They also were pretty flippant with the girl that reported the kiss. She was very credible, she even went to TC first and confronted him and asked him what the relationship was. She wasn't buying any of his stories and wrote down his answers and reported him. She had also been very close with TC and felt they were friends, spent a lot of time in his room. It wasn't even some kid that didn't like him.

They really basically told her their hands were washed from it after she talked to several and she would ask them about it.

Then after they disappeared, one kid sent her a text blaming her for them disappearing. Basically they ran because she reported TC.

Some info in here i didn't know about the child that reported the 'kiss'. She was 12, correct? and she was one that was also hanging out in his room and thought they were 'close'? Don't beat the questioner... BUT... again as a young girl... could she have been 'jealous' of the attention ET was getting, seeing the kiss? and could it have been taken that way by school? Was he also 'grooming' this younger one? or did he act that way with MANY of the girls and that's why they are defending him? was it normal behavior for him (NOT that it is right, he most definitely crossed lines).
I remember being 15.. had a few teachers that were all popular etc... I swear i remember a kiss on the cheek from student to teacher as a thank you. And hugs were VERY common (back in 70s) and not considered sexual. If it WASN"T for the IG accounts and the inappropriateness of those, SOME of the individual things could be written off... there are just TOO many tho... and the IG and secretiveness pushes it over the edge. Bringing her to church WITH HIS WIFE ......... throws a little bit of a curve to it IMO.

Here are my two theories:

1. He was able to obtain a rental "somewhere" in the USA for a month or more, somewhere he paid in advance or paid with cash upon arrival. somewhere no one would recognize him but outside the Tennessee/Alabama area. He planned this for at least a month, stocking up on food and supplies. The rental has a garage where he has kept the car during this time and where the two have been hiding in the home/cabin.

2. They are somewhere in Mexico, close to the border, along the Gulf beaches, around the state of Tamaulipas, south of Brownsville or over by Mazatlan. I can't see him going all the way to Panama, he would have to travel through some crime-ridden countries (El Salvador, Guatamala, Honduras). I don't think he went deep into Mexico, states such as Oaxaca and Vera Cruz are riddled with crime all over (See Jenny Chen missing thread). Whenever I hear people fleeing to Mexico, I think about Affluenza Mom who made it all the way to Puerto Vallarta from Texas, where she was able to live relatively inexpensive (if her dumb-🤬🤬🤬 son didn't turn on his cellphone and order Dominos Pizza, they would never have been caught).

Anyway, that's my opinion.

YES. We all know this is a crime, a kidnapping, etc., etc., etc. But, in her 15 year old mind, ET wanted to believe (or believes) that TC is her savior, her lover [puke], and whatnot ----which will make finding them even harder. Nothing stronger than "it's us against the world, honey bunny".

Yeah, but if they are in a primitive camping situation, she will break. She may have already started to crack. And if she is, I wonder if she would have the ability to persuade him to spring for a hotel for a night here and there. That would be a good thing in terms of slipping up.

Bring her home to her loving family -- probably; but bring her home to her concerned and supportive community -- I wonder? Harper Valley?

I covered some of that on a later post, I don't think she was jealous. Also his grandson was there in the room, I saw another article that said he saw the kiss too.

This is true - but again, I can try to exculpate/absolve/interpret my little sister all I can. Now tell me this: if the sister KNEW this crap was going on, why did she not tell someone immediately? Why wait until ET was gone? I find it all so confusing. I feel horrible for the sister as well.
I would like to think that she had no idea of the extent! Just as ET's father didn't find out about the kiss they shared until days later!

I'm not sure this sister knew before all this happened, remember, there are 9 siblings. I've also seen an interview with one sister that is around 19, that is of a different view and also supports the mom, according to the article, so...

What law? I've never heard of any such law in the US.

TN state law, someone posted about it after I commented about it.

It is my understanding that it is a national Amber Alert. It is on the National Amber Alert page and the FBI are involved.
Can you link the page? What we saw on the AA page is it was clearly TN and AL only two days ago. People aren't getting alerts for it.

Oh man... I hope you are wrong. I don't think they had -I cant even write this without squirming- been sexually intimate. I think the main reason ET was looking up teenage marriage is to assure herself that if they were married then sex was ok (we know it's not). Son, my theory is that she would not "consent" to sex until they were, somehow, "married".

Okay, that made me throw up in my mouth a little.

19 siblings?! You sure?

"Our kidnapping statute says in essence through it's silence on that issue. It's saying that you can be between 13 and 18 and you can legally make the mature decision to leave your family and run off with a person never to be seen again."

So if ET & TC are found and she wants to stay him... That's it?

During the press conference they stated that her going willingly was not an option be wise regardless it was kidnapping. But this kind of contradicts that.

Oh, I'm with you sister. She will break without her interwebs, her hot water, her clean bed...

Just had a thought. I booked a vacation rental on AirBNB and never met or spoke to the person I rented from. There was a private parking space and a lockbox with the key. Air BNB has a lot of off the grid rentals, all over the world! You do have to provide information when you sign up, but I bet that can be faked and then use a Visa Gift Card, or whatever, to make the payment and you're off the grid! Many of these can be monthly rentals as well.

Great post!

Possibly! Maybe park the Nissan in the garage and let him drive a different vehicle. Say ET tells of all this horrible abuse and people think he is "saving her". so they help hide them out. I ran away as a teen and people let me stay with them all the time.

This has honestly been my thought the entire time. I am hard pressed to think watching a TV episode and a couple of internet searches for "off the grid living" could adequately prepare him. Factor in a 15 yo female and the chances for long term camping/hiding etc are even lower, IMO.

My guess is Mexico as a missionary or having outside help. Could be combo of both? $4500 will not last forever and as we know, additional funds are not forthcoming from any missionary type programs.

I very much think the concern is that well meaning friends are helping him, I came to that conclusion last night.

Also understand most people just aren't that bright. It's why people will buy a product that doesn't work because they "saw it on TV" Also most of us here are in fields where we've seen the worst in people or we've been victims of it so we don't have naive blinders on. The teachers forget what it feels like to be 15, that 15 year old girls don't find grandpa alluring. The attention may be flaterring, but the reality of a romance with grandpa is icky. Women are competitive, especially with teen girls who have youth and beauty and so putting ET in the role of harlot makes them feel protected. As for the other girls in school? I'm willing to bet ET wasn't the only girl receiving "special" attention. And the admin? They're going to circle the wagons and protect themselves from any litigation by blaming the child. I still remember a young girl being reprimanded by her mother for "stealing" her mother's boyfriends away. She had been raped by three of her mother's boyfriends and her mother blamed the child for flirting with the men and stealing them away from her. We had a young girl in town who was touched nappropriately. She kicked him where it counts and told her parents and there were people in town that believed she had seduced him and was trying to ruin his reputation. She was 9 at the time. That's why I say I'm not at all surprised with the town's reaction, but they need to understand they are facilitating not only the danger that ET is in, but they're sending a message to other predators in their community and putting their own children at risk. I do believe that LE worry someone is town is withholding information and if that's true, should anything more happen to ET they'll be to blame. And given the atmosphere of this community, you can see how difficult it must have been for the teacher who reported TC to have come forward. I still think they're close by, he's got the support of townsfolk and when he runs out of money he'll need that. Hang in there Elizabeth, just hang in there.
