justice is served soon. What is taking so long? :sigh:

Hope Justice comes soon in this case.

For the sake of conversation, it looks like the husband did it; what evidence do they have so far in this case?

  • #470
Nobody knows really anything like what evidence. Sheriff box has been really quiet which I can see why don't want to mess up the case. There's a lot of rumors being said about this case but it's just rumors. I just hope it doesn't go cold. The way I understand this town has some powerful people in it so who knows really? Time will tell. RIP Karen Swift!

Owife is right, we just do not know what kind of evidence the police have in this case. The police have been extremely quiet from day one.
We know that 2 homes were searched before Karen's body was found.
We know that the husband was questioned; and we know that the neighbor was questioned.
We know that Karen went to a party that night.
Was the location of the party ever searched? Not that I know.
We know that Karen's daughter was sick.
We know that she layed down with her sick daughter.
We know that her husband claimed to see her on the stair landing that night.
We know that Sheriff Box said that DNA evidence was found in her car and on her body.
We do NOT know if that DNA evidence was conclusive or even someone elses.
Authorities have not even released the cause of death :sigh:
We know that Karen's parents buried her near them.
We know that Karen's son said that his father was not involved.
We know that LE "cleared" the neighbor.

I know that this case is still not solved! :waiting:

We know a lot it seems....but le is holding back all the crucial evidence. I guess that's good, no need to ask the public for assistance. Building a solid case for a sure conviction is always worth the wait. :twocents:

We know they have Karen's text messages to her friends from the days before and the day she went missing.

We know she was working hard cleaning an old house for Habitat for Humanity to make a few hundred bucks. Scrubbing and setting off bug bombs. *see text message picture at link below* Hardly the glamour life.

We know her friends were the first ones to tell police that she wouldn't just run off and leave her children. They were certainly right about that.

We also know that she left her husband once, but financially she couldn't make it.
We know that they later remarried.
We know that she filed for divorce, and left town with her little daughters when her husband was served.
We know that she is now successful in a landscape business and that she is more financially set.
We know that even though they were going through a divorce, she and her husband still lived together.
We know that her friends have stated that her husband was controlling.
We know that LE has called this a homicide; and Sheriff Box indicated that an arrest would come after the ME finished with the autopsy.

Nothing new, just an article to say there is nothing new to report. At least it is an article!

Thanks so much for posting the article Coco...

Also, in the article it states there are "no suspects"....are you kidding me?! I find that hard to believe...did someone just pop out of nowhere, truly doubt it!!

The various evidence locations seem too staged, for that...all within a neat, tidy radius of Karen's abandoned car and home where she was reportedly last seen. Hmmmm...how did her body become distanced from her disabled vehicle? Someone was headed toward home driving Karen's car when, probably, it could no longer be driven due to the tire being off the rim, but who? Karen or....?

Also, MSM stated there was a "court order issued" to not disclose Karen's autopsy results....what?! :what:

Does that sort of thing happen often?

Obviously, there must be some significant damning evidence there, imo, anyway!

We're supposed to have a swift and just criminal justice system...nothing and noone should be able to stand in the way of those tenents, imvho!

1) We now know, the autopsy is completed.

2) We know that one of her daughters was interviewed by LE.

3) We know her jeans and sweatshirt were found under bushes, near her abandoned car, neatly folded.

4) We know she was not enjoying the Halloween party presumably the night before she was murdered, and that she had called and/or texted a female friend around 11:00 pm or so that same night saying it was important the friend call back.

5) We know the friend did not get the messages until later the next day so did not call Karen back to find out what she needed to talk about.

6) We know the husband was not the first to report Karen missing.

7) We know the husband lawyered-up.

8) (This may already have been mentioned....)
We know that the neighbor, JH, poisoned Karen's dog just days before Karen was murdered.

9) We know JH was arrested by LE after Karen disappeared.

"Dyer County Sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect on an outstanding felony warrant for animal cruelty while searching for evidence in the Karen Johnson Swift case."

Snipped for relevance...

Just realized that the above link lists an address for JH that is about 9 miles from the Swift residence which is obviously not the address JH resided at when Karen disappeared and was murdered because then he lived about 50 yards away from her since he was the "neighbor" who poisoned her dog and another neighbor's dog.

After doing a search, I discovered that JH moves around alot! He has had several different addresses in Dyersburg and other TN towns. Actually the address mentioned for JH in the link above is not far from The Farms where Karen attended the Halloween party a few hours prior to her disappearance.

Interestingly, JH lived between Karen's residence, abandoned car, and location where her body was found, but JH lived closest to Karen's residence and where her car was initially located (her residence) in the early morning hours of her disappearance.

On another note, the following quote pertains to a local who knew the Swift family and reportedly called DS the morning Karen disappeared to tell DS he saw Karen's abandoned car along the side of the road:

"Marty Lamb was driving to work around 5:30 AM Sunday when he found Karen Swift's car with a flat tire on Millsville Road in Dyersburg. He says he didn't call police because he didn't think anything of it."

http://www.wreg.com/news/wreg-dyersburg-mom-missing,0,7442521.story

If he "didn't think anything of it"...why did he call DS to report it to him and why did he reportedly pull in behind the car to see if anyone was inside rather than just driving on by? Just some more thoughts...

As always, my opinions only...
