I think part of the answer might lie in the fact that, according to the father and his attorney, the sheriff's department showed up to question the father. That seems very different, to me anyway, from simply informing the father of the kissing incident. What they would have "questioned" the father about is a complete mystery, though. Perhaps they were asking if the father knew of any contact between the two outside of school, or if the sisters might know anything, etc. etc. I would guess it was along these lines, but that's simply speculation on my part. My gut feeling from everything I've been able to piece together so far is that, in the course of the school investigation into the kissing incident, someone must have said something that triggered red flags...either to the school or LE. Clearly, the investigation did NOT stop with the school report, that much at least seems obvious.

Nodding. You got it! I was surprised in rereading the articles to note that LE was still in the process of conducting their own criminal (and the DA termed it criminal) investigation when TC abducted ET. The reason I find this interesting is because I believe there was more to find out and he left when he did, taking the witness, to shut this whole thing down. There's more, and I fear it's bad enough that he abducted ET to keep himself from further charges. That means she's not sitting soaking up the on the beach, wearing a flashy new wedding band and being served by Juan the cabana boy while TC fans her. And I apologize in advance to her family, but I think she's in severe danger and if anyone in town has any information they need to come forward quickly.

I'm off to actually do some housework (because seriously, my house smells like garbage).

Sorry to drive everyone crazy picking every little thing apart until there's nothing left but bone. I'm annoying. Hang in there. LOL!
Well there are a lot of inconsistenties we seen in reporting, like I said for me, more than usual. I believe even the starting of school has been an issue and Kat has mentioned some things also.

her mother was charged in January 2016 and ET attended public school for the first time in September of 2016. the school had only "known" her for five months.

our verified insider even said her 'homeschooling' was a joke and that there was "never a book in front of her". so IMO I doubt the school had a real handle on her educational background and home life. child services was well aware however.

keep in mind the human factor too folks. the T's and/or the C's could have a best friend or worst enemy on the school board and in law enforcement. none of us, including the latter, live to the letter of the law 110% of our lives and even those sworn to uphold those laws aren't perfect. i'm just not blaming the school or LE. I blame TC.

Just very sad.

Today on "The Talk," they are going to play the song he sang to that other student.

Hope they warn viewers about possible brain seizures first.

PLEASE!!! It's been so helpful to have you do that, dog with a bone type of thing. It made me reread and look over carefully what was stated by LE and the family attorney. Not annoying, smart and detailed. I like that!

BINGO!

And let's remember, we have no idea what TC or ET (or anyone else for that matter) told the school during the initial investigation of the kissing incident. It is entirely possible that the school felt they WERE putting this child first by involving LE and having them visit the child's home to talk to the father. People keep saying the father wasn't informed until a week later, which is technically true, but again, 2 of those days were on the weekend when school officials wouldn't have been working.

The kissing incident occurred on January 23, school was informed on the 24th.

On January 31st (Tuesday) ET was pulled from TC's class. ET was also warned to keep ET away. Also on January 31st, ET's father was alerted by LE that an incident took place.

On February 3rd (Friday) TC was told that ET was in his class, a violation of a directive from the principal.

I can't seem to locate the letter from Amanda from the school telling ET's father that she was surprised Principal Love hadn't contacted him earlier.

Check out documents here which aren't part of the media packet I posted earlier - lots of background info:

There are two media packets, some have the same documents, but one has an investigative report from the school:

I'm going to save that second one to my library.

I noticed in the first one the school report mentioned an email from TC on their write up about the kiss. I never saw that email. Did I skip it or was it not there?

Maybe LE came to the home to question ET.

This one is somewhat updated with ET's father's lawyer's letter to the school as well as the Investigation Report from the school:

I didn't realize until today that there are two "media packets".

I asked her sister about the backpack the other day. She said a change of clothes was in it. I'm still not sure if there was one or two changes of clothes.

January 31
Culleoka Unit School Principal Penny Love tells Cummins not to allow Elizabeth into his classroom, according to an official reprimand issued to the teacher. Love also tells Elizabeth to stay out of his classroom, the reprimand says.

Law enforcement informs the school district that Cummins is the subject of an investigation, according to the district. The district hands over its investigative materials.

A Maury County Sheriff's Department detective contacts Elizabeth's father, Anthony Thomas, and informs him of the investigation, not knowing Thomas was unaware of the kissing allegation, according to a letter from Thomas' attorney, Jason Whatley, to schools Superintendent Chris Marczak. Thomas calls Love, "but was unable to get an answer of any kind," the letter states.

February 1
Thomas contacts a woman in Marczak's office who expresses concern Thomas "had been left in the dark" and says she feels Love should've informed him, according to Whatley's letter. She also says the investigation remains ongoing and assures Thomas there will be no more communication between Cummins and his daughter.

Is there a way to re-post the second Redacted so that it could be downloaded? I cannot download from scibd.com. Thank you.

First time posting on this case but I've read the entirety of the threads. I listened to that song he sang to the other student and my stomach turned. It's my opinion he's been trying to groom other students for years. Maybe ET is the first one he's been able to victimize to this extent, maybe not (aside from the kidnapping of course). I have two "family friends" in prison for sex crimes with children. I was molested myself as a young girl, so my radar for these things is pretty in tune, but I suspected nothing from either of these men. They are both in their 50's and 60's and had been victimizing at least one victim for many years. Shock doesn't begin to describe it.

I think there were lots of red flags with TC. A couple of years ago, when my daughter was in 8th grade, I learned that the male PE teacher (in his late 40's/early 50's) was making what I consider inappropriate remarks to a certain young girl in their class. This girl and my daughter would walk/run the track together and at some point every day the PE teacher would come up beside the other girl and make a comment about her beauty. One day he told her she had "beautiful lips." He even questioned my daughter about a ring she was wearing, asking if it was a "purity ring." I felt that was an inappropriate question from a teacher to a student, in addition to the remarks to the other student (who had no father figure in her life). I went to the principal and he told me it was innocent and that the PE teacher was trying to be a "father figure" to the other student. I let him know that those comments were inappropriate and unacceptable and imo, red flags. We agreed to disagree but I told my daughter to stay away from the teacher and the teacher quit for another job at the end of the semester. This PE teacher had also friended me on FB. I unfriended him. All that to say, innocent intentions or not, I feel those comments were inappropriate and I also feel the principal's reaction is far too common. It's easy for people to brush things off as "he's not that kind of guy" when they think they know someone.
