It was so hard to watch JC, she appears devastated and very angry (which is a good sign). She probably spent most of the 30 years with Tad Cummins enduring one disappointment after another, and basically taking care of a lazy, demanding, self-obsessed, human encumbrance. She probably always felt that one day he might show signs of growing up and growing a conscience. But the next thing you know it's 30 years and instead of Tad Cummins showing signs of maturity and gratefulness to the woman who put up with him, he flips the switch and it is like they never existed. The reality of that has got to leave some real emotional scars. I try to remember that she is in significant pain too.

I think this is a good point. I believe Tad Cummins has been a whiny, entitled jerk for years. I was searching for stuff on Pacer case locator and noticed that he and his wife filed Ch 7 bankruptcy in 1999. The bankruptcy specifically named his "martial arts business" in the documents. I had read about this in the media packet documents. He mentions in his resume websites that he has developed: tadcummins.com (no longer online), cryforholiness.faithweb.com (still live, site for his "band"), cumminsmartialarts.com (no longer online), and comyngar.freeservers.com (still live, related to the martial arts site).

First, let me say that the websites that are online are awful. They look like ones I developed on Geocities when I was 13, lol. I made better Myspace pages when I was a teenager. I think he mentioned them in his resume because he thought he was some sort of "web designer" and was trying to show it off. I'm sure this is not the only thing he tried and failed all the while expecting his wife to support his neverending stream of "dreams."

I'm guessing that he tried to start a martial arts dojo or something and failed at that too which likely led to the bankruptcy filing. He mentions in his resume that it was a full service e-commerce site so at the very least, he was trying to sell *something*. What it was, I have no idea. Wayback Machine doesn't have much on the site.

He also was in a "band" and although I don't want to say anything bad about the other members, it doesn't look like it was very successful.

I definitely think he was jumping from thing to thing constantly and expecting his poor wife to just support him regardless of how stupid and inane. Maybe that led her to help him get his "dream job" of teaching.

I am so glad JC is standing strong on this. She is a good example to her girls and a symbol to the community that what Tad Cummins did was unforgiveable.

I was so right about that monster though. I knew as soon as his sorry butt was in the slammer he would start obsessiving calling the people he betrayed. That emotional vampire is going to work on them incessently until he can wear them down. I was glad to hear she is not answering the phone. I just hope her daughters (one of which has a daughter) are strong and keep him out of their lives too.

Don't forget he used his wife as a "cover" to have his victim close and to keep people from raising their eyebrows. She was their "3rd daughter"- the one he was to rape. Right there in front of her face, he knew what his plans were.
IMO that takes a soulless piece of skin and bones( I can't call him human) to do that after 31 years!
If we are to believe that he hasn't been doing this for years to other girls.

I remember when Adam Walsh was abducted. I lived in FL. It was big news.

Before that happened, we kids were not chained to our parents' sides. Mom would shop and tell us to be at the front entrance in x minutes. And yes, even at 6,7, 8 years old.

But because we now keep a closer eye on our kids while in public, does that mean we are blaming Adam Walsh's mom for his murder?

Of course not! We should always be examining, learning, changing, bettering.

His wife, kids, grandkids, and all who considered him friend.
ET, her siblings, dad, friends.

Both ET and JC equally deserve our compassion, prayers, thoughts, etc. Neither of them asked to have their lives and their worlds turned upside down in a way that will require years of support, therapy and understanding and neither of them deserves to be criticized for what they did or didn't do, have or haven't said (publicly or otherwise) whether wittingly or not.

This left a trail of pain in his wake that no one was prepared for.

Thoughts on MCET testifying, whether she went willingly (I prefer intentionally which does not imply will) and TC trial.
The lawyer stated on a NG podcast that he thought MCET could recover and become a great witness (paraphrase)
So the outcomes are
1) she does not testify (still need to inlcude this) - there is stil enough to convict - boom TC is done
2) MCET does testify, she states that she asked TC to take her home.,"friend" refused, either because she would be late for work (her statement) or not enough gas (per CB video). Either way she says she wanted to go home. TC abducted her to AL and beyond. boom - TC is done
3) MCET does testify, says TC pulled gun and said get in car, abducts her to AL and beyond- boom TC is done.
4) MCET testifies and she lets him off the hook, loves him and wanted to be with him. Hard to write these words. Pros will not let this one happen.

