An arrest warrant charging kidnapping has been issued against German Rodriguezz, 19, after he picked up his ex-girlfriend, with whom he has a child, Thursday afternoon at McGavock High School.

Sixteen-year-old Maricsa Beltran-Lopez reported last Friday that Rodruguezz had been harassing her, following her, and showing up at school. Her family made phone contact with her last night, but the conversation ended abruptly and her cell phone has since been turned off.

Beltran-Lopez and Rodriguezz were last seen in the tri-cities area today at 10:30 a.m. at the Comfort Inn and Suites South, 4624 Fairlane Drive, in Kingsport, Tennessee. A Tennessee State Trooper went to the motel but the couple had already left.

Beltran-Lopez and Rodriguezz are believed to be traveling in a 2000 Honda Civic bearing Tennessee tag W0789X.

Anyone knowing their whereabouts is urged to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600.

Rodriguez is wanted for kidnapping. It doesn't matter that they have a child together.

IMO

If he knowingly removes or confines another unlawfully so as to interfere substantially with the other’s liberty, that is kidnapping under Tennessee law. I'm glad she is safe and I hope he is in jail for a while so she can grow into adulthood without being stalked or living in fear.
