NO. I'm her oldest sister. We reported her missing at 7:30PM CST and local LE didn't even want to do that because at first they wanted her listed as a runaway. When it was verified on Tuesday that she was with him it changed to a missing children's alert

Thank you for participating on this forum as it gives us all better insight on the situation..Prayers for your family on Elizabeth's safe and speedy return..

Has anyone been able to find out if TC spoke Spanish?

MCElizabethsSISTER- Does Elizabeth speak any other languages? Did she ever mention TC as being fluent in Spanish?

If I worked at a restaurant and saw a young girl leave her bag, possibly containing personal items like hair care products or clothing, the last thing I would do is put it outside where it could get stolen or thrown away.
I would keep it in the back until the child returned for it.
Maybe things are different in small towns? Or maybe this restaurant worker made a poor choice? But I certainly would not sit a little girls items outside. SMH

At least give it to the hostess or cashier to hold...

They sure do according to the street view. It's mounted just to the left of the entrance - plain as day. Now granted that image was taken in 2013 but what business these days DOESN'T have security cams?

It also could be just a 'dummy' camera that doesn't actually record anything, but is there to make it look like there is security. I am from a small town in WI, and some business here have these type of 'dummy' cameras fwiw [emoji53]

She only speaks English and teen slag which you would need urban dictionary to often translate.

They told local LE they didn't have cameras and couldn't help them

Aimed right at the front entrance. I found a view from January this year and it's still in the exact same spot. Maybe LE need to speak to the folks at Shoney's again?

We understand. As family we were irritated. However local LE continues to tell us that shoneys says it's not hooked up and doesn't record

Good point. I hadn't even thought of that. Ugh. :gaah:

Maybe TC called Shoney's and asked for someone to place the bag outside?
It makes me angry that the restaurant isn't being cooperative!
MOO

Or the camera doesn't work. I own a gas station. Sometimes the cameras are out of order.

might be disabled /broken and never repaired..or the same for the DVR

Correct. LE and family didn't understand this either. Shoneys hasn't been cooperative

Weird! Maybe your sis or Cummins called Shoneys and asked them to put the bag outside? Hopefully Shoneys has shared surveillance video. JMO

I'm sure TBI has went to every local businesses in that area and asked to see their footage. Just like how they released the images of him pumping gas and shopping in the days prior to taking her. I'm sure they certainly know a bit more then they are releasing.

Could they have called the restaurant to verify it was still there (make sure no one had stolen it) and asked them to put it outside as they were en route to pick it up and were in a hurry?

Corrected by the 18yr sister. She took Spanish this semester and had a 90 in the class. It was her first semester in Spanish.

The media has the timeline messed up. I was there when she was reported missing at 7:30 PM CST on Monday evening. We are working on getting the media to correct their timeline.

Sorry to hear that. For other cases, folks have actually called the reporter and it was corrected within 30 minutes. I feel your pain as Channel 4 with that story by Kara Apel http://www.wsmv.com/story/34847280/amber-alert-search-continues-for-missing-teen-teacher-from-tn# with the timeline that you think is in need of correction makes it almost impossible to reach a reporter or even leave a voicemail.

:pullhair: with media and :grouphug: for you and your family.

That just seems so weird to me. That they'd set the bag outside instead of someplace like a manager's office or some place safe for the owner to return and collect it.

Maybe they were called and asked to do that.

Screenshots from Google Street. Do we just link the Google map?

She has only lived in TN. She has only left the state once and that was to go to an amusement park with family. She isn't a camper. She needs showers and bathrooms and hair products.

Welcome, Kat. :grouphug:
I pray for your sister every day and hope that this is the day that she comes home.

This ^ is the thing I wanted to know about your sister. At her age, I would definitely not been OK with an extended camping trip with limited facilities. I feel that she is somewhere more comfortable - in a cabin at the very least.

I googled Alabama cabins (based on the Decatur, AL phone ping) and the campground ones without bathrooms start at $30 per night. The cabins with their own bathrooms start at $50 per night.
