Making a calendar reminder to myself now that the petition to compel evidence filed by ET's father via the family attorney goes in front of judge tomorrow morning. My fingers are crossed tight on this one, I strongly believe that if the individuals withholding evidence comply that we could get a break in the investigation. It's time for Elizabeth to come home and start her new life and for TC to face what he's got coming to him.

Does anyone know the consequences of a minor refusing to cooperate under court order?

I'm thinking as my 15 year old self. For example, if I made a promise to my best friend that I wouldn't tell her secret, I would keep my mouth shut. Of course if I thought she was in danger I may not, but if I didn't comprehend the danger I'd deny knowing anything, rolling my eyes like "yeah sure, Mr. Cummins isn't dangerous".

According to Today, Elizabeth's mother, Kimberly Thomas, was arrested last year after it was revealed that she abused the 15-year-old, as well as three of her sisters.


Records show that Thomas beat her children — sometimes until they bled. She was arrested in 2016 and charged with child abuse and neglect.


As Today reports, Elizabeth allegedly told police that her mother “threw her down the basement stairs and locked her down there.”


Thomas has not yet gone to trial for these charges.

Elizabeth Thomas has had a tough life already at 15. That may have played a factor in leaving her vulnerable to grooming by Tad Cummins.


Authorities have said Cummins, 50, lured and groomed Thomas, 15, before the kidnapping.

Thank you for being honest with your opinion.

IMO for this situation, thats the thing. I think there is real danger for ET being with TC. Anyone like TC who is willing to throw away his wife and family like he did with no care about them to do what he is doing is somewhat sick in the head IMO.

And being with that type of person then ET can be in serious danger when he gets backed into a corner by LE. Especially when we throw in the religious beliefs that TC may or may not have. There is a huge unknown of what he may do and that is real danger to me.

You bring up a good point though that a friend or ET may not quite see the danger in that way. Lets hope someone does and can give LE a clue to their whereabouts.

As a 15yo, I think if my friend went off with someone, I'd be able to keep the secret as long as I KNEW that she was o.k.
IOW, I was able to contact her or she was keeping in touch with me.
The second I got scared for her safety, I'd blab ALL OF IT!! Especially if being questioned by the police.
I got freaked out by being called to the Principal's office ONCE in elementary school. I have a phobia of "those in the position of authority" - whoever they are! MOO

Excellent question. Which brings me back to, would it be possible that the mother is involved some how? Possibly giving them "parental consent". I doubt anyone in another state would check the current status of custody. Most people do not question a mother having custody.

I think few normal kids would keep quiet when a police officer or a judge is sitting them down and soberly demanding information. At that moment it's not a matter of refusing to talk to parents or the school. It's very real and most kids talk.

When I was a teen i wasn't truthful with authority figures. When it came to friends, one would lie and the other would swear to it. Needless to say, I was in trouble a lot.

My 15 year old brain thought a dangerous man would look dangerous, and not work in a school. Like the creepy stranger who would try to get you to go to his car.

I'm hoping her friends don't have the same mindset my friends and I had at that age.

I do have a lot of sympathy for his wife. I sincerely hope that she uses her unique position of also being a victim of Tad Cummins to be an example to the deluded members of that community that still think Tad Cummins is Mr. Wonderful and are blaming the victim, Elizabeth. JC has the power to be a proactive force in changing those perceptions and beliefs.

Only by breaking though that persistent ignorance and guilt of the pro-Tad'ers will the full truth be told about Tad Cummins. IMO he has victimized and terrorized into silence so many more and those people will not come forward if they fear being victimized again by the community.

Sadly, I think they are long gone in another country by now with help through his prior mission connections. Don't know why but he was well liked by many people that I'm sure would help him in a pinch, it was better planned out then most people think. Hopefully someday they slip up and get recognized. I'm sure their appearance has completely changed. Not much more to add to this thread. I think we have gone over every possibility. Hopefully sooner than later they are found.

I imagine there would be consequences if a minor lies to LE but I'm not sure that LE can compel a minor to talk to them. JMO

It's sad that it has to come to that to get them to talk. If my son had information about a missing kid I would have him talk to LE.

The fbi probably has already seen every text and email and sm messages between ET and her friends.

So I doubt a deposition would bare fruit.

On the subject of how he clearly doesn't care about his family, I keep thinking that even this "pathologically lying, narcissistic, souless heap of human waste" (could not have said this better myself!) must have a soft spot for his grandchildren. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part but I suspect the grandchildren were the sole factor that gave him second thoughts (if he had second thoughts at all).

I feel the same way, though realize it could be just because even using my most vivid imagination..... I. Cannot. Imagine.

If he did that, he would have been caught, already. All investigators would have to do is contact his prior mission connections. They could do that in a few hours.

Read some of the articles about how to disappear. 1. Change your appearance, to something not normal for you. 2. Go to a place you have not been to, and would not normally go to. 3. Do activities, you would not normally do. Once a person slips up and does something normal, or expected, they can be found instantly. TC is not getting caught, so he must be sticking to those rules. TC can't use any prior connections, or he will be caught. He must be using new connections.

I think LE can make it very clear that when Elizabeth and Tad Cummins are found and/or other witnesses talk, and info comes out that the uncooperative witnesses withheld info under court order, there can be severe consequences. That may convince them that this is a life threatening situation.