DAHfense says she was not under force or threat. There were only two people there, MCET and TC. A jury will believe her.

3 of 4 he goes down IMO. There is very little way out for him

Look, JC herself said they called ET their third daughter. Okay, so if he slept with your other two daughters at the age of 15, what would your reaction be? Like others have said, I think she's disconnected from the facts because she if she can blame the child, she can take him back. I guess I'd tell JC that if your husband is at any time intimate with anyone else it's HIS fault. That he was intimate with a child makes him a rapist, again wholly HIS fault. She, IMO, is processing this in the only way she can - gradually. Right now she's focusing on the heartache and betrayal she feels. Thirty one years. They married when she was very young and she probably considered him her best friend. She's lost all that and more (financially as well as her reputation. Can you imagine how many people are wondering how she could not have know?). She lost her friend, husband, life partner. As a mother, she must grieve for her kids and grandkids. Eventually, I hope and believe, Jill will recognize that her husband is a predator and that ET is a victim of his exploitation in the worst way. I think she'll reach that point in stages.

This exactly has been my gut feeling all along. I truly believe that TC had planned to kill her and possibly himself. It is a miracle and an answer to so many prayers that ET was found alive. I can't even begin to express my disgust for TC and how he has utterly destroyed two families. May justice be swift and without mercy.

She, IMO, is processing this in the only way she can - gradually. Right now she's focusing on the heartache and betrayal she feels. Thirty one years. They married when she was very young and she probably considered him her best friend. She's lost all that and more (financially as well as her reputation. Can you imagine how many people are wondering how she could not have know?). She lost her friend, husband, life partner. As a mother, she must grieve for her kids and grandkids. A few things. To begin with, the school didn't step back because they hadn't fully stepped in. They were bound by law to notify her father as soon as they were notified. Not the next day, or the week after, or two weeks after, but that day. That's educational law in every state, bound by law to report incidences to the parents. No ifs, ands or buts.
Now it appears that LE went to the home of ET for the purpose of a criminal complaint. Something about how that went down is making it sound like someone went to LE to report something much bigger than a kiss. Something big happened, TC knew this wasn't something he could explain away and that's what really drove him to grab ET ( a potential witness) and run. I've danced around this in a few posts, but I'm going to be real blunt here. I think he abducted ET because she could testify against him, I think he planned on going to Mexico and I think he planned on going alone. I have every confidence that had they not been found, ET wouldn't have been alive much longer. You don't bring a gun unless you plan to use it, on someone. I'm fully convinced TC doesn't have the capacity to love anyone, look at what he did to a woman who devoted 31 years of her life to him, look what he did to his children and his grandchildren. Look and listen to the pain in his sister's voice as she's trying to make rational sense out of all of this. He didn't love ET, he needed her to disappear with him and he needed it to look like this was two star crossed lovers and if he got his jollies along the way, so much the better. I really mean it when I say what is going to come out at his trial is going to make our jaws hit the floor. If he was going to Mexico, why head north to an isolated area? Because like all criminals he was taking her to a secondary location. I can't being to express how relieved I am she was found.

If this does go to a Trial, i think that will be at least a couple of years away and by that time ET will be 17-18 i would think.

If he loses his libido then he won't want her. He already doesn't want her it sounds like. She was losing weight. Coulda got sick. Was he gonna take her for medical needs? Just so many dangers could have been still ahead for her. Shudder to think. Again, very fortunate she was found when she was.

I don't know what will happen with that? There is also video footage of them in walmart walking along together shopping. And she didn't really look scared of him or she might have made a run for it into the ladies bathroom & called LE, IMO. She certainly wasn't locked in a basement somewhere. I'm just thinking how his defense attorney will argue this out in court? And we all know how defense attorneys can be. Not that i think it will get him off the hook because when all is said & done he still committed crimes with a Minor. All IMO
