I woke up thinking about Holly Bobo and how she spoke from where she is, and there were a couple of people that heard her. Granted they were just doing what they do, but in doing that, Holly was found.

Then I thought Of Nikki and hoping that somehow she will be able to speak from where she is, and can be found too.

I hope Nikki is found soon.

As horrible as murdering someone is, subjecting your child to something like this makes it ten times worse. I just can't even imagine.

Recently near here a man killed his wife and then killed himself while their daughter was in the house and aware of what was happening.

My daughter was friends with this little girl and was devastated to find out what happened to her friend - I can't even imagine how the little girl herself could process the events and learn to cope with it.

Praying she can be found soon.

"It's been five long months of waiting," said Shannon Million, Burgess' friend. "It's been a very stressful time for her friends and family and anyone who knows Nikki"...

Brittany McCann said she's afraid for Burgess' son. He is staying with a relative now, and McCann is afraid Cannon's family will get custody of him. "He could very easily manipulate a child and put fear into him, the same way he put fear into Nikki," McCann said...

Burgess' friends are counting on help from the FBI to find out what happened to her and where she is. Metro police said the FBI is processing evidence the TBI doesn't have the capability to test. "Anything we can do to put pressure on the FBI to let them know that this is not going away," McCann said. "We don't want her name on a box sitting on a shelf until they get to it. We need it done now."

Nikki, you have not been forgotten. Today I saw a special public message from Jay Henry and shared his message to all I know on Facebook and I will share it here as well. He has given everyone the right to share it.

From Jay Henry:
November is here and I believe its time for Nikki to be found and come home. With that said I want to speak directly to all of the hunters and the TWRA officers of this state. I believe you guys and girls are key to finding Nikki. You are the best search party we could all ask for.
The leaves are falling and the woods are much easier to see in. Please pay close attention to the grounds in your area while you are hunting and scouting. If something looks strange check it out. If you have spare time maybe look in areas you normally don't hunt or travel. The police can only do so much, but with hundreds of hunters walking the woods I feel this is the best shot we have, and I feel the time is now!! I understand this is something no one wants to stumble across but the closure you could bring to so many would be way more rewarding than any trophy on the wall.
A lot of you do not hunt but most everyone knows a few hunters and hikers so spread the word please.
Thanks to each of you that put a little extra objective to your hunts this fall. Its long overdue for justice to be served, and its definitely time for Nikki to be home proper.
As always be safe in the woods, and thank each of you for any help.

Nearly six months after Nikki Burgess disappeared from her Nashville home, investigators are still waiting on DNA evidence and hair samples to come back from both the federal and state bureaus of investigation.

Burgess, a mother of two, was last heard from on May 23, 2014. Friends reported her missing a few days later.

Detective Kevin Akin, a homicide and cold case investigator with Metro police, said multiple people are considered persons of interest in the case. Caleb Cannon, the father of Burgess' 11-year-old son, has been considered a person of interest since early in the investigation.

After hearing this and then reading it again just a few minutes ago..found it telling.
The POI had to have a bit of help with this. It had been said neighbors saw 2 people with a trunk open that night or early morning?
Very telling to me:

According to Detective Akin, Cannon has yet to come in for questioning.

“We've got a piece of the puzzle that's not overly cooperative,” said Akin. “And nothing has changed over the past five months.”

Will there ever be justice for Nichole?

I saw an episode of "Snapped" recently where a woman killed her husband and had her teen son help dispose of his body. I thought about the Nikki Burgess case when I was watching.....

It's been 8 months and I just read a heart wrenching post from Jay Henry a couple of nights ago.
Reading what he had to say, made me see what Nikki might have been saying.
He didn't have a problem coming against how this case is handled.

Just wanted to post that Nikki, you haven't been forgotten. I have faith that you are speaking and you will be found and that the POI/🤬🤬🤬 will be brought to justice!

Person of interest in woman's disappearance fired from UT job
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
The case of missing Nashville mother Nikki Burgess remains unsolved, even though police named a person of interest immediately after she disappeared.

Eight months have passed since Burgess disappeared. The father of her child, Caleb Cannon, remains investigators' top person of interest.

Police found a sheet with blood, brass knuckles, cleaning products, an extension cord and string in Burgess' home.

Police said the couple's son told a friend that he "might not be seeing his mom anymore because she is probably dead" and that he was "pretty sure that his dad killed his mom."

In search warrants, police said cadaver dogs smelled human decomposition in Cannon's car.

Neighbors said they saw two people in the early morning hours unloading something out of Burgess' home into a car.

"I do think the brother helped," said Brittany McCann, Burgess' friend. "I don't know 100 percent, but I do know that there were two people that were there in the morning. There were two people in the rear of her home." McCann got word that the Cannon brothers got jobs at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as maintenance workers.

Even tho, everyone, including LE really knows what happen to Nikki, I am reminded of Caylee Marie. Yes there was human decomposition detected in the car, and eventually she was found but Nikki still hasn't been found.

We do have Nikki's son's statements to his friend that he really thinks his dad killed his mom.

Two People are seen carrying something out of Nikki's house at night.

They do have "evidence" in the hands of the TBI ( which right now scares me, thinking of Holly and Zaylee Grace Fryar cases and those being in the hands of the TBI). That evidence apparently hasn't come back yet.

I would want all the t's crossed and the i's dotted and be damn sure it's going to stick.

I laughed reading the article, where Nikki's friend started writing everyone at UT to tell them about the person that is working with them and she even sent all the news articles. Priceless!!
McCann got word that the Cannon brothers got jobs at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as maintenance workers.

"I mean, it's a huge concern," McCann said.

She quickly started firing off emails.

"The campus police department, the chancellor, the provost, somebody in human resources," McCann said. "I let them know Caleb's history. I sent them links to the news stories because that's not going to show up on a background check because the arrest hasn't happened yet, but it will."

The vice chancellor of the university responded and thanked McCann for the alert. Cannon was fired on Tuesday.

"I hate to say it, but it feels great," McCann said. "But I don't want Caleb to be able to live a normal life when Nikki is not living hers."

I just wish they could find Nikki and let her be laid to rest properly.

Her family and friends sure need this to start to heal.

I TOTALLY AGREE! The worst part of this case all along, to me, has been that Nikki's son probably either saw/heard her murdered and/or helped move her body. Breaks my heart for him!

I drive by Nikki's neighborhood on my way to work, and I think of her when I pass by. Do we know where her younger son is? Is he with his father?

Also, what a great friend, I hope I have friends like that.

At last update, it seemed as if he was still in foster care (possibly protective care for his own safety, some have speculated).
