Me three! I thought for sure there would be no way he’d be taken alive. Just … whoa.

ETA: we still don’t have actual confirmation he is alive/uninjured…

So he had an active warrant for murder before he did this. Guess he was going out with a bang like Pookie.

So sad for the Memphis community. The police are now going around to neighborhoods notifying people on loud speakers that the emergency is over and people can come out of their houses (per my friends). Doesn't really feel like it's a good idea with what has been going on outside the last several days...Come on Memphis justice system...

A huge bravo to the Memphis police!

Wrecked the car. Reporter says in custody and behind bars? This is very confusing.

Watching Fox Live. Feb 2020 - Murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment. Warrant issued this morning. Shooting rampage started at 4:30 pm. Started in an Infiniti, then carjacked a Toyota, then got in a Dodge Challenger. Several injured by gunfire. One confirmed dead, so far.

Edit: Reporters just clarified Feb 2020 is *attempted* murder.

I really hope neighboring police depts can provide some staffing relief in coming days/weeks. The Memphis LE community is in desperate need of time to debrief, begin to work through this last week, and start the “come-down” process from what I’m sure has been a constant state of fight-or-flight stress.

Talk about a trial by fire for the brand new Memphis Chief of Police and brand new DA. First Eliza, now this.

Carjacking victim was killed. She was 17 years old. :(

About a week ago I was warned to stay away from Memphis by someone that lives there. I was planning a road trip. He said violent criminals were just doing whatever they wanted to.

Yep. He served 3 years for attempted first-degree murder. He's been out for a few months. Is 3 years a typical sentence for this crime?

Who reported that he surrendered? He is in custody but I didn't read of a surrender

Where have we heard this story before?
Enough is enough.
The residents of Memphis need peace.
