Deceased/Not Found TN - Nichole Burgess, 36, Hermitage, 23 May 2014 *C. Cannon guilty*

  • #201
It sounds like this kid may very well end up testifying against his father should there be a jury trial or a not guilty plea. Hiding him away in an undisclosed location is probably a pretty smart move. If this Cannon fellow is capable of what the evidence is showing, eliminating a 10 year old "snitch" probably wouldn't bother him much either. They might want to also keep an eye on the sons friend that was confided in.

I'm still a little baffled why they haven't made the arrest yet.

I bolded this, because this question has been asked a lot and I have done a lot of thinking on this.
Let me say this is just my opinion, Once they make the arrest, the clock on bringing this to trial starts. All the evidence needs to be in and processed and dna/ all the forensics gone through thoroughly.
They know where he is, He has an attorney speaking for him and I can almost guarantee that they know exactly every move he is making.
Then there is the very young son. Questioning him, I would think, takes a specialist that deals with children, tho 10 year olds these days can articulate exactly what they mean for their age.
I can't imagine the trauma he has endured, whether or not he seen his mother murder, just the fact of knowing she was and who did it, to me, being 52 years old would be so devastating.

Suspects slip through police surveillance all the time. Seems like a risky move to me unless they are hoping he will return to wherever the body is hidden or try and move it elsewhere. I seriously doubt he would try that though if they are watching him the way you think they are. I know he lives in a rather small quiet town, so how many resources the local cops have to conduct surveillance 24/7 is a big question mark.

If this guy ends up in Mexico, everybody is gonna look pretty foolish. If he hasn't been arrested, then he is free to travel anywhere he wants to.

Point taken, they do slip through the cracks. I can only assume...considering they just captured someone from the TBI's 10 mosted wanted from Grundy County and they found him in Arkansas. He didn't show up for his court date.

So what do they have on him:
He was there.
His child says "he thinks he did it".
Neighbors saw him and another put something in the trunk..did not say a body.
There is a sheet with blood, but whose blood is it?
There was string/rope and other pieces of what could be evidence, is there dna/fingerprints etc etc on it.
They found things at his house.
Dogs hit on what could be decomposition in his vehicle ( remember Casey Anthony).
They have a lot but can they say it was him?

Of course I fully believe it was him, but lets get the evidence in and then go from there. I want a solid case where this man never walks free again, but mostly I want them to find Nikki as well.

I agree.

It sounds circumstantial to me and a good lawyer could pick it all to pieces. They don't even have a body! I think they must be testing the blood and other forensic evidence to make the case against him more solid. I think that's why they are waiting with the arrest.

Newer Reports I have found with basically the same information and it seems to me, there will be quite a bit to take to the Grand Jury for an indictment once it's all processed.

http://www.wkrn.com/story/25762790/...nuckles-recovered-from-hermitage-mothers-home

They confiscated several items including a sheet, comforter or mattress pad stained with blood and a piece of carpet from the master bedroom that was also bloody.

Brass knuckles were also recovered from the home, in addition to empty bottles of carpet cleaner and bleach.

Two days later, during the early morning hours of May 25, Burgess’ neighbor, Jamie McCavanaugh, told police he saw two people carrying something what appeared to be furniture out of Burgess’ home. He believes one of those two people was Cannon.

Speaking of the neighbor:

http://www.wkrn.com/story/25756704/friend-sees-suspicious-activity-after-hermitage-mother-vanishes

For the first time, one of those closest to missing Hermitage mother Nichole “Nikki” Burgess is talking about the suspicious activity he witnessed in the days after she disappeared.

McCavanaugh said he saw two people carrying something out of the back of Burgess’ home as he was walking through his back door.

He said it was dark outside but he believes one of the two people was Caleb Cannon.

“I know that something happened there. Looking back I just go, 'Oh my gosh,' when I realized what that could have been. That really attacks your brain and your heart big time,” said McCavanaugh.

The search warrant also mentioned a friend of Burgess’ son, who saw Cannon place two black nylon bags into the trunk of a car in Burgess’ driveway.

She has a fetlife account to, which is an account that is in the BDSM community. As per Find Nikki Burgess fb page.

Bringing this forward. I know who she is in some sense of the way. This makes the 4th woman on this board that I associated with on Fetlife or as a dancer. :(

Hey guys: What's the 411 on her fetlife business? I help run things there and do most of my business on there. I knew she dommed although more lifestyle verses what I do (pay for play). We have many similar groups/friends.....

Any info is helpful, fetlife is interested in helping out. We are having too many going missing and some feel rather connected in some sense of the way. If it means we strengthen security measures (like a black-list) or note when profiles go untouched for X amount of days based on how often they were using their profile - it would help.

Unlike many websites we have humans not bots running email and security.

AstroKitty,

The "Find Nikki Burgess" facebook page, has deleted any content having to do with fetlife. It was mentioned very early on, and since then nothing else has been said.

I'm not sure, but you might be able to contact Shannon Million or one of the others who are very close to her. Trying to contact them Privately. They prefer to leave some things off of there, out of respect for her family and sons.

Just looking at the page, you might be able to discern who she is close with.

I had wondered, since she cut off just about social activity such as twitter/fb etc etc about a year agoif she had done the same with fetlife.

I'm going to respect the family/friend choice to not discuss her sex life or curiosity of BDSM via fetlife. The website (FL) underwent a major site overhaul about a year n' a half ago - a lot of content was saved but moved around. People that had taken breaks from the site and returned found the format off-putting at first and too mainstream. If she cut off twitter/facebook, then I wouldn't hesitate to think she abandoned fetlife.

Unless of course a bazillion other factors come into play (which I don't see mentioned or hinted at).

I'm around if anyone needs me and in the mean time I await her safe return.

Boy, this case sure has gone quiet in the last week. Anybody heard anything new or seen anything in the media ??

Nothing new that I have seen.
Those closest to her, rather have it go slow and correct, concrete evidence, then fast and furious and acquittal. More so then anything else, they want her.
