They also said that she is being treated as a homicide suspect. Surveillance video shows the perpetrator, not the girl, killing the clerk.

Makes no sense to me. Either a 15 can choose to go with a grown man/woman, or she can't. If they are too young to completely understand what they are doing is wrong how can they then say they are involved?

As I said on Trinity's thread, her case is very new. They were literally just found. Also, I assume LE has many details we don't. In time Trinity may be categorized as a victim, or she may not be. But the situations aren't the same. MCET was groomed by her TEACHER. And we just don't have a lot of information about the Trinity situation.

Both crimes occurred in TN in early 2017 within 2 months of each other.
Both involved 15-year-old teens and older men (one MUCH older man)
Both older men were known to the families involved.
Both men had loaded firearms in their possession.
Both teens were recovered unharmed.

Differences:
TQ was present during a homicide.
TQ was apprehended quickily; it took 5 weeks to find MCET.

TC also crossed multiple state lines with the minor..

Differences:
35 versus 13 year age gap.
One predator was the child's TEACHER.
One minor has been implicated in a murder. A crime. The other has NOT and is pure victim.

I've thought a lot about how we can impose adult responsibility and conquences on teens who committ crimes. And I also actually wondered,
strangely, what would happen if ET participated in a murder or violent crime I f directed by TC. What would her level of culpability be?

The thing is, a child can be both victim and perp at the same time. They can also differ from each other in terms of levels of maturity, sophistication, and cunning. Decisions as to what and whether to charge a kid in a situation like this other case and any crime in which a child participated depends on those factors.

But it it is extremely important to remember that ET HAS COMMITTED NO CRIME.

So there's no equivalence.
